The Tivoli Inn is the only place I ever want to stay on Martha's Vineyard. Innkeeper Lisa is always gracious and accommodating. A Nor'easter storm prevented us from traveling via ferry for the first two days of vacation and Lisa kept in touch, suggesting last-minute mainland options and checking in to be sure we were safe. The Tivoli was as always clean, well-kept, attractive, and New England-y cozy and charming. Breakfast was a treat with coffee, tea, juice, and food options designed by Lisa, whether fruit parfaits or tasted bagels with cream cheese - different options offered every day and they were all delicious! Lisa has decades of MV knowledge and can recommend many options during your stay. Circuit Ave. location (Oak Bluffs' main street) is close enough to walk to the action yet far away enough where noise is at a minimum. Ocean/beaches a 5-10 minute walk. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas very clean, very well-maintained, and very cute. Some rooms have wraparound porch access or a balcony! Stay in a gingerbread house with a fantastic innkeeper and walkable options galore.

Starting my vacation with Lisa telling me that I wasn't booked for Sunday night was frustrating. I told her she needed to resolve the issue as I had no other place to go since I had a dog. After showing her my email proving my reservation she got the guest to leave my room. The rest of my stay was uncomfortable since I didn't feel welcome.

Yes it is true there was confusion if she would be arriving on Sunday or Monday, August 11 or 12th. Since I was confused I e-mailed her on Aug 1, 2019 10 days prior to her arrival to confirm she would be arriving on Monday August 12th. She replied with a confirmation and in agreement with Monday August 12th arrival. I then erased her name from the reservation book for arrival Sunday August 11th and instead arriving on Monday August 12th. I then booked that room last minute on Sunday on her actual arrival date. The 2 newly arriving guests put their bags in the last room and then left, of course just after this the guest arrived in the lobby which was in the very late afternoon. I told her all my rooms were occupied and I thought she was arriving the next day. I then showed her my sent e-mail with her reply confirmation for her Monday August 12th arrival in the subject line. She replied that she did not read the dates and that she never changed her dates and how could I ever think she changed her arrival date. Her original reservation request was for arriving on Monday for 3 nights and then later inquired about adding Aug. 11th or 15th for a 4th night. I did confirm with her for August 11th arrival on 6/26/19. After reviewing all the e-mails I was confused so this is why I decided on Aug. 1st to send a confirmation e-mail for August 12th arrival in which she replied confirmed and thanked me for the confirmation. I figured if this was not accurate she would let me know ahead of time in her response. Mistakes do happen and I apologize for the misunderstanding we had. To quickly resolve this issue during the busiest week of the season, I was some how able to find the 2 newly arrived guests a room at another inn and gave them a ride to the inn located approx. 5 miles away. Within 10 minutes of her arrival the disgusted guests was able to occupy the room she reserved for 4 days and start her vacation. The other guests were very understanding and thankful that I found them a room and gave them a ride to their destination. This disgusted guest has been to the Tivoli Inn before and inquired last year to stay here but I had no availability. I was kind enough to accept her reservation this year with a dog. I had told her that I am no longer accepting pets during the busy summer season but I would make an exception for her this one last time. You cannot please everyone all of the time and I certainly am not perfect and do make mistakes. It is a extremely rare occasion after 30 years operating the inn that an over booking has occurred. Just last night a local inn overbooked and I was able to accommodate this overbooking for them on a Friday night. Stuff happens and we all need to deal with it.

We really enjoyed our short stay here. Wish it was longer. Away from congested area but not a far walk to the bustling restaurants and shopping section of Oak Bluffs. Lisa was very kind and hospitable. Morning coffee on a porch rocking chair is my cup of tea. Ha.

Love the Tivoli Inn. It has has European feel. Rooms are lovely and comfortable. You feel like your at a long time friends house. The outdoor shower is great . The owner Lisa is a remarkable host, very friendly and great eye for details. The Inn holds about 15 guests and most people interact with each other which creates a fun experience. Located just on the outskirts of downtown making walking easy. Will definitely come back to the Tivoli Inn.

This place had the quaint feel I was hoping for! The safety of the area kept me more than content with my choice of stay, and the owner was friendly and accommodating. I was pleased with an easy check in and check out. The location is perfect, as everything I wanted was walking distance for me. I plan on staying here every time I visit the Vineyard!
