We had a wonderful stay at the Oak Bluffs Inn. Erik, the owner and host could not have been more accommodating or knowledgeable about Martha’s Vineyard and everything there is to offer. He is a man of many talents and he is willing to share them all with his guests. Our morning began with a lovely breakfast prepared by Erik. The waffles are his specialty and are delicious! He is always ready and willing to impart any information needed to help make your day a special one. In the evening Erik entertained guests with a campfire he had prepared either in the yard of the Inn or on the beach. A very special way to end the day on the Vineyard. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
Erik and and Rhonda are fantastic hosts. Always there if/when you wanted them and never around when you wanted some space. The Inn is a 12 - 15 min. easy walk from the OB Ferry terminal and a 15 min. Uber from the VH Ferry terminal. It is perfectly located so that you do no have to have a car if you want to stay in OB. Everything you want is a few minute walk away. The Inn is clean and comfortable and very quiet. We had a great time and will return again - I highly recommend the OBI.
Erik was as gracious a host as Oak Bluffs Inn is beautiful and unpretentious! It was the first journey to the island for our new Grandson and he enjoyed every moment. Thanks for the priceless "porch life" Oak Bluffs Inn! We will see you again...
Erik and Rhonda are wonderful hosts. The rooms are clean, the linen comfortable, and the decor is well done. The hosts are practicing safe protocols to keep everyone safe during a pandemic. The hosts live and know the island and give great guidance to explore. They also set up a beach bon fire on a beautiful evening and hosted a fabulous time to include lots of information about the stars and planets. Due to the pandemic, they are not able to serve their full breakfast they normally do, but Erik’s waffles (that are an option) are delicious. My husband and I highly recommend for your stay.
My husband and I booked Oak Bluffs Inn for our 20th Anniversary trip. This was our first time staying at a B&B and it won’t be our last! The owner of the Inn, Erik, was an amazing host. He was very hospitable, easily accessible, provided great recommendations, and hosted an awesome bonfire for guests at the inn. The Inn was built in 1870, but had been renovated over the years with the most recent in 2018. We loved the wrap around porch, which is a great place to people watch, enjoy breakfast prepared by Erik, a night cap, or connect with other guests staying at the inn. We had booked room 4 and room 10 for our stay. All rooms were well-maintained, included essential toiletries, and a white noise machine. Room 4 on the 2nd floor was nice size, shower-only, included a chair within a small reading nook, and a mini-refrigerator. Room 10 was considered the penthouse located on the 3rd floor and was like your own apartment with a balcony. I liked both rooms, but would definitely recommend the penthouse especially for those who like a lot of natural light, privacy, and the opportunity to sit outside without sitting on the porch with other guests. Fortunately, outside noise was minimal and we didn’t need the white noise, but it could have been because we visited after the peak season. The location is a 10/10. It is within a 3-minute walk to a majority of all restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions in Oak Bluffs. You are also a 5-7 minute walk from the bus stop that takes you to other towns on the island and the ferry. If you enjoy being close to everything and don’t want to rely on renting a car to get around then this is the perfect location to stay while visiting the Vineyard. The only negative during our visit is that we arrived on September 27th, so some restaurants and attractions were closed due to the pandemic or for the remainder of the season. We ate breakfast at the inn for 3/7 days while we were there. On the other days, we wanted to try restaurants that were listed as top breakfast locations in the area. Breakfast at the inn included your typical continental selections like coffee, juice, waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit bowl, croissants, and cereal. Overall, breakfast was good and another available option for staring your day. By the end of our trip, we felt like we knew the host for years. If you plan to visit Martha’s Vineyard, I strongly recommend Oak Bluffs Inn for your stay. It will definitely enhance your overall experience on the island.…
