My wife and I recently revisited Centennial House to celebrate our 40th Anniversary, having spent the first night of our honeymoon there when it had recently opened. We were so happy to see it is more lovely (and lovingly cared for) than ever. It was always a beautiful old house filled with warmth and charm but Joan and her husband have created a very special bed and breakfast -- a comfortable and welcoming bed and one of the best breakfasts we've ever had! You may not have our fond memories but I guarantee you'll have your own treasured memories if you stay at Centennial House.

We loved our recent visit to the Centennial B&B right on Main Street in Northfield. Joan's hearty breakfast in the morning was very enjoyable. She was happy to share some local history with us and we enjoyed the comfortable room we stayed in. Every aspect of our one night visit only made us want to come back again!

Our stay at Centennial House was fabulous. Our room the Northfield was very clean, spacious.and the bed was super comfortable. The best part of our stay were the delicious breakfasts that Joan cooked for us! She made us a tart with seasonal fruit, a yummy pumpkin scone with a maple glaze, and of course eggs and bacon too which were cooked to perfection! I hope one day we can return there.

We decided on a last minute weekend getaway and found The Centennial on-line. Our room, the Strawberry Banke, was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast- stuffed croissants, fruit and homemade coffee cake were delicious. Joan and Steve generously shared area history and local lore with us, along with great restaurant suggestions. All in all it was a wonderful getaway. Hope we can visit again!

Thanks so much, J. and P, We really enjoyed meeting the two of you with your friendliness right off the bat and obvious good natures and humor. It takes a willingness for guests and innkeepers to be open and flexible in these times. We're so happy that you think we got it right. Hope you got a chance to experience some of the natural features we talked about on your way home. The Connecticut River is such a gift to this area,it's great to share it with visitors. And, the stars! There's no better place to see them on a clear night than on our top terrace here in Northfield. Hope to see you again!

Joan and Steve were wonderful hosts. The food was spectacular! Great conversation and the room was so comfy. They made some great suggestions of places to visit. So many things to do especially during wintertime, can’t imagine all the activities during the summer. We highly recommend staying with Joan and Steve.

Thanks sooooo much, especially for the shout out about winter activities. It is true that the folks who have the best time, like you, research the area just a bit so you have a basic idea of what's available. As you saw, we're always happy to throw in a couple of new points of interest. Can't keep a good innkeeper down :) Cooking is one of our passions so thanks again for letting us know we got it right. Sincere best wishes!

Flew into to BDL, got a rental car and headed to VT and NH for a fall foliage drive. We decided to spend a night here and start our drive through VT the next day. Great decision, the Inn was nice and a great breakfast to start our trip.

Thanks so much! We've hosted so many folks who are en route to VT because our location smack in the middle of New England makes us a convenient choice for a mid-point stopover. We hope you'll return to sample some of the local amenities here in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusettd where the motto is "Arrive Curious, Leave Inspired!". Many thanks and safe journeys, Joan and Steve

Stayed at the Centennial House and enjoyed our stay! It is located on a main road that has wide sidewalks, so early morning or evening walks add to the charm. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the yard. The linens and towels were great. Breakfast was amazing: fresh muffins, poached eggs with tomatoes and bacon, and grilled watermelon!

Thanks so much. The grilled watermelon was a new item for us. Hoping to do grilled peaches now that summer's here. Watch for them on our social media! We thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. Helps us stay "in the zone." Safe travels!

Thank you, Al. Since 2004 we've had a wonderful relationship with NMH School and look forward to meeting new parents and students every August, to hosting parents of accepted students in October and February for Family Days, seeing families who've become friends over their four years off in May at graduation, and welcoming alumni back for their reunions in June. As folk who marked time with the college and university calendar in Amherst for so many years, it's fun for us to experience the rhythms of our neighbors at NMH. It's a wonderful reciprocal relationship and we thank you for sharing your experience at Centennial House with others. See you in five years?

My first time trip to New England was initiated by a business situation that required me to be in Northfield, MA for an unspecified period of time. Not knowing what I was going to encounter and for how long, and additional business in Pennsylvania, I drove cross country from my office in Costa Mesa, CA to Northfield. While I travel a great deal, flying provides no sense of the "Country" nor the variety of it's beauty. The farther Northeast my progress took me the more I was impressed by the increasing beauty of this magnificent land in which we live. My six day excursion ended on Saturday the 6th of May. Accommodations had been prearranged and when I arrived in Northfield at the Centennial House, I was immediately taken with the overall beauty and tranquility of the area and the peaceful tranquility that I felt.Meeting the owners Joan and Steve immediately put me at ease and I knew I had arrived at a special place. The accommodations are spot on period correct with rooms that embrace the New England experience and yet provide the required comfort and cleanliness that is so necessary for today's traveler. Then there is the included "Continental Breakfast" freshly prepared by Joan every morning. The fresh strawberry/rhubarb tort, the fresh pear tort, the fresh berries, the backed eggs, the maple cured bacon and the coffee/tea options, each contributing to the magnificence of the "CB", makes starting the rest of your day problematic. Delightful place, cared for by delightful informed, accommodating, gracious and generous purveyors makes the Centennial House a must include experience choice for your New England excursion. John K…
