beautiful, largely well-kept area. Organization of the journey was a bit bumpy, having to wait 4 hours for the room / villa after 16 hours of arrival is not nice. Very nice staff! Unfortunately there is no tasty coffee on the island. The house wine costs $ 7 a glass and is barely drinkable. On the menu then good wines but then 9-14 $ the glass. If you have booked full board, every little thing will be charged extra. Transportation from the airport to the hotel is too expensive at $ 170. The accommodation is o.k. and clean. One can relax well.
My husband and I spent 11 glorious nights at Meeru over the Christmas and New Year period. We had travelled to the Maldives in Nov and fell in love with the the place, however couldn’t stay at the same resort we had stayed at on our prior visit so opted for Meeru instead and boy were we not disappointed. The welcome we received upon getting off the boat was fabulous and added to the excitement of being there. We stayed in a water front villa which was exceptionally clean and provided us with the privacy we were after as well as great access to the water - couldn’t have asked for more!! Our room boy Saneem went above and beyond to ensure we had all we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He is indeed a massive asset to Meeru and I hope that he is recognised for the effort he happily puts in daily. We were on a full board package and had all of our meals at the Maalan restaurant. The food was absolutely divine!! I couldn’t possibly fault a thing. The selection on offer was superb and every thing I ate was delicious. If you have a sweet tooth, you certainly wouldn’t be disappointed, as the desserts on offer were to die for. I especially loved the yellow lentil soup and mentioned it to the amazing executive chef Tilak who kindly offered to make it again for me - that incredibly kind gesture touched my heart!! Our waiter Ali was one of the loveliest, upbeat guys we had the pleasure of seeing and chatting to daily. I celebrated my birthday during my stay and several of the guys wished me on the day, decorated our table for dinner and made me a special birthday cake - again, I was blown away by just how thoughtful and kind the staff were. Special mention goes to Thadeus, Upul, Shanu, Vinu, Hassan, Ashok, Imane and Kumar - these incredible guys were wonderfully friendly and a massive credit to the resort. The NYE party was fantastic and so much fun. I can’t think of a better place to have chosen to welcome in the new year! The island itself was very clean and much bigger than I expected which was great. It was especially good to see how well taken care of the staff were, I loved that they had their own facilities which were just as good as those available for guests. The staff at reception is something which lets this resort down. They lack social skills and were not particularly helpful or great at informing guests of services on offer and with each question I asked, I felt like a massive nuisance. The transfer process from the airport to the resort could be a bit better, we waited for an hour before we could get on a boat to the island and after being up on a flight all night, the last thing I wanted was to be sitting at an airport unsure of what’s going on. All of the fabulous things I mentioned about this resort certainly outweigh the negative and I can’t possibly recommend this resort enough. I most certainly look forward to my next visit!! …
Enjoyed my honeymoon with my wife. The stuff was always friendly and quick to solve problems. Had a great experience. Even though we booked the garden villa, we were surprised with a jacuzzi villa for our honeymoon and we had an even better experience than we had expected.
Resort is overpriced. Rooms are old and cleaning is done late in the day, what is basically a change of linen. Several items were not colected (cans, wraps). Wifi does not work in the adult pool and is very weak else where. Staff in the main restaurant were unconfortable if we asked to sit on a different table than the one they assigned for us. Several times we waited so long do get a drink in different bars. I have been to the maldives before and Meeru definitely disapoints. Not the maldivean paradise experience you might be looking for.
Choose Meeru for our holiday was the best decision ever. The holiday gave the much needed relief from the pandemic blues. Everything from cleanliness & natural beauty to staff friendliness & ambience was just perfect! A huge plus was the resort's sincere effort to maintain hygiene and sanitation in common areas which put us at great ease.
