Designed for the 21st century traveler, the 48-room property is a union of design and nature, home to woodland trails, riverbank vistas, sculptural installations and more. Been wanting to stay here since it opened in 2018. Natural elements and literally in the forest while on the highway. Modern and chic. Excellent safety protocols and text/email communication daily with Front desk. Everything was made easy. Lots of helpful info about the area. Breakfast and light dinner via room service were delicious.

Great. So kind and helpful staff, simply beautiful designed room and space, quiet and comfort atmosphere, and carefully designed and well managed way to adapt current restriction. Although it's true we miss lodge and restaurant, this hotel still has unusual power to switch our mind from too uniform current days. Close upfront communication w/ customer support is encouraged to clarify what's available and what's not since we're under unfamiliar standard. Some amenity needs reservation. They has well prepared materials and the customer care team is super responsive.

This staff is so dedicated, professional, and a first-rate example of how to manage expectations all while providing a best-in-class experience. Yes, there are guidelines and rules but they are not draconian, they are clear and necessary to maintain compliance with government safety standards. We have visited TOURISTS twice this summer and look forward to returning. My only "wish" would be for a more expanded menu for dinnertime, but otherwise, we love it here and truly appreciate all the work the staff does for their guests, day-in, day-out. Thank you to Tracey, Andy, Ciera, Kristina, Nina, and Colleen!

We stayed at Tourists for three nights in August 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic. We had an amazing time -- the ambiance, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent food and drinks, beautiful grounds and pool, and especially the caring and attentive staff all made it a truly wonderful vacation. We wanted to stay in-state and were very pleased with the safety protocols. Meals can be ordered to the room or eaten outside while the main restaurant/bar space is closed, and we were able to reserve several times at the pool -- the staff even managed to squeeze in an additional pool slot on our last day. The Canopy rooms are lovely, private and quiet, and suitable for three people with a sizable and comfortable day bed in the window. Very close to great dining options, hiking, museums, etc. Overall, a terrific option at any time, but especially under the circumstances.

Room Tip: Canopy rooms are quieter. A train goes by at night, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!

We were delighted to host you, @88lass! Safety is our first priority at TOURISTS, and it is wonderful when that translates to our guests' experience in a seamless way. I'm also pleased you were able to enjoy our pool area during these dogs days of summer! We are always just down the road, if you can ever get away for another long weekend escape in the Berkshire. After a comfortable stay in Nov 2019 for a birthday, my friends, my dog and I returned again in January for another birthday! We were looking to return again in the spring but the pandemic happened. The combination of being in nature yet still feeling luxurious (but not obnoxious), clean and comfortable is probably why we enjoy coming here. We've stayed in the Caravan and Canopy rooms. The Canopy room offered more privacy with a deck overlooking the trees. The Caravan room was easier to take my dog out on his walks. We booked the Caravan initially because we were worried about having enough space to sleep in but the day bed in the Canopy room can definitely work for 3 people. The room is spacious with an area to hang coats in the winter and just a place to leave your luggage. The deep drawers were useful to store away my dog carriers and random tote bags for my dog. The decor is well-thought out and does not feel generic. The space is well-utilized with outlets on either side of the bed. The bathroom layout in our room had plenty of counter space for our products. The hand soap smelled so nice that I wish I had some at home with the excessive hand-washing we now do. The Ursa Major amenities were a nice touch. Tourists is pet-friendly and the pet fee is donated to local charities. During our second stay, our room was prepared with a dog bed and bowls. Cashew also loved his stay! We spent time at the Lodge, which is unfortunately closed right now due to coronavirus. I'd feel confident in coming back again especially after reading the updated coronavirus protocols on the checkin website.

Many thanks for your review, @jjjjjoanna! We cannot wait to welcome you and yours back to TOURISTS. Thanks, too, for taking the time to review touristscheckin.com. We've been working diligently over the past few months to reopen our doors in the safest way possible, and it's wonderful to hear that our guests are receptive to that effort. Please do let me know when you're planning your next visit to the Berkshires - I'd be delighted to meet you in person (from six feet away!) Cheers, Colleen <c.rafferty@touristswelcome.com>
