This beautifully restored bed and breakfast is ideally located on mid Cape Cod in the historic Bass River Village of South Yarmouth. Each room/suite is individually decorated and comfortable, all with private baths. Most of our rooms have double Jacuzzis,fireplaces and walk out decks. Each morning enjoy our seasonal full breakfast served at your own table for two. Afternoon teas and cookies and evening cordials also included. We are located close to beaches, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard ferry, fine and casual dining, shopping and all that Cape Cod has to offer. Open year round.

Property's Favorite Review
Captain Farris House has a comfortable yet elegant charm. Clean, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere. Breakfasts and afternoon cookies were all scrumptious. I'm a light sleeper, so earplugs solved the light traffic noise.

This was our 2nd visit to Captain Farris House, this time, we had some friends join us. My husband and I had a wonderful stay! Carol and Jeff are warm and attentive hosts. We were met with a lovely greeting, as if we returned home after being away for a long time. Our room and bathroom were spacious (I almost got lost soaking in the whirlpool tub LOL), our bed and pillows were super comfortable and the ambiance was so charming. Every day there was a delicious treat baking in the oven and each morning there was a delicious homemade breakfast. We had early trips out for 2 mornings and Carol made delicious to go warm breakfast boxes for us. To wind down, there are tea, coffee and other options to enjoy. If you want to experience real down to earth, from-the-heart service, book your stay at the Captain Farris House. Whenever we visit Cape Cod, Captain Farris House will always be our First Choice!…

My husband and I really appreciated how welcomed we felt just walking in the door...everything they have done is very thought out in how they want you to feel at home with all the extras...they give you your privacy but still are being the best host in leaving out goodies, games, movies and even offering evening spirits while you relax. The decor took me back to being in my Grandma's home with all the amazing smells that come in the morning with homemade breakfast that is fine dining at its best! If bed and breakfast is your thing then don't miss out on this gem! It's all in the details and they definitely delivered on all fronts. Our stay here was magical! No detail was overlooked from fresh flowers in the room to truffles and a handwritten note to greet us upon arrival. There were fresh baked cookies and snacks at the end of a long day, robes after a hot shower/bath, and a nightlight in the bathroom was appreciated for those of us who have to get up in the middle of the night. The grounds are so beautiful and well maintained and there is ample parking. Breakfast is an experience and top notch! Carol and Jeff were there every morning with a smile to greet us and answer questions about itineraries we had planned for the day. We had to leave early in the morning our last day there and Carol got up early to ensure we had breakfast to go. They really go above and beyond! We loved it and hope to return soon! …

We felt so relaxed and comfortable at the Captain Farris House!!! Our room was beautiful as well as comfortable!!! The breakfasts were delicious and different each day. Carol made cookies or cake for the afternoon/evening-delicious!!! The best part was the hospitality shown to us!!! We've always wanted to know what it's like to live in a historic captain's house on Cape Cod. The Captain Farris House was absolutely livable and lovable, beautifully restored and lovingly furnished and decorated. The suite was on the second floor, as expected, accessible via a narrow staircase, but the reward was an exclusive, authentic apartment. Our accommodation, the Captain Farris Suite, was equipped with a living room, bedroom and bathroom. The living room with a fireplace (which radiates a cozy atmosphere with fire). Carol and Jeff were helpful and attentive at all times, giving us the feeling of being hosted by passionate hosts. The breakfast was remarkable, prepared with love, presented with fresh, delicious, sweet combinations - and extremely tasty. The surroundings with service, always available soft drinks, teas, coffee, liqueurs and freshly baked cookies underlined the absolutely positive impression of the house. In our individualistic times, in which many hotels seem non-committal, practical, sterile and impersonal, the Captain Farris House scores points. Here you are pampered and given the feeling of being warmly welcomed and accommodated.

We can’t say enough about the Captain Farris house! It is a beautiful Cape Cod bed and breakfast with elegant accommodations, gourmet breakfasts, daily home made baked goods and the most wonderful and welcoming owners Carol and Jeff who go above and beyond to make your visit special. The location is perfect - nestled on a quiet block right near the Bass River and in-between bustling Hyannis and the gorgeous West Dennis beaches. We feel so lucky to have found this gem, visiting the Captain Farris House is our favorite annual tradition ❤️
