My trip to the Maldives from Dubai was the first since the pandemic started and I could not have chosen a better resort.
From arrival to departure, I felt extremely safe. Sanitization happened every step of the way and it was clear that the staff were properly trained and cared about their guests safety.
The resort was quite empty, so mask wearing was mandatory at the breakfast buffet, on the speed boat, at the spa.
I stayed in water villa 310, which had a perfect view of the sunrise. The northern side of the island is closed, however I never felt like I missed out on any amenities.
The mini bar is replenished daily, however no spirits or aperitifs.
The staff need special mention, in particular Hisan, Muhassein, and the bartender at the infinity pool. No request was too much, and we really felt so well taken care of.
If you want a stunning view of the sunsets, go to Asian Wok. We enjoyed the meal there thats included in the all inclusive plan, however it was an extremely long meal, almost 2.5 hours for a 3 course dinner.
I recommend taking the all inclusive plan, it works out very cost effective, especially if you plan to lounge by the pool and have yummy cocktails all day.
I have 2 recommendations:
1. More chicken and fish options to be included in the buffet, as I found it was limited
2. Include Prosecco in the all inclusive plan, even if the price increases.

The best holiday during these times! Can’t wait to go back!

Let me walk you through the whole stay. The communication with the resort after I made the reservation was fantastic, they're constantly sending you reminders, offers, or even requesting information that you might have miss on your booking. Moving forward, when you land to airport the boat's driver is waiting for you, and pretty much right away you are on your way to resort. One hour boat right to the island, where you're greeted by the hotel staff, you do the check-in smoothly while drinking a delicious cold tea, after that you're off to your room. I stayed in the jacuzzi over the water bungalow, which is super close to the corals, so I got to see fish all day and night (I did snorkeling as well). The view of the sunset and the water from the room was spectacular. In the room you have everything you need, from snacks to drinks, coffee/tea, and water. Husband and I watched the water and the rain from our bed, drank coffee in the porch and laid down on the sunbeds and read, so quiet and beautiful, my husband didn't want to leave the room. We took the all inclusive package, the food at buffet was good many choices and lots of seafood, I recommend the grill tuna/salmon, and the creme bule (best I ever ate =) ). The drinks are also good, wine, beer and cocktails (even shots if you are in the mood). The island is very cute to walk, the paths are beautiful, the sand is white and the water is shallow. They have gym, golf range and 9 hole pitch and putt, a dive center, and many tours, kayaks, you won't be bored. They also have adults and family restaurants/bars separated from each other which was perfect was us.
The staff was AMAZING! everyone was so helpful and super friendly, I loved the personal touch by remembering my name and my husband's birthday (they gave him a cake, and many birthday wishes), and so on, so PLEASE tell them they are doing a great job and kudos to them!!
I really enjoyed my stay here and only wish to come back.

On arrival we were really disappointed with the room we were allocated (607) as it was no where near the standard which we were expecting. Inside the room the furniture was tired, dated and the standard of cleanliness was appalling as there was staining and mould around the fridge. This is not the standard we were expecting and it definitely felt like we were at a less superior resort to the one we booked in Kuredu. Outside the room our private terrace area was unclean and rather neglected. There was stains on the sun loungers, mould growing around the jacuzzi cover, which once lifted exposed a rather horrid musty smell. There were paint stains on the cushion covers, the taps on the sink were slack all in all, a rather disappointing "luxury" first impression.

We pointed out our concerns, which were not taking seriously and no effort was made to rectify these issues. After 2 days we were offered a room change (I think it was 210), which had we been offered this from the beginning would have suited us better as it looked although it had been updated however the rear area was smaller than the one we had so we decided to remain where we were . We were then offered another change however we were unpacked so we just decided to stay where we were and get on with our holiday.

On the Thursday afternoon we were contacted by a member of staff who told us they had arranged for us to get a free upgrade to a jacuzzi water villa room 713 for the remaining 2 and a half days of our holiday which we gladly accepted.
The room was beautiful and up to the standards we were initially expecting.
I believe rooms may have been in the process of being modified and we were unfortunate in getting a room which was in need of this .

