Frank Gerry meets IKEA in spare modern rooms with excellent bed and shower but no chairs, no towel bars, no coffee or tea, dim lighting ( one bedside lamp for a king bed), not even any Kleenex. Nice pool. Interesting native landscaping. Good breakfast one day; fruit and burnt toast the next, 45 minutes after ordered. Problems in the kitchen, we were told, and the meal was comped.
We stayed here with two kids for the 4th of July week and absolutely loved it. The rooms are impeccable (ours even had a bunk bed/fort situation), the food is creative and healthy, drinks are fun and excellent, and the staff is great. We thought we'd spend more time exploring the area but our kids would not leave the pool (our son was there for 4 hour stretches each day), and who could blame them? It's fantastic. I The area is particularly good for art and hiking. Tourists is only about 15 minutes to Mass Moca, and there is a lovely Cascade Trail waterfall hike as well nearby (or the Appalachian Trail if you want something more serious).
3 day stay for wedding and vacation. Liked what the architect did with the minimalist design of, bringing the natural beauty into the interior, with generous windows, use of natural material, and design. However, "form follows function" and function would have been better served if it would have include comfortable chairs rather then stools and very low chairs, inside and on the deck that are almost impossible to rise from for a senior, better lighting in the bathroom mirror area, a telephone to contact the office in case of questions or, heaven forbid, an emergency, and a box of Kleenex. Another long door mirror outside of bathroom door for dressing when bathroom is steamed and in use. NO HANDRAILS in the special events area stairs with access to the lower lawn areas. Very dangerous especially at night. Room service and breakfast menu was good.…
Staying at Tourists was a first class, retro motor hotel experience. The room was beautiful and practical, with lots of natural wood, quality bedding and a walk-in tiled shower. The in-room radio is set to Tourists’ own radio station. Apple TV made mirroring streamed content to the TV easy. Outside, the well-maintained grounds include a swimming pool, suspension bridge across the Hoosic River and lots of walking trails. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed during our stay, but the morning room service pastries and coffee were excellent and on time.
My husband and I were lucky enough to get a night this week for a short vacation. What a wonderful, understated gem of a hotel/motor inn. The decor and architecture are serene and so comfortable both inside and out. The room was so clean, the bed wonderfully comfortable and the view to the woods beautiful. The grounds are awesome and we used the pool area and the terrace extensively. They had a wonderful BBQ for the guests. Everyone was extremely friendly and efficient. I can't say enough. We will definitely be back.
The hotel was fantastic. We stayed for a wedding that took place at the hotel and everything was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the pool was lovely and warm and we even did morning yoga on the yoga deck which was lovely. Would definitely stay here again. I do think that guests would appreciate more comfortable chair on the room patios but just a minor detail, all in all a great visit and wonderful staff and service. Thank you.
Tourists is one of my favorite hotels to visit, I’ve been twice- once in the winter and once in the spring. North Adams is a cute town, but Tourists and Airplane Rooms certainly makes the town a destination. Everything in the hotel is perfectly curated from the lobby to the bath amenities, and my favorite, the mini bar items. The text concierge is great, as is room service. It’s truly so easy to unwind during a weekend here with the board games in the lobby to the perfectly curated playlist. We love heading over to airport rooms for a dinner or a post dinner drink. I wish they would bring back the 2-night min and the prices were a tad lower, but other that than it’s great.
Tour carries dreams which comes true when you comes out to your country and reach at a place where you feel full mental satisfaction and ease. in my opinion a tourist wants to know cultural and historical informatiomn about the place where he pays vist eg Cairo.where pyramids are there but no one knows their mystery unless a great of guide tells him to resolve mystery than the tour can be a worth.
This is literally a roadside "motel" transformed into a modern and rustic spot. The front faces a relatively busy road and the back abuts a tranquil and woodsy view with a rushing river providing a lovely soundscape. The rooms are sparkling and simple (could use better lighting for reading in bed) with charming minimal decor. We were here in late March, so the weather was chilly and gray, but I imagine in the warmer months the place is bursting with beautiful landscaping. Food is simple and delicious and the "room service" breakfast is delivered with a camp vibe that is really charming. Very dog friendly; next time we will bring our pooch!
Wonderfully well appointed, comfortable clean room. Personal touches not over done. A cool addition to North Adams, respecting history while embracing the future. Highly recommend. And do not skip the raspberry jam at breakfast
