Quiet, clean, comfortable - the perfect off season mini-vacation on the beautiful ocean. Went during the week so we didn't get to try out the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfasts were wonderful. Highly recommended!
Our stay at the Emerson Inn was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The property is elegant, beautiful and very well maintained. The view of the ocean from the huge back porch is spectacular. Great spot to enjoy a cocktail in the evening or to relax with a good book in one of the porch rocking chairs. Must mention that all of the staff members we interacted with were wonderful - professional, accommodating and very knowledgeable about local restaurants, etc. One night, we got to watch the Oscar winning movie "Coda" (filmed locally) on their big screen in the lower level game room after returning back from exploring Rockport & Gloucester. Thanks again to our hostess who set this up for us. Overall this was a great change from the hotels that we usually stay at. A wonderful welcoming atmosphere - highly recommend!…
We stayed for two nights for a weekend getaway. The check in process was very easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful with local area recommendations. The parlor bar is very cool! The architecture is very interesting and the piano player very entertaining. Breakfast was excellent. Room was a tad small but has everything you need. Shower pressure was awesome! The grounds are expansive with many small groups of lounging chairs to enjoy.
The Emerson is the absolute quintessential New England coastal Inn. You can tell the property has been well taken care of over it's 150+ year history. The first floor parlor and Grand staircase is a little like entering a French chateau with a splash of New England charm. All 4 floors offer absolutely stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Entire property has gone through extensive renovations over the past couple years, you'll be presently surprised if you remember the Inn from the past. Every team member we met could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Be sure to enjoy their full breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Candice was a warm and gracious host! The pumpkin blueberry pancakes were out of this world! We look forward to coming back to enjoy their heated salt water pool! Need an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Bring a good book and enjoy simple peace and quiet at it's finest. The Emerson Inn defines the perfect peaceful getaway! …
The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. I had an early morning flight out of Boston and the staff went out of their way to ensure I had a cold breakfast to go waiting for me as I checked out. One the weekends there were some light snacks/food in the evenings. When requested, great recommendations were provided for hiking and restaurants. Worth the price!
We had a wonderful time staying at The Emerson Inn. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, engaging and kind. The views from the back porch and the room were amazing. A full Breakfast was included everyday of our stay and it was delicious. Dinner and bar service was great too. Seems to have many repeat customers and I understand why. We will definitely be back!
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at The Emerson Inn. The king room with ocean view was just what we wanted. We could listen and see the ocean waves upon waking and falling asleep . The Inn is beautifully decorated and was recently redone. It is staffed by a lovely group of dedicated people. Bill was our favorite bartender and made us fabulous cocktails in the parlor. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts served by a wonderful server, Kamron. We would recommend this inn. There was no daily room care but if you requested towels or such, they would bring it.
Lovely old inn right near the ocean. Great breakfast served on the porch outside with ocean views. Very helpful staff. Quiet and relaxing being outside of Rockport itself but within a short drive of the town.
Historic, beautifully kept inn with fabulous views of of the ocean, and short drive to Rockport’s shops, museums and restaurants. Tastefully decorated with lovely paintings. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice breakfasts served on the veranda. Also had one excellent dinner. Definitely an inn to return to!
Very old New England inn overlooking the ocean, with small but cozy and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast served on the porch. Quiet neighborhood location. On site parking. Contrary to Trip Advisor, this inn does accept pets for a fee. No elevator but staff will assist with luggage. Very nice for older couples.
