Note: This review is as much about the people of Provincetown as it is about the Crown and Anchor Inn. Recently, I had a very special guest visit from out of the country, and for his first time in America, I wanted him to have the quintessential New England experience, so I booked at the Crown and Anchor Inn. It was an ideal choice! The service and people at the C&A are first rate! I reserved our room by phone with LITTLE RICKY, who was as delightful in person as he was when he made my reservation. SO friendly, accommodating, and informative about everything from where to park our car to unload our luggage, to what events to take advantage of during "Snowbound Leather Weekend". ;-) Great fun, btw! While taking a walk after dinner our first night, a passerby overheard us talking about where we should venture next. His name was CRAIG and as it turns out, manages another local inn, the MOFFET HOUSE. He offered great suggestions: the A House and The Underground. We invited him to join us and it's fair to say, Craig played a big part in making our Ptown stay so fun! In fact, we exchanged our information and have stayed in touch. After a fabulous few days and nights, my overseas-friend realized he'd lost a precious ring! Although we knew the odds were small, we asked Craig to inquire at one of the clubs where we thought it was lost. Craig went above and beyond and inquired at the bars and clubs we visited as well as our hotel. Sure enough, a gentleman working at the C&A--also named CRAIG!--had indeed found the ring on the ramp outside of the hotel! He had been wearing it and happily gave it to Craig #1, who took the time and trouble to mail it to me. Unbelievable. Thank you to BOTH Craigs for your friendship and honesty. It means the world to us! I hope to return to Provincetown within the next year and thank you both again in person. XO

The food was just ok at best. What makes this place is the service and Keith going out of his way to ensure the guest has the best experince. The shows are always good as well. The bar tends to serve watered down drinks.

I've had the pleasure of eating here a few times. The meal was always very good, the service staff was very friendly. In particular Armand and Keith are stellar employee"s that go out of their way to please you! The bonus is that if you have tickets for a show at their venue you can get reserved seating. The ticket booth for the shows is located right next to the restaurant. They have outdoor seating also and the service is good there also. This time I had tickets for 3 shows there and each one was very entertaining! We had a great time. Keep up the good work, we all appreciate your efforts!

The downside: uninformed front desk (completely not what i expected - like, really out of it - no printer but offered to print me a bill of my room, no idea how to get a pedicab to the property, no luggage storage area (just cluttering the lobby) and no idea how to get a room clean if they missed the make room up sign that hung there for three hours), pitiful continental breakfast, unusually large bathroom with one thing in each corner (one shower, one sink, one toilet), sleigh bed, fireplace with pilot light still on but won't turn on. The upside: the balcony. The room could be incredible but no money has been spent on it in a while. Oh, what I could do that make this room spectacular. The bones are there. Other upsides: the venue, the outdoor bar, the piano bar below and the hosts in the restaurant. Other downsides: nasty piano bar bartenders - just not friendly or engaging. Seriously, you talk to me and i'm tipping you really, really well. She could have made a bundle with the 8 of us but instead we got a cold stare and the check. The restaurant servers couldn't have been more friendly so it was just odd the bartender was pissed off both times i was there.
