We stayed just the one night and befor arriving recieved a call that there was some construction work going on and tgat there would not be any breakfast served. Forewarned is fore armed! The staff were really friendly and there was plenty of complimentary hot drinks in the foyer.

The sea facing rooms were really nice, but at this time of year we did have to put the heater on. It was amazing to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves!

Being from the UK it is difficult to gauge value for money, without any breakfast the $245 a night room seemed expensive, but the spectacular views made up for that somewhat.

While this isn’t a 4 star resort by a long shot, it is special for what it is, not what it is not. It is a family friendly motel right on a beautiful beach close to Plymouth MA. If you are looking for deluxe linens and spotless rooms, probably not for you. Beds are comfortable and a little sand from the beach you are on never hurt anyone. Check in gal was friendly. We were surprised and delighted by live music in the restaurant and good Jamaican food. The Manhattans were massive and tasty. The music was appealing to the older crowd in attendance and perfectly timed, 6:30 pm- 9:30. Clearly they are trying to spruce the place up and some decor was more up to date than others. I could have lived without the second amendment plaques in every room, hung along with beachy sayings plaques. A bit incongruous but hey, so are the times. There was a sturdy metal stairway down to the beach so easy to get your toes in the sand. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi along with an outdoor pool, all nice and clean. Not sure why the terrible reviews, guess there are are crabs on land as well as in the sea. Here’s to smooth sailing.

This was truly one of the most comfortable places I have been to. The ENTIRE staff was friendly, always spoke to you actually made you feel welcome. The rooms were very clean. Our room had a baloney and it was just amazing. I am glad to say, we will be back without a doubt.

First, this isn’t a hotel. It’s a motel. Some of the rooms open directly into the parking lot. Other rooms look directly at the parking lot.

Ironically, our room (with an inside door) was actually kind of nice. Updated floors, furniture and decor. But that was the only positive. Why would the owners invest so much money in the rooms (where guests just sleep) and completely ignore the rest of the motel?

The lobby, indoor pool area, “restaurant” and outdoor deck look like they have not changed since the 1970s. The restaurant, such as it is, is closed except for breakfast…which consisted of a toaster, a waffle machine and some cereal. The owner junk piled up behind the restaurant counter.

There is no access to the beach, unless you want to climb over giant rocks. (There seems to be an accessible beach a 2-minute drive from the motel.) The only access to the water is a rickety metal staircase that drops directly into the sea. How is this safe?

The old restaurant directly next door is shut down and falling apart. Boarded up windows, graffiti, empty beer cans, broken pavement. It looks post-apocalyptic. Not much the hotel owners can do about that, but why don’t they put up a fence?

All this might be acceptable if the staff were nice. When we checked in, we asked if we could change from a room with a view of the parking lot to one with a bay view. The clerk replied, “You already paid for this room.” There were clearly empty bay-view rooms, but I guess they didn’t want any extra money from us.

The next morning at breakfast, an older guest asked an employee if there were any plastic knives. The employee just ignored him.

Let me start off by saying that this particular hotel holds a special place in my heart as I stayed here several times as a child. It WAS always extremely well kept, the staff WAS kind, it WAS tastefully decorated and WAS a peaceful family-oriented place to stay. However, new ownership is making all the wrong decisions to keep up with the old standards. For starters, they no longer have beach access, which is a huge disappointment! It would be better if they had no breakfast at all, considering they only provide bagels, bread, one type of cereal and waffle mix. The waffle mix ran out an hour before breakfast was over and they had zero interest replenishing it. Having said that, the same worker runs the desk and has no personality to be working with the public. He's not rude but looks miserable to be there and it makes your stay feel that much more uncomfortable because you can see he could care less about your presence. They seem to be losing focus on the stay, and spending more of their attention on getting outsiders in to use the bar. Perhaps they are getting by with the money made from the restaurant/bar, but they are forgetting about those that are spending the night. I will say that the women that runs the bar is very friendly, and the food was very good! But the New England Charm that the hotel used to bear, is now combined with a Miami vibe which just doesn't fit the scene. It is extremely tacky looking and has a picture of nude women on the wall that just doesn't seem appropriate for the setting considering families like ours are staying. Another distasteful display is the bright aggressive signs everywhere that read "no food, no drinks, in pool & hot tub area. $200 Fine" I understand the reasoning behind no food and certain drinks in that area, but it seems a bit rough displayed in such a manner. Very short staffed! It seemed like the owners were the two-cleaning people, one person ran the desk and two ran the restaurant and they never left. I wondered if they lived there, I guess it shouldn't matter one way or another it's just sad how desperate everything feels. I think it would have been overlooked had they expressed gratitude for their guests, but you're lucky if you even got a smile apart from the friendly woman at the restaurant. Mind you, it breaks my heart to say anything bad about this place considering the years I spent going without a single flaw. I understand things change, but this is not for the good. The entire premises looks run down, and sadly I don't foresee this changing because of their poor customer relations and poor objectives. It's amazing what a can of paint will do. I would hate to see this place continue to go downhill; I really do wish the very best but they must get the courage to lose sight of the shore. Quite literately. they can't depend on alcohol and a pretty view to stay up float. I wish this review to be used as constructive criticism for the owners, because truly I want to continue on with the memories I once had.

