My vegan meal, which they actually had as a special that night. It was pumpkin ravioli with pepitas, brussel sprouts, pear with a sauce. Garnished with some pea shoots. It was delicious.

There are two fine dining restaurants in the world that I would eat at during this COVID-19 time, and one of them is the Belfry Inn. We did the overnight package with the Wine Wednesday package which included dinner and a bottle of wine from a special wine list, overnight stay in any room, and breakfast. They offer outside dining, in front of the building and under an open-sided tent on the side. Tables are spaced at least 6 feet apart, and I felt safe at the generous distance apart. Servers were masked. You need to wear a mask when you walk around, but you can remove it at the table.

The ahi tuna appetizer was so fresh and delicious complemented by the seasoned slaw and ginger. My husband enjoyed the fresh salmon, and I had the two duck legs with pommes frites/french fries.

For breakfast, we got the feta cheese omelette and buttermilk waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.

We stayed in our favorite room the Saturday room in the Abbey which has a jacuzzi tub with remote control in the bedroom with Archangel Michael overlooking the room. There is shampoo, but I remembered to bring our own bath salts/bubbles this time.

There is a balcony overlooks the outside dining and the parking lot, so you can watch people walk in. The room was spacious and had two leather chairs. The room also had a shower and a sink with room for toiletries. There are two flights of stairs to walk up to the rooms. The Sunday door opens to a flight of stairs which is easier to take your luggage straight down to the parking lot, instead of around to the front of the building then to the parking lot.

For COVID-19, they spend three times a much time cleaning the room, they use a ultraviolet light sanitizer plus allow a day between guest to air it out.

Staff wear masks and the doors to the inside of the restaurant are open and allow air flow.

The Belfry Inn location is very convenient in town with stores and other informal restaurants in the same block. You are walking distance to the free spring water that is down by the church and mill. Bring your own container or drink from the always running, cold water.

We love Belfry Inn and Bistro, and it is one of our favorite places in the world. Where else, can you have dinner and sleep in a former Catholic church with the beautiful stained glass or be served a drink from the liquor cabinet former confessional booth. The ceiling are tall and soaring. It is truly a special place. Celebrate the Belfry Inn's 25th anniversary this year by a stay and or dinner there. You will see why it has received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for so many years.

Chris, the owner, innkeeper, and person who is always there has done an exceptional job in continuing to create an exceptional and safe experience well worth the visit.

My husband and I can not remember how we celebrated our 51st and 52nd Wedding Anniversaries, but we will never forget our 53rd where we stayed in the Tuesday Room at the Abbey. The unique church theme and architecture, the amenities in the room, the location in historic Sandwich, and the included ample breakfast all make this a very special place.
The owner pays strict attention to all details, both those inside as well as the lawns and gardens. Having read reviews prior to making our reservation, we anticipated a 5-star stay and our expectations were met.

We had attended the cape Chorale concert (as did many others) and wanted to extend the fun by having dinner at the Belfry. many of us had never been here and I grateful that someone in the group knew to recommend it.
The location is easy to find and there is ample on the street parking as well as a large parking area behind the building. Those who are physically challenged can use the ramp to the side door entry. The front door entry way is small, but don't let that both you because when you turn the corner you will be in a very large dining area. The tables near the fire looked inviting but our friend had reserved a small dining room for us.
Our server was personable and professional and let us linger over menu selections. I think he might have been the only person on for the evening but that was okay as we did not want to be rushed.
They offer wine by the glass as well as by the bottle and they have a nice list of cocktails. Just about everyone had some sort of wine except me as I am usually the DD.
The appetizer list was obviously appealing as everyone ordered one. We ordered the faux gras and it was superb. Others ordered the shrimp and avocado which would have been my second choice. The dinner menu is nice selection of various seafood, meat and poultry. I went with the duck as I don't cook this at home so I like to get iy whenever i can. My wife ordered the steak. Others ordered the cod, the lamb or the beef dish.
The duck was two large legs and prepared crispy although the meat was very tender and moist. My wife's steak was superb. One of the tastiest I have had on the Cape. I was tempted to ask who they get their beef from but it slipped my mind. The cod looked fabulous as did the lamb. No real dinner envy tonight.
None of us selected a dessert but we still lingered to finish up conversations etc.
This will definitely be on the list of places for special dinners for special occasions.
We enjoyed the ride home to South Yarmouth as many of the giants were lit up for the evening.

