Mike the innkeeper was very knowledgeable of local sites & the food scene . Also he made a very good free breakfast !!! We walked a Historical Granite Quarry for almost 2 hours . The beaches of course where all ours . No crowds in Feb. March . Can't wait to check it out again during the late summer . Thanks Mike & The yankee Clipper Inn . Dick & jane

My hubby and I love to vacation in Massachusetts in the fall, and Rockport is our favorite place on the east coast. We’ve stayed at, and loved, other B&Bs in Rockport, but decided to try the Yankee Clipper Inn because it’s beautiful. My soul longs for the sea, and the inn has the sea right in her back yard. I could wake up every morning, go out on the private deck, & watch my lobstah boats with the sunrise. Mike was very accommodating when I decided I couldn’t leave, and extended our stay courteously. Peter makes the most AMAZING breakfasts, especially his pumpkin ginger pancakes. Omg! He checked us into the inn, and was so friendly! And Claire, dear sweet Claire! We loved her! She took such good care of us in the morning. She is absolutely delightful! The staff is amazing, the food is wonderful, and the view of the sea is breathtaking! Just a side note, it was mentioned that some pretty famous people had stayed in the room next to ours. Let me just say, this is now our home away from home when we visit the east coast. There is no way we’d stay anyplace else!

Stayed here for 2 nights while in town for a friends wedding. Location is great! View is absolutely stunning! We stayed across the street in the Bulfinch house, and we had a very nice ocean view. Breakfast was very good, made to order. Very nice, personalized service with all staff. The manager lives on site, so it was nice to see him around. A very intimate, homey vibe. My only negative I have is that the room was quite small, and I did see some repairs that needed to be done around the property. The buildings are quite old, so I can’t fault them too much for that. Housekeeping was excellent and efficient!

This is an old historic inn that is beautifully situated. Unfortunately the operative word in the previous sentence is "old." There is a wonderful breakfast area that offers beautiful views. The other public space on the main level is rather shabby and doesn't offer any particular reason to want to spend time there. There is an old bar (doesn't seem to be used) at one end of the room with a television -- but no seating anywhere. When we checked in, the innkeeper told us the air conditioner in our room was not operating and a fan had been installed on top of it in case we needed it. Fortunately it was cool and we were able to keep the windows open. That was a good thing because every time we came into the room there was a musty smell. My guess is the rug had recently been cleaned (there were still plastic protectors under the chairs in the room) and had not yet completely dried. The innkeeper was friendly and took care of any issues we had quickly and efficiently (e.g. a drain that became blocked). For the steep price of the place, I must say we expected a nicer experience. Having real maple syrup for the included breakfast, for example, would have been more in keeping with expectations. Oh, and by the way, expect to carry your own bags up and down the stairs to your room.

My wife and I loved our stay at the Inn. The manager/owner? greeted us warmly and gave me some room options. Our room was in the Bulfinch House - which was just perfect. The included breakfast was so much more than i ever would have expected - made to order omelets/eggs, waffles, plus the continental fare. According to my wife - it was the best omelet she's had. Would definitely stay there again.
