Detailed Reviews
My wife and I recently took a mini-honeymoon trip to Provincetown, and stayed at Snug Cottage, and we already cannot wait to go back.
First, the details: There is parking directly across the street, and check in was a breeze. We stayed in the Bristol suite, which included a comfy bed, a fireplace (with wood, newspaper, and lighter), a nice sized sitting area with a couch, coffee table, and TV, and a 3-sided window seat. There were plenty of windows so the in-room air conditioning was not always needed, but worked wonderfully when it was. The bathroom was clean and had all the amenities one would expect from a hotel stay, and a couple more (don't typically get toothpaste and mouthwash where I stay).
The proprietors are incredibly friendly, and while our interactions with them were brief as we were constantly on the go, we could tell they pour their passion into the cottage and guest experience. When we arrived they ensured our fridge was stocked, including a bottle of white wine. There is also a Nespresso machine, though we did not need to use it. Breakfast was brought to the room each morning, and included a jar of oatmeal, yogurt, orange juice, and pastries.
This was definitely a house converted to an inn, but it gives the place a very comfortable feel, and does not lack for any of the cleanliness, service, or amenities one would expect in a regular hotel. We were thrilled with it.
As for location, it is an easy walk to just about anywhere in town. Commercial St is just a couple blocks away. We only needed a car to get to the beach. Otherwise, walking was no hassle.
In short, this is a lovely cottage in a perfect location and we felt taken care of the whole time. 10/10 will stay again, and cannot recommend it enough!

Needing a last minute room for one night during Pride 2021, my choices were limited. Snug Cottage came through with a wonderful room (their least expensive opening due to a last-minute cancellation), one of two available at the property. All other properties were three times the distance away from town. With all the "in-town" rooms sold out, Snug offered a quality room, continental breakfast, luxurious bed linens, an insanely comfy mattress, a wonderfully charming historical property with lovely gardens - and the owners/managers were wonderfully pleasant and helpful. And a reasonable 15 minute walk to the main attractions. A lucky last minute find that makes me want to book again.

I've gone to Provincetown the last few years and decided after my last trip to splurge a little more on a room away from the Commercial Street hijinks. This was easily my favorite stay. Friendly people who provided breakfast foods each morning plus delicious seltzers (Polar for the win) stocked in the fridge daily. They upgraded my room to a suite with no cost. The room was incredible and I was given the amount of privacy I really do need on these solo trips. Parking was good and as usual with PTown everything was at a walkable distance. If and when I ever return to Provincetown, I definitely do want to see if rooms are available here. It's cozy, quaint, and well-run as a sapce.

Two couples stayed in first floor rooms. Rooms are fairly small but we had plenty of drawer space for four days. Bathroom and shower were tiny with just a wee bit of space to store products. Good A/C, small refrigerator. Couldn’t figure out the coffee maker in the room and no instructions. Beach towels supplied which was nice. Common Sitting area was comfy. Masks required in the common space.
We weren’t supplied instructions for arrival and called the innkeeper who said he would send someone over. Never showed. We poked around until we found the only employee who we saw while we were there, who showed us to our rooms. She was kind and seemed to be the only one working there, in the kitchen and cleaning rooms.
Breakfast was continental. Delicious croissants but were fresh on day one and stale by day 3. Keurig coffee. Room clean/towel service by request, not automatic. Room was in need of repairs i.e. gaps between walls and ceiling.
It would have been nice to have information about check in, breakfast, wifi, room services, etc and to have seen the innkeeper sometime during our four day stay. Not what i typically expect from a B&B.

This place is heavenly. I booked very last minute and they were so friendly and accommodating. Jared was so kind and helpful. It’s in an excellent location as it’s close to everything but it is just far enough away from the main bustle that it feels incredibly peaceful and relaxing. They have very fancy toiletries, gorgeous beds and lovely bathrooms. Can’t wait to come back.

I can not say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Snug Cottage! The service from ownership and staff was impeccable. The inn is well located, close to all the usual Ptown attractions yet tucked away and protected from the sometimes intense thoroughfare of Commercial Street. This is our new favorite home-away-from-home.

This was my very first stay at Snug Cottage. It was a different experience than the norm due to COVID.
No breakfast Buffett. They prepared individual breakfasts left at your door each morning. No cocktail hour allowed. They provided a nice bottle of chilled wine with glasses.
Though the rules made it difficult for the Innkeeper they did their best to overcome and make it a good experience. They even provided a ride back to the ferry. I will visit again.

Stayed in the Victoria Suite for four nights. There was a mix up at check in where we were switched rooms from our booked room. The bed was the worst bed I’ve ever experienced- hard and sloping to the center. Several nights I moved to the couch (on my honeymoon!) The bathroom is as small as possible and very cramped. Our last night, there was no hot water and we were unable to shower. Several mornings, the house keeper attempted to enter our room prior to 10 AM. We will not be returning.

Lovely cottage a quick walk to the center of town. Owners were very helpful and personable. We hope to return soon! The private garden/patio was our favorite place to relax. We really appreciated the umbrellas and beach chairs that were available for guest use.

OK. I just want to let you know up front that this is the first unglowing review I've left. I tend to err on the side of positivity and understanding. Feel free to check out my other reviews on Airbnb. That being said, this will not be one of those reviews. I'll try to be as accurate as possible. To answer the first question - how was I made to feel welcome? Well - we arrived on Friday to a sign that read "unfortunately I am unable to be here for your arrival, but will be returning around 6:15. Please find your key in an envelope in the desk below". First problem - There wasn't an envelope with our name! The sign also said if there was any problem to call Tim's cell phone. Ring Ring. No answer. Upon poking around the property and a few well placed "Hello - is anyone there" attempts, I was greeted by a (to be fair) very friendly foreigner who was very apologetic about the situation. He proceeded to try to call Tim. After several attempts, as well as a strategic call to AirBnb we finally made contact. Tim was less than apologetic, mumbling something about his main scheduling not being synced with Airbnb. Ironic that the first place that I have ever had an issue was a guesthouse that is an actual business, as opposed to a privately owned home. He did agree to let us pick another non-dog friendly room even though we had a dog, offering us a "free upgrade". Great - we actually have a place to stay now. Oh and by the way - we had been chatting back and forth with Tim over the course of two weeks so it was surprising that we weren't on his schedule. We felt like a VIP for about three seconds while we got to pick from the other rooms, until I checked their website and realized the rate we were charged on Airbnb was the SAME as the "free upgrades" we were offered. It led me to believe that he up-charged us for the original room. At the end of the day - the room was OK but not worth the rate. We also felt very little hospitality during our stay. I could go on, but am nearing my word count :) The second question - was the ad accurate. Absolutely not on the breakfast. Imagine expecting a "buffet" in a delightful bed and breakfast experience and being delivered less than a Holiday Inn continental. Last question - area. AMAZING. I will give them that. Easy and convenient access within walking distance to everything you might want to do during a successful stay in Provincetown. Bottom line - at $275 a night there are many other places you can consider that will deliver real hospitality and actually feel like they care about your stay. Keep this in mind when considering Snug Cottage Guesthouse. Feel free to contact me if you have other questions. Thanks!
