    Decent Stay, Great Customer Service
We stayed at the Boston Marriott Peabody on our trip to Salem since the location was ideal and safe! Upon arrival, the hotel itself was pretty empty and quiet, so checking in was quick and easy. The woman who assisted us at the Front Desk (I don't want to butcher her name) was extremely courteous and helpful. Although we were checked into our first room on the first floor with a broken window lock and mold on the curtains, we were quickly moved to a higher floor after I brought this to the attention of the Front Desk and confirmed that I was a Bonvoy Gold Elite member. After being moved upstairs, the rest of the stay was much more pleasant. The room itself was clean enough, but we still wiped everything down to be safe (and because of our initial room issues). The amenities were acceptable and the room was in decent condition. It was nice that we were able to reserve the Fitness Center for personal use (this was a huge plus)! Overall, our stay was perfectly decent. The Boston Marriott Peabody was quiet, safe, and spacious. Despite our initial issues, the hotel staff quickly remedied the situation and made things right which I commend them for. They also followed COVID-19 protocols pretty well, which I was definitely thankful for!

Great hotel with easy access to local attractions
This hotel, although not a new hotel, has a lot to offer. It is a hotel that has a banquet hall for weddings and such plus a few meeting rooms to hold other events. A wedding was held there during the Saturday of our 7 night stay, but we missed those festivities as we were out sightseeing in one of the towns nearby. That is probably the best selling pt for the hotel - it's proximity to other areas on the North Shore. The main lobby was kind of strange though as the path from the front doors to the front desk was easily visible from the bar/lounge area. That seemed a bit awkward as people watchers at the bar would be able to see everybody who entered the hotel. Maybe making the bar/lounge area a bit more separate would alleviate that issue. Regardless of that the room was perfect - a king size bed, a large flat screen TV, a coffee maker with supplies, and a well appointed and clean bathroom with linens, but it only had a very small fridge which could have been larger. The bedding was fine, although the bed itself seemed old and probably needed replacement as I seemed to wind up in the middle every morning. Oh yeah, maybe a room safe should also be available. The other great selling point is the pool. It was well maintained and very clean. The pool area was lacking lounge chairs but a large number of lounge chairs seemed to have been brought to the small area outside next to the pool. Some of those should be brought in every night. There also needs to be smaller tables that can fit between the lounge chairs as the only tables in the pool area were 3 large round ones with 4 normal chairs around each of them. The other good selling pt for the hotel was the restaurant. The food was great, but the menu was limited. And last but definitely not least, the final selling point was the staff. All of the staff from behind the front desk to housekeeping were great. They all seemed to make our stay enjoyable fulfilling all of our small requests - from extra bathroom linens to change for the soda machine. Speaking of which, when we stayed there the soda machines seemed to work well enough, but as our stay drew to a close, those same soda machine started giving me problems with not giving change and not giving back my money. The hotel staff was great about it, but we were told that the service guy was coming the day we were to leave to service those machines. If it was a known problem that the soda machines weren't working properly, a sign on each stating "Out of Order" would have been appropriate. All in all, though, it was a great stay.

Old and basic but no problems
Staying at this hotel was a great time travel experience back to the 1970’s. Because I have to guess that Pretty much nothing in this property has changed since then. Room: it was clean. In wall AC provided plenty of cooling but an in wall unit is more of what I’d expect at a lower level property. Large screen tv with good selection of channels. Bathroom was basic but functional with pump dispensers in the shower for shampoo, conditioner, soap. One bar of soap provided for sink. Some proven floor tiles and a basic vanity. View was of parking lot with wooded backdrop. I don’t think there is such a thing as a room with a good view here as it is just a stand along property off the highway. But absolutely no highway noise. And ample parking. Amenities; minimal gym. Small indoor pool. Starbucks in lobby. Bar. Restaurant- breakfast was limited to menu service although buffet options were listed no buffet existed. Looks like there is an option for outdoor seating. Really nothing wrong but it is also nothing to write home about. And below what I usually experience in a full service Marriott. Not a good location if you are planning on touring Boston or doing business in the city. but a decent launch point to enjoy the north shore or do business north of the city. All staff were friendly.
Dear bjhotel, Thank you for taking the time to write a review from your recent stay. While it seems we missed the mark to really wow you, based on your comments the items that we have control over, such as staff service, was on point. Hopefully with some tweaks and changes we can win you over the next time you stay with us.

