This was my third stay at the Nauset Beach Inn and hopefully I’ll have many more. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the grounds immaculate, and incredible ocean views from every room. It’s a two minute walk from the room to the beach, and the location is great to use as a base for other day trips on the Cape. Highly recommend!

We have stayed here a few times and already have our next visit booked. Such a great spot all year round. The rooms are clean and cozy . They are the perfect Cape Cod cottage experience. The view from the room is amazing. This last trip we were watching the birds diving into the water along with a whale spouting and breaching while we ate breakfast it was amazing.

This was our 2nd stay at Nauset Beach Inn. Our stay last November was so restorative that we did it this year too…plus added a room for my sister. Both visits were amazing. The 5 nights this time proved just as relaxing as last year. Comfortable rooms and Bedding. Towels that are absorbent, which are refreshed daily in your room rate, if you choose. Housekeeping was professional, accommodating and efficient. Room was always super clean. Now, the Beach and Ocean. Just look out your rooms windows, open them a bit and the sound of the waves Are magical. Take a walk on the beach, watch a sunrise from the Adirondack Chairs, watch the moonrise from the lawn or fire pit. This Inn is a classic Cape Cod experience filled with nostalgia and new traditions.

First let me say I never give a bad review but I guess I will no be able to say that again. We did not have the opportunity to stay at this inn/hotel so this is not a review of the property. I made reservations a few days ago for Dec 31st. It is an annual trip that my husband and I with a few other couples do. The purpose is to attend Chatham’s First night. I guess I jumped the gun a little. I am I nurse and thought I would have New Years off this year because I worked last year. But, no, I am on the schedule again this year. I just found this out so I call the Property to cancel immediately. Seeing as I did this 3 months in advance I figured there would be no charge. So I was shocked when I was told we would be charged $40. Restocking fee? Service fee? Ridiculous! This is my fault, I did not read the fine print. But really? I am a local Cape Codder and would hope that a courtesy would be extended. I am out $40, they on the other hand will have some pretty bad PR. I have a big mouth and love to share my experiences with anyone who will listen

Response from David Henchy, Owner at Nauset Beach Inn
Responded Jan 16, 2023
Hello, I am sorry did not see this earlier. Yes we have a cancllation fee for all cancelled reservations of $39.00 which you can find clearly on our web site and the two emails you recived, also included on booking page. https://www.nausetbeachinn.com/rates-policies/ . That being said we hate to have an upset customer please call the office and we can sort this out for you. People somestimes do not see emails and life is busy, I personally have missed charges like this myself. Give a call and ask Cameron or Liz for my number. We will refund you. Again sorry if you felt bad. Dave

Beautiful view, the staff is unresponsive, and biting bugs are out of control. Rooms are outdated, rooms are not completely clean upon check-in. Staff staged our room to make us look like we left a mess in the room in order to charge a $250 cleaning fee. Avoid.

