We stayed in the Ariel room in the Yankee Clipper Inn. The large, comfy room is on the top floor, and the views are fantastic and never-ending. There is a in-room Keurig provided, as well as shower gel and shampoo, which is a nice touch. I felt right at home there. The Inn is within walking distance to downtown Rockport and Bear Skin Neck shopping and restaurants. The provided daily breakfast is delicious, especially the pancakes. The vintage property is well kept and decorated nicely. Inn keeper Mike couldn't have been friendlier. We will return!
My wife and I have been married for 2 years and finally had our honeymoon at The Yankee Clipper Inn. Its an old style Bed and Breakfast. It was built in the early 1900's. It's not new please don't expect it to be and that is the charm. It's like stepping back in time to old New England. Peter and Mike were the most gracious hosts. They could not have made our stay more welcoming. Even housekeeping went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. OH and the breakfast. Words cannot describe the pancakes peter can conjure up. Slightly crisp on the outside, soft and luxurious on the inside. We stayed in the Red Jacket Room. Paul Newman stayed there and for good reason. It's simply amazing views. The first night we were alone and able to view the other rooms and each had their own charm, we would stay in any available. We took day trips to Salem, Boston, Essex and Gloucester. Everything is a reasonable distance. We are planning to go back in the fall. It's not often we are impressed or take the time to write a review but in this case it's well deserved. Thank You Gentlemen! Scott and Stephanie…
Overnight getaway, Peter was a fabulous host. He made us a delicious breakfast with the best pancakes. We enjoyed our private deck to watch the sunrise and have afternoon snacks while hearing the waves crash. The place will be needed some updating on the property and in the rooms for sure , it’s very reminiscent of Grandma’s house. Otherwise quite clean, they have wine glasses and plenty of towels and blankets . You can enjoy a long walk into town and to Bear Skin Neck.
We spent two nights in the Red Jacket room which has a private enclosed porch and a private deck. The water views were fantastic . The breakfast was made to order by Peter. The staff was friendly and very helpful. This stay was excellent !
Michael is amazingly helpful. I had a few special accommodations needed and he graciously exceeded all expectations. Breakfast was to die for! We are usually quite content with a little continental breakfast before we head out to local restaurants but again, Peter the Chef completely exceeded all expectations and I'm so glad we decided to stay at the hotel for breakfast. The rooms are super cute and the views are beyond amazing. Oh, and the bathtubs! Quite an unexpected treat! My family and I will forever stay at this hotel when we visit Rockport.