On the plus side the staff were excellent wit the exception of our house cleaner. The island is beautiful and all the communal areas and pools were spotless and there was lots to do .The food was excellent and prepared to a high standard We had originally booked Kuredu however due to that island being on lockdown due to the coronavirus we were sent to Meru.

Meeru is simply fantastic. The island is big and small enough to actually never feel like it's crowded, even when all is full.

We visited in the second half of December and were there for Christmas and New Year's Eve. After reading a lot of reviews, we decided for Jacuzzi Beach Villa and we would do it again (and be sure to take the west side, which is way quieter). Basically, everything is perfect, but the west side is quieter (you don't hear the waves as close as on the east side). However, on the west side, you want to swim and snorkel, and you will be surprised with all the stuff the only couple of meters from the beach. We were in villa 647, and I would pick again something 620+.

Our villa was taken care of by Riyaz, and I must say that I was amazed. He was cleaning it at least twice per day, and considering that you are in the middle of nowhere, on an isolated island, I am surprised how clean everything was (it's no lie that its hygiene is actually on a higher standard than in a lot of western countries). I rated sleep quality at 3 only for a simple reason - it's constantly ~30C outside, no matter what time of the day, and if you try to turn off the A/C you won't sleep for sure. However, it's compensated by probably the best bed furnishing I had a chance to see in any hotel or resort so far.

We are also very positively surprised by the choice of food. Again - considering that everything needs to be imported and temperatures to keep it, there was probably the biggest choice of different food I met so far in any resort we visited. We were served by Ali, and we want to thank him and all the crew for the great done job.

We know we will be coming back. This was probably the best-spent money in 2019.

As my husband told your Elisa while checking out, the only suggestion to improve the service we received this year (I and my husband were at the 3rd experience at Meeru: jacuzzi beach villa) is that considering that rooms are cleaned up twice a day also the fresh water in the glass bottles could be filled up twice a day, not only once. No other comments, only good memories .....thank you all

We stayed at this resort for 6 night and booked for jacuzzi water vila at 300-nr bungalows. The resort was amazing but we were dispointed to our water bungalow cause we couldn’t swim directly from the bungalow. Since it was very windy so it was really strong current in water. We need to walk 1,2 km to other side of island to have a good swim every day. The time water made it was also really ground in the water and the coral stone/reef was really sharp. I got injuries in my leg first day when I tried to swim from the bungalow cause the stone. So it should be better description about the water bunglows so people don’t need to pay double just to stay at water vila when you couldn’t swim over there anyway. A beach bungalow was much better choice. The cleaning in the room was poor cause it was sand at the table which not been cleaned up in 3 days.

Our waiter at the restaurant was really amazing. Always nice and warm smile every time he served us. He became a good friend we missed.

We spent a week here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was the best vacation of our lives, and we will always be grateful for the amazing service we received from the Meeru island resort staff. The resort in itself was five-star, the all-inclusive package was amazing. We were able to experience many excursions during our stay, all of which were so memorable. We were hesitant about traveling post Covid, the Meeru team adopted a high level of sanitary precautions. Hand sanitizer stations were strategically placed all around the resort, and every staff member wore facial masks throughout our stay always ensuring the safety of its patrons and staff members. I can’t emphasize enough, how much we loved our stay here, and will highly recommend this resort to anyone who wishes to have an amazing Maldivian experience at a totally affordable price. We will definitely be returning here again, but this time we will bring our children.

Cyrstal Blue water and white sand are typical for each Maldivian islands but Meeru makes its statement with nicely decorated spotlessly cleaned large rooms, top service. We stayed in Beach front villas with jacuzzi and they are just a few steps to ocean with their own sunbeds. There are different types of accomodation, I recommend all inclusive which includes free snorkelling tours to special reefs, dolphin tours, free diving trial and golf course. There are something to eat for each taste. Do not return back without getting a massage in Duniye overwater spa which you will enjoy plenty of natural oils. We were very lucky to spend one night in yacht Haagern. I am very pleased to choose Meeru for honeymoon.