The only reason Nauset Beach Inn deserves even 1 star is because of the location. It is gorgeous. In my opinion, the downsides (bugs, dirty rooms, undisclosed fees, rude manager, lack of amenities, etc) outweigh the view since you can find this view many many places on the Cape. The biggest complaint I have is my credit card has repeatedly been charged random amounts without my permission, including a random $850 days AFTER we checked out. We were able to get $600 of it refunded because they recognized it as an error, but if I hadn't caught it, the charge would have stood. Additionally, we were charged a $250 cleaning fee despite there being no mention of a potential cleaning fee on their website, any of our contracts, or any email correspondence (including the check-in welcome email, or in our wedding contract). Furthermore, there were no instructions on expectations for cleaning disclosed nor the proper tools. Their complaint was we left a large bag of trash and boxes with recycling, but they only provided us with one bag, so of course, it will be full. There were also no instructions on requirements to dispose of trash in a dumpster, and no maid service during our stay for trash to be taken out or new bags to be provided. To add insult to injury, my entire family spent HOURS cleaning up the entire venue (we were there for my wedding), and I had my mom, aunt, and mother-in-law all help make sure we cleared out of my room properly despite the room being dirty when we arrived (disgusting refrigerator which then. froze everything, floors so dirty my feet were black in minutes, random old food and trash in cupboards, dead bugs in corners, trash in drawers, etc.). Yep, that is right. They charged us a $250 cleaning fee for a room we spent hours cleaning ourselves at the beginning, throughout, and end of our trip. Lastly, on our final invoice, the pet fee is listed as $279, but we were charged $297. A small discrepancy, but after randomly being charged for multiple items without warning, it adds up, and their outright refusal to fix the error is infuriating. We attempted to work with Liz to make this situation right, but she simply stopped responding to our emails. My secondary complaint was the bugs! This may not be under their control, but I have to warn you - I have never had so many bug bites in my life. Every single person that attended our wedding was eaten alive. We purchased bug spray, citronella candles, and bug repellant lanterns - nothing worked. Additionally, there are no amenities, even basic ones. The maid service they say will come by unless told not to never even stopped by to check on us. The firepits they boast about were turned off early on 2/4 nights. There are no beach towels, chairs, or umbrellas. Furthermore, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. They are lumpy and extremely soft. Plus, the A/C in the cottage only worked in the back and main room, so the front room was EXTREMELY hot. Lastly, it is impossible to get anyone on the phone to help with booking, and email correspondence is spotty and slow. Even when you are there, it is extremely difficult to catch someone working, and when you do finally get someone, they either can't help or are rude.

I stayed here for New Years weekend and had a blast. I was able to bring my dog, we both felt comfortable and welcomed. We were in room #2 and the view was beautiful. My friend booked the room for me so she gets the email list perks if she shares any deals with me I’d definitely would return. Save space for all!!!

This is our second year coming to Nauset Beach Inn for three nights. We had a wonderful time and visit despite the weather not being the greatest. But even on the two days that were basically rained-out, the weather cleared by late afternoon and the evenings were very nice. We would go out and sit at the fire ring, and on both evenings were engaged in pleasant conversations with the owner, Dave, and his friend and helper, Bob. They were very nice people. The rooms are very clean and the views are amazing. Each room has a gas stove to take the chill away in the evening. A simple continental breakfast is provided every morning from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The costs have been increasing but where aren't they? We will probably consider returning.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Nauset Beach Inn in Orleans, MA this past January for a long, birthday weekend. We'd heard about this lovely Inn on a radio program we often listen to and we were excited to book a stay. Though it was winter, our room was wonderfully cozy with a gas fireplace to warm things up. The rooms are heated, and furnished with comfortable beds and rocking chairs. We had a huge picture window with a breathtaking view of the ocean and beach beyond. We also had an outdoor patio and fire pit, which was lit for us in the afternoons by the owner himself, with whom we enjoyed a fireside chat. It was such a relaxing visit and I'm sure we'll be booking another stay at the lovely Nauset Beach Inn.

The location of this property is what attracted us as it is right on the amazing Cape Cod National Seashore and one of the best beaches on the East Coast. The photos on the website were helpful and very accurate. Rooms are well kept and clean and all have incredible ocean views. Our room was extra for a private deck and gas firepit that I didn't expect to be able to use in February but it's quite large and gave off plenty of heat (though it was a warm day)...nevertheless, it was a great added feature that we enjoyed while watching the sunset. There is a firepit in the main lawn for rooms that don't have one. The property is small but we liked that as it was very quiet. Either due to the offseason or because of COVID the office was not manned and everything was done remote via email but we only stayed one night so this did not present a problem for us. There was a gas stove in the room that did not work. The beach is amazing, even in February - we had one warm lovely day and one cold day that required a lot of additional clothes but I still enjoyed it. American Woodcocks vocalizing and displaying at sunset was an added bonus. Because it was the offseason, not a lot of restaurants were open. We will probably come back in the Fall offseason. In February 2022 there is construction going on in the adjacent lot and though this did not bother us as noise stopped around 4pm, when rates go up in the Summer, it might be worth asking about it's progress.
