My Wife and I just stayed at the Captain Farris House labor day weekend through the following week, It was a lovely stay, as Carol and Jeffrey were warm, inviting and great to talk to. The breakfasts were delicious and elegant. We found that Yarmouth was the perfect middle point to launch our week of adventure on the Cape. 40 minutes to Province Town, 40 minutes to Woods Hole for the Ferry to Marth's Vineyard and 15 - 20 minutes to most of the other towns. We felt like we had a home away from home. I hope we can find time in the future to once again stay with Carol and Jeffrey.

Property's Favorite Review
We stayed at the Captain Farris House B&B for three nights - it was the perfect base from which to explore Cape Cod. The owners, Carol and Jeff, are very personable, welcoming and helpful. On one occasion when we asked Carol for a recommendation for a local restaurant serving lobster, she came up with an excellent suggestion and then called them without us asking, to see if they had fresh lobster that day and to reserve two for us - I was impressed! The B&B is well-located; Yarmouth is in central Cape Cod and we found that to be ideal for exploring in any direction. There are many restaurants close by, we walked to dinner both evenings. Beaches, boardwalks and even things to do on a rainy day are only a short drive away. The CC Rail Trail is also convenient to Yarmouth though we didn't get to enjoy it as our weather was not conducive to riding. Our room (#1 - Reuben's room), on the main floor next to the breakfast room, was beautifully furnished and quiet. The tone is old style cozy elegance. We had a queen sized canopy bed with a good mattress and high-end bed linens, an ensuite bathroom with a large, walk-in shower, lots of hot water, fluffy white towels and two bathrobes. We had our own thermostat for room temperature control, two opening windows and a private covered deck with chairs. Plenty of storage, TV/VCR (many movies provided in the common area). The common areas included a lovely parlour with complementary port, sherry and amaretto laid out; and a sitting room where tea/coffee and snacks (bagged chips & popcorn) were available any time AND where freshly baked cookies made a daily appearance, such a good smell! A microwave was provided and we were told the kitchen fridge was available for storing small food items. Good wifi provided. Lots of parking. Lovely grounds. Breakfasts were something to look forward to! Alternating sweet and savoury days - we had French toast/glazed apple casserole with maple syrup preceded by a yogurt/fruit parfait & orange juice and coffee on Day 1; Day 2 was a peach/blueberry muffin just out of the oven, then a ham & cheese frittata with honey ham and fresh fruit, juice & coffee; Day 3 was maple vanilla baked pears with yogurt, Belgian waffles with peach/blueberry compote, sausage and maple syrup and juice & coffee. My goodness! Well above the ordinary! Attentive, friendly table service. I highly recommend this B&B!

We had a great stay at Captain Farris House a few weeks ago. Jeff and Carol are the greatest hosts ever! They read you like family and have so many great recommendations. We will be back! The breakfasts are amazing so make sure you make it there everyday. There was also little treats like cookies, chips and drinks available throughout the day. They recommended smugglers beach which was only a 5 min drive from the house. Mayflower beach had the perfect sunset which was a 15 min drive. The harbor to catch the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard were about a 20 minute drive. The room and bathroom was very spacious and decorated with the Cape Cod feel to it. They have a guidebook and an app to help you plan your day with things to do nearby and restaurant suggestions but don't hesitate to ask them for more suggestions. Covid precautions are taken very serious here. We were met with hand sanitizer when we walked in and provided a list of their other precautions. Everything was always spotless and cleaning supplies were available if needed.

The inn was exceptionally well maintained and clean, but also very comfortable and relaxing. Rest assured that the hosts, Carol and Jeffrey, have skillfully implemented all necessary COVID procedures to ensure safety without feeling obtrusive. So I felt very relaxed and also very safe. The breakfasts were awesome and our hosts accommodated dietary restrictions thoughtfully. Mint fresh from the garden garnishes the fruit cups. The inn is close to route 6 and it is an easy drive to beaches in Brewster, Chatham and Eastham.
