Tonight Elaine and I had our wedding anniversary dinner at the Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, Ma. The colonial setting lends to a great atmosphere. They have five dining rooms to choose from the Main (this is where we had dinner) with its beautiful fireplace (not on tonight as it is summer). The food was great and the service exceptional... Old old building Very quaint and once I started to read about the ghost we became more enthused with the place. It's small and out of the way. Went for breakfast which was ok. Corn muffins and hash were quite good though. Eggs Benedict were ehhh! I could see going for a holiday dinner thought. Walked to the mill interesting.... More

I've been here for lunch and dinner several times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderful and the servers friendly and accommodating. The basket of rolls and muffins are fresh and delicious. I enjoy the entree salads particularly the Innkeeper's salad. I often add the grilled chicken to make it a meal. You won't be disappointed!

One of the oldest operating restaurants & inns in the country, made famous by Longfellow's poem. We had a fantastic dinner - the duck was great, as was the prime rib. It's worth the trip out to the historic Concord-Lexington area for sightseeing, and this is a great place to end the day.

We are locals who like to go to The Wayside Inn for their patio dining or just a drink on the patio, offered between 3 pm and 5 pm on weekdays. Do not bother! If you show up before 5 pm, you will get nothing but attitude from the front desk, innkeepers included! "The kitchen is closed!!!" The only redeeming... More

Sorry to say that as much as we had looked forward to eating lunch there, the food was not very good. The crabcakes were average as was the hamburger, chicken pot pie and the chicken fingers were frozen, the mac and cheese was out of a Kraft box. The service was also not very good. Extremely slow and the waiter... More

We ordered fried calamari and it was extremely soggy and tasteless. For main dish, we ordered lobster casserole and it was so over cooked and dry. There was absolutely no butter in it. It was a huge disappointment. Not worth the money to spend at this restaurant. The chairs are so uncomfortably hard. The service was eh. The best part... More

I tried to make reservations on the hotel web site for September 30th for 1 night. 10 weeks from the time I was making the reservation. . They emailed me a registration form. I completed the form and emailed it back to them. I received an email from them the next morning saying they had six rooms left and I... More

We arrived at the Wayside Inn on a warm Sunday afternoon. It's a historic inn that has been well preserved both inside with several dining areas and a gift shop and out. As we pulled into the driveway we noticed two young men dressed in period clothing at the front door, this continued the historic ambiance. The grounds are rustic... More

We enjoyed lunch here with friends while visiting Boston. There were two dining rooms to chose from - one rustic, where we sat since it seemed to fit the historic building. The other dining room was brighter and more modern. I recommend the rustic room! Each of us chose different menu items and everyone's food was delicious. Indulge in one... More