The hotel was immaculate. All the staff were friendly and worked very hard. The rooms were nice, parking was free, and the price was very reasonable considering how close it is to Boston. We appreciate having a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, and grab and go. The best part of the hotel was the beautiful pool with water that sparkled - loved it.

This was a basic suburban Marriott. The rooms are dated but clean. The beds (I think they are double beds?) felt very small and were cramped even to have one adult and kid sleep in. My kids enjoyed the pool area, and the on-site restaurant was decent.

Fantastic hotel! From the moment we checked in to check out the hotel and staff were fantastic!! The property is clean, as was our room. We were given an upgrade to the club floor and had access to water and snacks which was wonderful as we were en route to Fenway for the game. It was an easy drive in and out of the city. Highly recommend!

Starting with the good: Breakfast was good Lobby seating area was nice and worked well for meeting with colleagues. Now the bad: I was in a corner, accessible room. First thing I noticed was how dated the bathroom was. It was also dirty, not the kind of dirty housekeeping can fix, it was the kind of dirty that it needed to be tore out and re-done. As I was getting ready for bed, I noticed something that appeared to be blood on the sheets. I called the front desk and they sent up someone from housekeeping who stripped the bed in order to change out all of the bedding and to my horror the mattress looked to be from the 90s with bodily fluid stains on it. She offered to have the front desk put me in a new room but was told there were no more rooms. She remade the bed with clean linens and left. When I was finally able to get into bed, my assumptions about the mattress being 20+ years old were confirmed. The mattress was the most uncomfortable Marriott bed I've ever slept in. I will not be returning.

If ZERO stars were an option I would have selected that. Top three worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Outdated room, rude staff, poor safety measures and awful service. Caleb at the front desk should not work in a customer facing role. He is rude, talks back and elevates his tone when it’s not necessary. Managers dressing in lime green TShirts and pants that look like yoga pants. People with ties undone and yawning on the clock, during a fire drill as if they were inconvenienced. Ask for a manager nicely and you get told rudely it’s not necessary to speak to a manager. I hope Tara the GM know what’s happening in their hotel. This place needs a makeover— starting with the entire front desk team. Housekeepers are so nice and friendly — the ONLY saving grace of this property. Although sheets did not look clean… BONVOY owners, members and others— don’t stay here if you expect Marriott level service. You won’t get it.

Our stay at your hotel was wonderful!! The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. John at the front desk helped out with a room issue and Michael and Olivia made me the most delicious latte to "brighten" my morning even more!☀️ the pool was lovely to dip my toes in, the bed was comfy, sitting at the bar our last night was a pleasure. We can't wait to visit again!

Worst hotel experience ever! Lobby looked beautiful and promising but Rooms are outdated, felt like staying inside a hospital room during the 70s. Bed wasn’t comfortable, pull out bed in couch looked like it hadn’t been cleaned and it was denting in the middle , extremely uncomfortable. Booked directly from their app and i was under the impression there was free breakfast. There wasn’t. Bathroom had last guests hair on the floor tiles. I have no idea why Mariott would place their name on this. Save yourself the money and avoid this place .

I booked a stay in October 16th using Marriot Bonvoy reward certificate. It was a birthday gift and looked forward very much to visiting Salem during Halloween. Due to a unfortunate and terrible situation my 10 year old had a heart arrhythmia and I had to take her into the hospital missing my stay. The hotel billed me as a no show for the entire amount of the stay $322 and has refused to work with me at all even after opening explaining the situation and opening dispute case through Marriott Bonvoy. I have been a loyal Marriot Bonviy member for 16 years and am completely disgusted by the hotels lack of compassion or understanding.

We were visiting Salem and this place was pretty close. After spending a ton of money on parking in Boston, we were happy to just park for free here. The hotel is probably fairly old and traditional, but it's nice and it's a place to stay. I imagine it has all the amenities like pool, etc. but we weren't really staying for that purpose. Breakfast buffet looked fine and half our party ate it, but not me personally. It is not included generally at the "Marriott." (Some of their other branded hotels, it is.....) Overall, it's a nice place to stay if you need to be in the area and you want to stay at a chain hotel for the points earning or to increase your status. OR JUST NEED A NICE CLEAN BED AT A GOOD CHAIN.

We took an overnight trip to Salem Mass. Hotels right in Salem are over 400$ a night. This Marriott is 13 min away. It was PERFECT! Hotel staff is incredible, rooms, pool, hot tub all immaculate. The city has easy parking lots with free trolly service right into the heart of Salem. The last trolly is 8pm, however we were able to use Lyft with no issues right to the lot. This Marriott is a gem!!!! I highly recommend it!!
