If traveling to the Rockport or any surrounding area, this is the place to stay. The rooms are quaint and well kept. The innkeeper Sawsan provided amazing hospitality, conversation, and a fantastic breakfast made to order. This B&B is within 4 blocks of Bearskin neck and is very close to all of the surrounding sightseeing spots such as Salem and Boston. If looking for a great place to stay, my wife and I highly recommend the Sally Webster Inn, you will not be disappointed !!
We just had our 2nd visit to SWI and it was even better than the first, which was incredible. When we travel, we mostly stay in B&B's for the homey atmosphere and often great breakfasts. Sally Webster Inn is now our world favorite! It's homey, comfy and is owned, tended and well loved by Sawsan Galal. Sawsan is the perfect combination of warm, welcoming and appropriately detached. Some B&Bs, you barely meet the host. Others, the host is smothering. Sawsan knows how and when to talk to you and when to leave you to your vacation. She is a real french trained chef, not just a good cook! So breakfast was superb! It was partial buffet of fresh fruits (I watched her cut them), a whole plate or two of homemade pastries, traditional cake breads, breakfast meats, potatoes, oatmeal, cereals. My favorite is her made to order eggs. Such a simple thing but never have I had an omelet or scrambled eggs like that! She had a variety of cheeses to add or made them plain but in the french style- so not overcooked. The eggs (in 6 days I tried lots of styles) always melted in my mouth! The rooms in this really old house were modernized to a degree but maintain their old world charm. Sawsan has been working for the last few years to renovate them. The beds were COM_FOR_TA_BLE! I slept more soundly than I had in months! The bathrooms were added later to the house, so they are kind of small but that wasn't a problem for us. SWI is located up the hill from downtown Rockport and it was a 7 minute, really pleasant walk to the artsy area. I enjoyed the quiet. One day, I spent the afternoon in the back garden reading! Everyone was gone and Sawsan brought me some water and a snack! It's so lovely out back! There's a patio and a garden with beautiful flowers and big trees. Each morning, I woke early and walked across the street and down a quiet lane to the garden beach to watch the sunrise, lobster boats and the ocean waves. Sawsan had coffee at the ready when I came back. She also has a 24 hour coffee/tea stand and pastry plate. One huge bonus is that Sawsan will do a cooking lesson if you ask. We spent one evening learning a LOT as she made fresh seafood paella! WOW! Check out her instagram. There's a picture! Over the time there, I'm happy to say that we became friends. There were 4 of us in our party. By the time we left, there were 5. :)…
Most enjoyable experience. The breakfast made by Sawsan every morning was to die for and had a variety of different choices. The inn itself was very quaint and cozy and right away you felt at home. The WiFi being super fast was also a plus.
My husband , daughter and I stayed overnight in Sawsans Inn. Our Room was clean, spacious with comfortable beds, soft linens and good shower but it was the fantastic breakfast that made this such a special place to stay. Sassan is a chef, she made fresh delicious scones, including gluten free ones for me to eat for breakfast and to take away! There was beautiful fresh fruit, granola, scrambled eggs and a selection of breads. There was even hibiscus jam to go on our scones which was particularly tasty. Sawsan was so friendly , chatty and helpful. If you are ever in Rockport you will not fine a better place to stay, full marks for everything and outstanding breakfast and hospitality. Well done Sawsan and your staff
Had a very nice 1 night stay in this b&b.The room had a comfortable bed and 2 chairs with an en suite bathroom. The water pressure was very good in the shower and our room was on the second floor. The breakfast featured many homemade items by the owner that were very good.