We had dinner at the Belfry last week. It has long been a favorite of ours, especially for special occasions. It is expensive, but the service and food have made the cost worthwhile. Until last week. We had a visitor from Washington D.C., and we booked a table because we wanted her to have a special experience. We were all disappointed. The server was excellent. But the food was a let-down. The appetizers were quite good: My wife's crab and avocado, my butter lettuce salad, and our friend's raw oysters. But the entrees were a disaster. My wife had the scallops. They were pale and overcooked, and not seared. The crab cake and shrimp dish was awful: The crab cake was mushy, and the shrimp so overcooked that our guest did not eat them. I had the short ribs. They were lean, but tasteless. On the whole, it was a let-down. Our waitress asked how the meal was. We said "okay,'' so she knew. When the bill came, it contained charges for a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of Proseco, which we had not ordered. As you might imagine, dinner was a downer, and we were embarrassed because we had raved about the Belfry to our friend. We all need to give our restaurants the benefit of the doubt, given the unimaginable challenges they face. So I backed off, and sent a private email to the manager. I did not hear back. Maybe he'll read it here.

Beautiful place: a small group of us ate outdoors on a lovely evening. Some of the food was spectacular: the pasta w. the shortribs was thoroughly delicious and satisfying; the more expensive lamb, in contrast, failed on every level--lacking flavor, poor in presentation, and making us rather sad. The burrata starter was fine but undistinguished; the oysters were terrific; the Caesar salad was nicely done. Our server was new to the profession and took some time to get things right but did finally make sure everything was done correctly. It IS an expensive restaurant and we knew that, but there should be a correlation to the preparation in terms of the fineness of all the dishes and the service.

We’re super pleased with our stay at the belfry in the pink lady house. Christopher was super nice and helpful, checkin was a breeze. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable (and I’m a bad sleeper) and slept great. The area was fantastic, we walked over to nearby sandwich beach which was beautiful. There was plenty of food options in the area and even 3 restaurants on the property itself. Free continental breakfast downstairs was delicious and we enjoyed sitting out on the beautiful courtyard in the mornings. We already are planning on coming back for a cape cod wedding we are attending soon.

Spent a week in East Sandwich and had dinner our first and last night at Belfry Inn and Bistro. My wife and I loved the food. My wife has a fussy palate but she enjoyed everything she ordered and so did I. The lobster gnocchi was amazing. Crispy Shanghai Pork Belly and Lemon Crab & Avocado Sphere were incredible. The service was second none. Saturday evening was busy but our waitress (Eileen T) went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

The interior is so pretty, and the outdoor dining on the lawn looks lovely. The staff works very hard to manage the larger COVID footprint with tables indoors and all round outdoors, so expect service to be a little on the slow side. Drinks are well-made. The salmon preparation that has a sweetness that is quite delicious.

My wife and I had the worst dinner from start to finish. I had octopus for appetizer it was under cooked and was like a piece of rubber. My Duck was deep fried and all grease. I couldn't eat any of it. My wifes Tuna was so soft that she couldn't cut it with her knife and had all veins running through it. We couldn't wait to leave. We sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere. But the food was horrible. I wouldn't eat there for free. I hope this review gets the restaurant back on track.
Sorry to say that the server wasn't any better

We ate at the Belfry restaurant and it was pretty underwhelming. To start with, the drinks were very weak. Had to send back the Mahattan for lack of liquor. The food was ok, but considering the price, it was not exceptional. With entrees on the mid/upper $40 range, we expected something more in flavor and presentation. Very nice atmosphere, good service, but the price/quality ratio was off.