Good resort 45 mins ride frm airport, perfect for travellers with babies .RT PCR test reports ready in just 24 hrs, cost only 50$.food is very good with lot of variety in buffet ( western / European taste buds) Asian also available in small variety but continental is more delicious. Resort is big but for guests with kids lot of restrictions .Only one buffet restaurant & one bar near kids swimming pool is allowed to enter.. rest all property is for adults only .resort is very strict on rules and policies and they won’t bend even for basic requests ..staff is helpful otherwise . Had lots of issues with room upon checkin but all resolved and fixed quite promptly .room lighting is too low and overall resort lighting is very dim.kids play room is good but only 3 years up kids can be left alone.Below that need parents to be present or hire nanny services at 10$p.hr. Bar snacks is quite good and affordable (5-8$).in room dining doesn’t have much variety but fairly priced (15$ +).over all resort is clean ,beach is long white sand & shallow waters , snorkelling is ok as mostly dead coral around .so they take us to another site for free to compensate .jacuzzi rooms are fun for kids..kids pool is a treat . Beds queen size & Sofa bed is always made for kids which is much appreciated.still drinking water is ample . Buggy service is good .there’s a big gift shop for souvenirs and basic stuff. Snorkelling equipment and even life jacket is available on rent basis.only con is the strict timing of the buffet . Lunch closing at sharp 2pm and dinner at sharp 9 pm is a real put off . Specially for Asians as we go there for holiday at leisure and such early timings are difficult to keep up especially with kids.staff will start clearing buffet exact on time without considering guests still taking servings .So taking full board for such guests is not advisable at all .rest all good

We have planned a trip to the Maldives since mid of 2019, and chose Meeru as our resort. Meeru has exceeded our expectations, especially during this very difficult time the whole world is going through.

From the time we arrived on the island, everything was so well taken care of. Check in was a breeze, We were in room 319, which is the 3rd room at the end of a over water jacuzzi villa. If you have a over water villa, try to request for a room as far out to the sea as possible. Rooms there has more privacy. Personally, we felt that the 300 series rooms had more privacy compared to the 700 series over water villas due to the layout of the villas.

The food was amazing, and the buffet spread changes everyday and every meal.

There were quite many activities, including a sunset cruise, which unfortunately for us, it rained towards the end of the trip. Nevertheless Meeru gave us a 50% discount on the fare without us even asking for it. Very thoughtful of them.

There is also a free snorkelling trip to the house reef, which was really enjoyable. Remember to bring along your own snorkels as it is not provided on the island (you also wouldn't want to be sharing this with others i suppose?!).

During our stay there, the island was locked down for 2 days as there were suspected cases. The mgmt and staff took real good care of all their guests, keeping us updated, and helping those who are affected with rescheduling their onwards journeys. Thankfully for us, all suspected cases were tested negative, and we were able to leave on our scheduled flights.

All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and definitely a fabulous place to spend our wedding anniversary. We will definitely be back again to Meeru, and couldn't say enough praises of this resort to our friends.

Well done Meeru! I hope all of you will come out stronger from this situation, as we will be planning to be back in Meeru some time in the near future!

Best thing is try without for a couple of days and settle bill daily to check. You have to do All inclusive package for a min of 3 days and your all have to do it. You also get other benefits. A sunset cruise is included plus free kayak and windsurfing equipment. Water, coffee and tea is included with meals. Water freely available throughout the resort. All inclusive is about $115 per person per day. You would have to have about 10 soft drinks each per day.

yes, the North of the island is sort of restricted, the restaurant is no kids, but the other restaurant in the south is almost identical food-wise. Huge beach available, plus snorkling, and a family pool with snack bar next to it etc.
