My stay at the Daniel Stebbins House was wonderful. The house built in 1795 is spectacular. Although it has every modern convenience I could feel the history of the house in everything from the beautiful wallpaper to the wide beautifully restored wood floors. Breakfast included delicious fresh fruit and perfectly prepared croissants, delicious coffee and a variety of milks. I also enjoyed access to a late night snack of cookies and teas. The hosts are intelligent, warm and helpful. The bedding was second to none. A perfect Bed and Breakfast!!!

Had a lovely three night stay at Daniel Stebbins. Ruth and Richard were the perfect, charming and welcoming hosts. We enjoyed the different selections of fresh produce for breakfast each morning, in particular Ruth’s home baking. Teas and coffees were available all day too. We stayed in the Daniel Stebbins room which was lovely, having a very comfortable four poster bed and powerful shower. It’s only a few minutes walk from the shops and nearby eateries, as well as Mount Holyoke college. It served as a perfect base for exploring the local area over our three days, and Richard was very helpful with recommendations. Would highly recommend and hope to return when back in New England

A wonderful find! This is a lovely old house, beautifully renovated, and conveniently located within walking distance of the Mt. Holyoke campus, restaurants, bookstore, etc. It was very comfortable, and everything we could have needed was provided. Breakfast was great (especially the croissants). And the people (Ruth & Richard) who run it are not only delightful but knowledgeable. We had an excellent dinner at a restaurant they recommended (Johnny's Bar & Grill). Hope to return.

Daniel Stebbins House is the quintessential New England bed-and-breakfast. An historic property circa 1795, it was owned for decades by Mount Holyoke College. Faithfully restored but with lovely, warm patina, it’s appointed with antiques and period-correct furniture and art. Our room was large with an exquisitely comfortable bed. The grounds are planted with a wide variety of interesting, beautiful flowers and trees. Ruth and Richard are consummate hosts, and we look forward to our next visit with them!

The Daniel Stebbins House was a beautiful retreat for my husband and I with absolutely beautiful grounds! The host, Richard was easy to talk to and gave us some wonderful ideas to do such as touring Emily Dickinson’s house. Although we did not get to meet Ruth, we ate some of her scrumptious baked goods. Thank you Richard and Ruth!

A wonderful home away from home! The hosts are wonderful, the place is really special, a true historic mansion, each room has its own character. Breakfast is great. My only regret is that we stayed only one night! As a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, I also valued the special connection to the College. Definitely recommend this wonderful cozy historic inn.

The Daniel Stebbins House is the perfect location for anyone looking to feel at home while taking some time away. Ruth, the owner, could not have been kinder or more accommodating to us in the three days that we spent in South Hadley. She made sure that we felt comfortable and treated us like family. The Abby Wright room was absolutely adorable and charming. You can tell that Ruth and her husband truly care about this property and maintaining the original antique atmosphere. When we arrived, we had no problems parking and checking-in was simple. Our room was clean and comfortable, and having all the additional amenities such as the kitchen and dining area, made us feel even more at home. We highly recommend the Daniel Stebbins House and we plan to stay here again when we visit again!

We recently stayed at this lovely Bed n Breakfast and embraced its historic charms while attending a wedding in South Hadley. This property offers all the expected amenities: comfy bed, soothing shower and dependable wi-fi. It also boasts a great location with a dandy little shopping area that boast fine restaurants, gift shops and even a cinema. Also, within walking distance is the celebrated Mt. Holyoke College. The school's tree-lined, manicured grounds just beg you to stroll around the deep green lawns. The best reason to recommend this property is the amiable, hard-working team of Ruth and Richard who make you feel welcome for your entire stay. I'm kinda stingy with five-star reviews but wholeheartedly award all five to Daniel Stebbins House.

A wonderful stay at a beautiful B&B. Ruth and Richard provide warm hospitality in a home that is brimming with history and lovingly maintained. Cozy, comfortable, immaculate rooms and baths, very pretty gardens, and a location that offers easy access to to historical sites, museums and all kinds of outdoor activities. We spent three nights there and felt like family by the time we left. Just perfect!

Our stay at the Daniel Stebbins House was the highlight of a Father / Daughter weekend road trip. Richard and Ruth were wonderful hosts and maintain an absolutely beautiful home. We stayed in the Daniel Stebbins room, which is immaculate and well appointed. Bathroom was really nice with a glorious shower. Ruth was incredibly helpful and as we left even offered to be a point of contact for my daughter as she will be attending boarding school at Northfield Mt. Hermon in the autumn. If you get a chance to stay with Ruth and Richard, take advantage. I'm sure we'll be back.
