There is free on-site parking directly behind the hotel and another free parking lot behind it that is available if the other one is filled.
This was my first visit to Inn on Boltwood since Covid hit. The cozy library is closed for now, but it was great to be back at the Inn. the rooms are comfortable and unique, the staff is helpful and kind, and it's...
Great downtown location within a mile of Smith College and lots of coffee shops, other shopping, restaurants, Catholic Church only a 4 minute walk away and free parking at the hotel is some of what’s available here.
We stayed here Halloween night because were looking to move into the area and wanted to scout it out. First impression of the room I was thrilled because based off of other reviews I was nervous. We booked a junior...
I actually stayed at Carson's for two months -- September and October. I needed to be in the area for family reasons and was delighted to be able to stay in such a beautiful, comfortable place. It is clean and filled with thoughtful touches like nice shampoos, slippers, a robe and exceptionally good home made breakfasts. The gardens are a soul feed. I appreciated the owner's careful attention to Covid guidelines and felt very safe. Since it is right next to Mount Holyoke College, I was able to walk that beautiful campus on a daily basis. I had a wonderful stay and will look for excuses to come back.
On about July 23, we reserved two rooms for the night of Aug. 17 to arrive late in the evening and depart early on the 18th check our daughter into Mount Holyoke at 9 a.m. Later that week we learned that Massachusetts would require us to provide proof of a negative COVID test taken no later than 72 hours before our arrival in Massachusetts. We scrambled to find a way to get the test done within 72 hours of arrival, given the delay in getting results back. On Aug. 7, Holyoke emailed parents and students that the college had decided it would not allow students to come to campus. We immediately emailed the owner to let her know what had occurred, and that for circumstances beyond our control, we would not need the rooms. She insisted on full payment, with tax.
Highly recommend this colonial step back to a time of unparalleled relaxation and culinary delight. South Hadley is a place of beauty to stroll with an array dining options within minutes. My wife and I came in for a swim meet at Mount Holyoke located a door away and needed a place to bed for two nights. We got so much more with gourmet breakfasts and cherished restful sleep. We left both happy and revived all the more so by the abundant hospitality of our hostess.
Amazing place. I am an outside sales rep and have stayed in many places and this has to be one of the most comfortable in every way. Susan really knows how to make someone feel at home. What a wonderful treat this was and a great break from the drudgery of staying in hotels, motels and many other bed and breakfasts !!!
South Hadley is home to Mount Holyoke College. Amherst, Smith, Hampshire, UMass Amherst all easy drive from South Hadley. Carson’s one block from Mount Holyoke campus. Lovely, historic building. Beautifully maintained. Rooms are comfortable and “homey”. Lovely extras provided such as robes, slippers, full toiletries. Cannot find comparable at any hotel unless talking about 4 Seasons or Ritz. Carson’s puts you in the mood to visit colleges. Lovely, considerate owner. Highest recommendations. Travel extensively, wish every stop this charming.
