Situated at the foot of dormant volcano Mt Shadwell, Mortlake is the centre of the rich agricultural and pastoral Great South Coast region of Victoria. From fishing to gem fossicking in the volcanic rocks of Mt Shadwell, Mortlake has it all. The thriving rural town on the Hamilton Highway has a variety of eating spots, great sporting facilities including a 50-metre swimming pool, skate park, historic bluestone precinct and a relaxed country atmosphere. Mortlake Caravan Park is ideally situated within the beautiful Tea Tree Lake reserve and gardens and provides ample open space for leisurely strolls or for the kids to play. Centrally located and within walking distance to all attractions, Mortlake Caravan Park is a great base for exploring the town, trying your luck at trout fishing in Tea Tree Lake and gem fossicking at Mount Shadwell.

We enjoyed our caravan stay at Mortlake C P. We used it as a base to day trip visit Pt Fairy, WBool, and surrounds. Paul was an excellent host and could not do enough for us. Giving us the choice of grass orshade in the 40 plus weather conditions. The park is well groomed and tidy. It has everything from local bowls, local swimpool, skate park, pubs, lake with a pier for young anglers, birdlife. Rates were excellent value and amenities were spot on. thankyou. Phill and Judy

We, a family of four, had a fantastic stay at Mortlake Caravan Park. This place is like an oasis, close to the tea tree lake and gardens and quite a contrast to the dry paddocks driving in. We stayed here and drove into and explored Warrnambool only roughly 30 minutes away. We loved our walks around the lake and trying our luck catching a fish, but maybe next time we will catch one. We only wished we could stay longer... Thanks Paul for your hospitality.

We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed at this park. It is surrounded by park, a lake and a beautiful rose garden nearby. Amenities are spotless and an added touch of bathmats supplied, hot showers. Short stroll into the town that has a couple of food places. Very quiet.

What a lovely caravan park. Paul welcomed us and gave us lots of options to park up van. All were great. Bathroom facilities were very clean and even provided a bath mat. The camp kitchen was also good. I would highly recommend this park

I have nothing negative to say about this park. The manager is friendly and very helpful. Choose to stay on an open grass site or on a gravel site with a hedge for privacy. The facilities are a little old but are kept perfectly clean - with complementary bath mats included. There is no road noise at this park. Only 4 hours from Melbourne, Mortlake is a hidden gem. Fossick at the local quarry for Olivine or take a foodies drive through surrounding towns. The public pool is right across the road and the main street is within walking distance. I would also recommend stopping in at the butcher and having a chat with Brendan.
