Abraerica Hospitality, a 30 room hotel perched on the Akwapem - Togo Range in the Volta Region of Ghana just one hour drive from Accra and 30 minute drive from Ho, the regional capital. It is the number one tourist destination for nature lovers. The climate is of a combo of winter and summer with dramatic changes in the conditions. All rooms have their own toilet & bath. Catering & bar services available.
I booked two weeks ago at Abraerica Guest House in Amedzofe. Today, just two days of my reservation I received a phone call from the management of the Guest House to cancel my reservation due some spraying of insecticide. The chemicals will take up to 3 days time. I like very much the guest house but I am dissapointed how they treat guest who even are there not for the first time. The tour to Volta was planned since a long time and this is inacceptable and unprofessional to cancel just two days before. The guest house know their pesticide treatment for longer time. Abraerica Guest House loose guest, who are here in the country for some years. I warn guest for any booking. You can not rely on it. Martin Keil

Great spot at the outskirts of Amedjofe, a nice village in beautiful surroundings. The view from some of the rooms and the restaurant is breathtaking. The rooms however have seen better days. Stuff is broken and not being fixed, no hot water, no water pressure. Gecko droppings everywhere The staff are very friendly.

This is a budget/mid range accommodation.Rooms are quite clean and staff are helpful. I would recommend Abraerica when you feel like unwinding on the mountain top and taking in clean air. Offers spectacular views of Mt. Gemi too. Breakfast was ok. Overall the services here are standard and couldn’t be any better.

The Abraerica Hospitalities was a disappointment. It had the most amazing location in the mountains just close to Amedzofe with a grand view. However, the place is very badly maintained, even for a “budget hotel” with lights, showers etc missing, damaged or malfunctioning. Despite being almost totally empty, it took some negotiation to get them to accommodate our highly complex group of 2 adults and 3 children in suitable rooms (eg we don’t want 2 people sharing a single bed, we don’t want our children 2 floors away from us) and almost nothing from the food menu was available. (Having said this, the “red red” cooked up here was the best we had in the whole country.) Staff were friendly and genuinely wanted us to have a good time, but, when travelling with young children, things just need to work a little better than this.…

We were delighted to find a room with a view for only 80cd. The food is prepared quickly and is tasty and good value. The restaurant has great views of the entire valley. Service is friendly. Great Value. We had to walk up the hill from the junction and on Sunday share taxis are few so it was a 4 kilometer sweaty walk. Share taxis to Ho are about 10cd.

This hotel has bar lounge , you can see nice view. They have soft drink like “Alvaro” most popular juice in Ghana , coke and so on.Of course they have many types of alcohole like “star beer” and “club beer” most popular beer in Ghana, Zima , Smirnoff , Jin , coketail and so on. Needless to say you can eat Ghanaians traditional food like Banku , Fufu and also rice , salada, bread , fruits and so on. You will be able to eat “Tirapia fish” is famous in Volta region because of closed to Volta lake. I reccomend you to eat delicious Fryed Tirapia!! If you visit Amedzofe and around area , you should stay this Hotel because the price is moderate , food is delicious , scenery is amazing and cool weather to stay in Ghana.…

Abraerica is located at an easy 15 minutes walk from the center of Amedzofe. The staff has been very helpful, gave me some good tips about getting around in Volta Region and was prepared to cook my food at ridiculous times. The place is huge and I was surprised to be the only guest. Which was a bit boring in the evenings but nevertheless I had the staff to keep me company. My room was basic but very clean and had great views over the valley, I had a decent bathroom and a shower with running hot water. This was the only time when I found hot water in Ghana. Give Abraerica a try, you won't regret it!

I really enjoyed the Abraerica. I am slightly surprised by some of the other reviewers who seem to think that, paying 25 dollars a night for a double room, on top of an African hill miles from anywhere, they should expect European standards of construction and service. The chips were the best I have eaten in Africa anywhere, in 25 years of travelling usually at five star/first class level. The staff were amateur but ultra enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. The building is god but has the typical Ghanaian issues with internal finish. The location is the entire point. You go for the wonderful views, the walk to the waterfall, and a temperature that doesn't get above 23 degrees mid afternoon. Really a nice break. If you can't cope with this, you should never have come to Africa in the first place.…
