My wife and I made our first trip (and will not be the last) to Martha's Vineyard for Mother's Day weekend. We joined another couple who chose The Madison Inn. (We had NO knowledge of the town or the Madison Inn prior to our stay) The cleanliness and the friendliness of the Inn were what we encountered first. Mary, who owns the place, was a delight in so many ways! She welcomed us royally and showed us to our room which, I believe, was a mini-suite. This room (#16) was so spacious, well-appointed and modern, that we felt at home immediately. There was a 24 hour coffee/tea/snack bar right outside our room, so my caffeine and snack habits were well taken care of throughout. The Madison Inn was beautifully situated in the heart of Oak Bluffs, adjacent to dining, drinking and beaching. (too cold for beaching right now) We are already talking about a return visit in September. (Get ready for us, Mary!) This is an establishment that i wholeheartedly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at the Madison Inn. We felt very safe with the COVID precautions and appreciated the fresh air in the lobby. The courtyard was the perfect place to enjoy the evening, and we loved the coffee station that was available 24 hours/day. Our room was spacious for 4 adults and the beds were comfortable. We even had a view of the ocean. The only downside was parking. We easily found a parking spot in the free public parking nearby, but this could be difficult on a busy summer weekend. Overall, I would highly recommend this inn, especially if you are coming to the island without a car.

This was my husband's and my first trip trip to Marthas's Vineyard and I chose the Madison because of its online photos, excellent reviews and great location close to the ferry. The Madison over delivers in every way. Zac,who was working the front desk when we checked in,could not have been friendlier or more informative. While there is a comprehensive restaurant list available, we asked Zac to recommend a restaurant for our first night. We took his recommendation and had a delicious dinner at the Lookout Tavern. So great in fact, that we ate there twice! Any request or question we had from extra toiletries to a place to store our luggage was immediately satisfied by Zac. We met the inn's owner, Mary, during checkout. She had been incredibly responsive to several emails before our stay and was warm and friendly. The location was perfect with so much available within walking distance-shopping,restaurants, the charming gingerbread cottages, and beaches.Overall,we could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Madison. It was our first stay at the Madison but most definitely not our last.

We recently stayed here for two nights for our mini-moon. The hotel is in a perfect location in Oak Bluffs and walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Circuit Avenue, the ferry, and Inkwell Beach (5 min walk!). We arrived a little early but were able to store our luggage while we went to lunch. When we came back, we were able to check-in early. I must say, the hotel was very clean which is extremely important these days. After handing our credit card, she wiped it as well as the pen! There was also hand sanitizer around the first floor. We stayed in room 5 which was great since it was upstairs and towards the back. Our room was cozy and clean. We also found a box of chocolates and a note wishing us a happy mini-moon -- which was a very nice surprise (thank you again!). The hotel had a storage room where you can borrow beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and more. There was no breakfast at this time due to COVID, but there were granola bars and fruit out all day. The freezer was also stocked with popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. These touches always make a stay much more enjoyable. The hotel also has a little courtyard area. Quiet hours begin at 10pm. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable and comfortable for the price. The price was a little higher on a Friday night vs. Thursday, which makes sense since it was also Labor Day Weekend. I will definitely recommend Madison Inn to friends and family.

Born and raised in Boston, I've been wanting to get to MV for years but never went (first due to cost, then due to traveling to other locations) Because of Covid, I looked closer to home to safely travel this year, but still didn't want to blow my entire travel savings on a "local" trip. I don't know how I found this inn (maybe through Googling?) but I'm SO glad I did! At under $200 a night (in August!!!), I booked as soon as I knew I could take the time off. Some other pluses for me - walking distance to the ferry; each room has its own private bathroom; free beach chairs to use; complimentary coffee/breakfast items. Check-in is firm at 3pm, but there is a room where you can store your items while you take advantage of that first day, so I arrived at noon off the ferry. Very easy to find, and just a few minutes to walk there. The location is excellent, right in the middle of it all. Cozy front porch, and a private "courtyard" for guests to use. My room (#2) was small, but perfect for my solo trip. I prefer to have a little moving air, so instead of a sound machine (which you couldn't hear anyway over the a/c) a fan would have been a nice extra in the summer months. When I did check in to my room, I jumped right into the shower (after waiting out at the beach for a few hours before check-in) and realized there was no shampoo or conditioner, only soap. I used that to wash my hair, but it was waxy and made my hair impossible to blowdry. I spent a frustrating amount of time rinsing twice more and trying to blow it dry, but it did nothing. I was upset about not providing toiletries, but was told they just forgot to put them in the shower after cleaning the room. My lesson for the day - check for toiletries BEFORE getting into the shower :) This room also has no view. It's a dirty courtyard. The bed was comfortable for one, and one of the pillows was SO comfy that I wish I could have kept it!
