Great location with walking distance to the beach. While bathroom and the room was clean, mattress was poor quality and should be definitely updated. It was very soft and sagging in the middle, and my back was hurting afterwards. Air conditioner was working but was too noisy and also could be updated to the newer models that are much quieter.

When trying to book a last minute stay near downtown Harwichport (or the Cape in general) I kept coming back to this hotel/motel in my search. I had stayed here a few years ago and remember being very impressed and they didn't disappoint this time around either. Don't let the fact that I've called it a motel turn you off, this place is CLEAN, and they are taking COVID precautions seriously. It's no frills, but the room was great (small fridge in room for snacks, etc FYI). The owners couldn't have been better. Normal check-in time is 3pm, i called at 11am when we arrived on Cape just to ask if we could park in their lot and walk to the beach nearby...Our room was already ready and we were told to go ahead and (contactless) check right in, we were thrilled! We were able to unload our car and put any snacks/drinks in the fridge without worry of them getting too warm in the car. They also allowed us to leave our car in the lot on check-out day too so we could head to the beach again! (not sure if this is standard as I don't imagine they had many check-ins on a Sunday afternoon-BUT these owners are so accommodating, it wouldn't ever hurt to ask). To top it off, one of the owners saw us coming back from the beach (long after normal check-out time) and said if we wanted to use the room again to change or use the bathroom, we were more than welcome to. Above an beyond in my opinion. There's something to be said for locally owned and managed properties. We'll definitely be back to stay at the Shoals and will certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy, accommodating stay.

GREAT LOCATION: close to Harwich Port, Chatham & beaches! My room was most comfortable, spotless, updated, equipped with Mini-Fridge plus Microwave & a super restful bed! The room was very quiet & the owners went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I was concerned as to the cleaning process due to Covid 19 but the new owners explained the disinfecting procedure to provide safety to all guests which put my mind to rest. The Motel is most affordable & excellent value! I will definitely stay here again!!

Stayed for 2 nights with my girlfriend in the king sized room and had a very pleasant stay. The bathroom is well kept and up to date was honestly pretty nice. There was already ice in the mini fridge as well as an ice pack which came in handy. Location was unbeatable too if you’re looking to stay around Chatham / Harwich area. Would recommend to family and friends!
