I stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law for 4 nights in August. The innkeepers are very welcoming and followed Covid protocols very well. Breakfast, such as fresh fruit, vegetable frittatas, muffins, scrambled eggs over sourdough and goat cheese, as well pancakes was delicious. We stayed in the two adjoining pet- friendly rooms with our two dogs. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds are also very spacious and beautiful. They also have a fenced in yard for our dogs to run around. We will definitely return and highly recommend that you stay here when you visit the Berkshires! It’s also close to everything... great restaurants, hiking trails, and more!
My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights at the Staveleigh House Bed & Breakfast. Although we were nervous about traveling these days, our Staveleigh House room was very clean and had its own entrance. The Innkeepers (Chris and Mike) were very friendly and practiced social distancing/wore masks inside the house and in our presence. At no point did we feel uncomfortable being there. The public areas of the house were very charming and the breakfast room was bright with fresh flowers on each table. There was only one other couple staying there at the time and they sat on the opposite side of the dining room. We felt comfortable dining inside for the first time in many months. The grounds were lush and they had a large flower garden full of phlox. There were Adirondack chairs for relaxing on the lawn. The breakfasts were freshly-prepared, locally sourced and large portions (two courses). Our delicious meals during our stay were (1) baked apple stuffed with raisins followed by cheese quiche, (2) cantaloupe followed by French toast and sausage, and (3) honeydew melon followed by scrambled eggs with goat cheese on sourdough bread. Chris and Mike gave us great advice on restaurants in the area. We enjoyed every one of their recommendations (Aegean Breeze, Café Adam and John Andrews). They also gave useful information for visiting Bash Bish Falls and suggested other local hikes. All in all, we found Staveleigh House to be welcoming and restful, and our hosts were warm and helpful. We look forward to visiting again at different times of the year. Thank you, Chris and Mike, for a wonderful stay at Staveleigh House!…
Not only are Chris and Mike fantastic hosts, but this Is by far the best bed and breakfast we have experienced. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the food is great and we were treated like family. A much needed respite from the craziness of our world today.
The owners Mike and Chris of this lovely B&B right in downtown Sheffield were very helpful in m making our stay very special. We brought our little dog because they allowed dogs into of the rooms. # 7 Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts cooked by Chris were very good. Mike recommended a hike based on our request for something not too strenuous and so we went over to Bash Bish Falls. It was the perfect autumnal walk and exactly what we wanted. Thank you Mike and Chris for a perfect weekend away.
We loved our stay which began with the owner greeting us warmly and offering to help with our bags. Our room was quite large, tastefully appointed and quiet. The breakfast including a baked apple and wonderful farm fresh scrambled eggs served on wonderful bread served with great coffee and juice. All in all the owners run a wonderful inn more than worthy of a detour.
