The Masthead is a group of small cottages and an inn with single rooms on the water and on the edge of Provincetown. It is quaint and charming with a lot of character. . There is a superb bar and restaurant about a five-minute walk. I have stayed there a couple of times per season for over 25 years and enjoy it very much. The same family has owned ond run it for many years. It's truly unique!
1st week open and the Masthead didn’t miss a beat. Love the new “no contact” check-in and texting systems. The grounds looked great, the staff was well trained and Covid precautions were evident everywhere on the property. Our family stayed in 41A and 41C and both were pristine.
We stayed in a really cute waterfront cottage with 3 bedrooms for a girls weekend. It was a perfect venue. There were many spaces to gather, from the living room in the cottage, to the porch right off the cottage, to the boardwalk right at the beach. We never felt tight or cramped with six of us. The cottage was quaint - old Cape Cod - with updated kitchen and baths. It had a cozy feel to it and good vibe. It was well stocked with what you would need; the linens were fresh, the beds were comfortable and it was very clean. The location is really the sell here. You can just wake up, take a few steps, and walk the beach, walk into town for coffee. We walked a few doors down for happy hour ... The ocean as the backdrop was simply spectacular. If it's low tide you can walk for miles it seems out into the harbor. The staff was super friendly. They seemed to be around keeping the grounds, the boardwalk and the cottages tidy. They were very outgoing and friendly toward guests and seemed delighted that we were having a good time.…
We had a fantastic stay at the Masthead for a family birthday! The weather was amazing! Ocean views were spectacular and our rooms were superb! Beautiful walk to downtown shopping and restaurants and so close to Herring Cove and Race Point! Staff was very helpful with all our questions!
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the family owned/run paradise: the masthead. We shared a private suite and felt safely secluded from other guests. All staff were conscientious and friendly while wearing their masks. It is an ideal location for strolling through downtown Provincetown and relaxing in front of gorgeous seaside views. We enjoyed our afternoon at Long Point and ate dinner in the west end near the hotel. Provincetown is ensuring visitors’ safety by requiring masks and providing numerous outdoor seating options. We will definitely come back to the masthead and highly recommend anyone who is looking to visit stay there. It is the perfect blend between nautical nostalgia and modern amenities. I can’t recommend the masthead enough.