Oye, my first online review. Sorry to do this but I feel other travelers should know before getting off a plane with their loves and spending the money. The ocean will always be a pretty view, thats easy but not worth charging what they do. I grew up coming to this property so I did not check reviews in advance. Attempts at remodel have begun, new "wood" floor , new headboards but thats it. Old 70s furniture and smokey wallpaper remain. Lightbulbs out, moldy tubs and slippery tiles made for an uncomfortable stay. Breakfast was pretty bad, stale tiny pastries, coffee was actually spit out. When you look up at a bug zapper and see the message flashing on the TV that the cable bill has to be paid or the account will be cancelled at breakfast that should tell you something. We had a very early flight to catch and nobody was as at the desk to talk to .

This place was NOT clean nor well maintained. The bath tub has no grout and some creapy worm like scorpion bug fell out of the shower curtain and ran up in the cracks between the tile and tub. Towels really rough and scratchy. Tub NOT clean and the nonslip strips were partially unglued. Felt terrible to take a shower on and when I told the desk, he wasn't sure IF maintenance was working that day or if they'd do anything because people don't normally complain about that sort of thing according to him.
Yes, it's hotel on the beach and you should expect some sand and rust, but bathroom door was so swollen you couldn't shut it completely and overall, it just left me with ebee jebees after I saw a roach run across the floor just before the terrible complimentary breakfast was opened. Your choices are a few muffins, plain bagels or bread to toast yourself, cheerios or frosted flakes, Activia yogurts, apple juice, watered down OJ, one big milk pitcher with no label to share with everyone else, and coffee. Nothing looked wiped down and there didn't seem to be a care to do better.
I am from Florida. I know to expect sand, rust and salty film on things at a beach hotel. This was not what I warn you about here.
Only beach access is a rickety metal staircase that doesn't appear permanent or maintained and deck chairs are not wiped down. Felt dirty sitting down anywhere in this hotel!
Location and view are fantastic but this is overpriced for what they offer. There are other hotels and bed and breakfast options in this same price range that I would suggest considering instead. Yuk.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights. After we checked in and arrived at our room, we were greeted by the smell of cigarette smoke, even though the hotel has many signs posted saying “no smoking”. The room was dirty and small; there was even a dead bug on the wall. We asked for a different room, which the front desk did accommodate. Our second room was bigger and did not have the smell of cigarette smoke. On the side where our room was, there are no direct doors to the outdoor deck from the rooms, but instead you walk through the hotel to get to the deck. This is fine and my family and I had no problem with this. Apparently it was too much for other people staying at the hotel; each night we were there we witnessed people opening their screens and literally climbing out the windows even though that section did not have a fence or railing. Each night we had to deal with people right outside our window going back and forth loudly partying til all hours of the night. As stated previously, the hotel says “no smoking” but people on the deck were smoking marijuana as well as cigarettes. People were banging on the doors and you could hear every conversation from the hallway. There is no accountability or enforcing of the hotel rules from the front desk. The only thing that saves this hotel is the location to the beach. The hotel has amazing views, but no beach access as they have not replaced the stairs that lead to the beach, so if you want to go on the beach you’re on your own to scale down the large rocks. If you are traveling with a family or young children I would not recommend staying here as it is not a good family environment. The rooms were never cleaned during our stay; the maids never came to freshen our rooms up or to provide us with extra toiletries (we had to get them from the front desk). Due to COVID-19, the restaurant and bar onsite was closed, which in hindsight may have been a blessing in disguise due to the already ridiculous noise level. As a side note, the indoor pool and hot tub are still closed. The only staff I saw was one person working at the desk. There was no one to check to make sure only hotel patrons are using the outdoor pool. Overall, very poor experience; stay at your own risk!

When we arrived there was booming music in the lobby on a level which made talking to the woman at the front desk a chore that it didn't need to be.

The room was decent looking and clean. The style choices were a little odd, having three different kinds of lamps in the room.

The door was really difficult to lock and unlock with the room keys. We had to lock the knob from the inside before shutting the door whenever we left. It's just weird to not be able to stand outside the door and lock it normally with a key.

Walls were paper thin and we could hear the people in the neighboring room, who also happened to be unnecessarily loud.

The wifi connection was awful. The wifi kept going in and out repeatedly, making it unusable.

Room service, or a guest, left dirty towels and a trash bag in the hallway on a table, and it was still there when we left.

They did not provide shampoo, body wash and conditioner. They provided us with these teeny tiny bars of soap to wash up with. I elected to just take a shower when we returned home, rather than use the one in our room. My mother thought the shower was okay. The water pressure in the toilet was awful.

Restaurant was closed on the day we were there, and when we inquired why the front desk attendant gave us an attitude.

All things considered it was a disappointing stay.

Although the amenities listed online made the property look like a bargain, it was not ideal. The pool was closed, there was no continental breakfast, the bar was small, and the entire lobby smelled smoke and weed. There is not even a vending machine on-site, and we had to drive back into town to go to a gas station for bottled water. The room was dirty. It looked like the room might have been out of use for some time due to dust and the fact there were coffee stains on the table and blinds to the curtain in the room. We cut our stay short. We didn't ask for a discount or refund due to knowing about the cancellation policy before booking. We can't recommend this place for a stay—Escpailly during the busy season. The room wasn't worth it when it was less than $100, and it is not worth it when it's over $300 come summertime.

what's the difference with which wing one stays in?
Answer from joseph t
The north wing has its doors on the inside and a majority of the queen and king size beds, while the south wing has cheaper prices, and instant beach access with the patio being right there. Both wings have balconies on the second floor! The north wing also has the hotels two suites!
