This place was a wonderful place to stay while hosting a weekend workshop. The staff were super friendly and the amenities amazing! The hot tub and sauna were accessible and much appreciated at the end of the long days. I would totally recommend and can't wait to go back!
The Porches is a cute spot with a great location near the Mass MoCA, however the price is steep. If you want to splurge for a weekend away, I'd recommend it, otherwise it costs and arm and a leg to stay somewhere that isn't much more luxurious than other options nearby. The heated pool deck was one of our biggest draws to stay here, however the pool had a lot of leaves and sticks in it so we opted out of swimming and just went in the hot tub and sauna. However, both are pretty small so if there are lots of people trying to use it I'm sure it won't be very relaxing. Overall, I'd come back but only for the right price, it definitely wouldn't be worth anything more than $250/night.
We love the Porches Inn. The staff is great, rooms are clean and beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the baths are luxurious. Excellent location. Great Staff. Wonderful place. Our dog was welcome and all the other dogs there were well behaved, there was no barking. A great little dog park for her to run round off leash. Pool and Hot Tub are a delight!
if you're looking for ANY negatives, stop here - there are none. not just sizzle - plenty of steak. it is well appointed, staffed by friendly and accommodating people, clean, plenty of small comforts (eg., plenty of towels, soap), a good selection of different sized rooms. style, bt not at the cost of comfort - best of both. (two room suite - top marks!!!!). and the proximity to MassMoCA and downtown restaurants can't be beat.
We were local for a college tour but wanted to experience Mass MoCA so we chose to stay in North Adams. Best decision. Loved our experience at Porches. The room (and bathroom) were so spacious and having an Apple TV allowed us as a family to watch one of our favorite shows once we settled in for the night. The pool was probably our favorite part. We got to experience swimming and the hot tub in the snow at night which is very cool. The breakfast was excellent too for a 'continental' it had many options including hot eggs and potatoes. Wish we could have stayed longer but we'll certainly make the trip again.
The Porches firmly nailed the juxtaposition of history and future; a setting from bygone times with accommodations for comfort. Initially I thought that the creaky screen door was a quaint nod to the past as we entered the reception area. When I spied the cubbyholes behind the counter, the thought that we were entering 'Bates Motel' territory started creeping into my mind. But the cheerful greeting from the staff help to quell those thoughts. My comfort level began to rise as I turned around and surveyed the fireplace sitting area and the common dining area for breakfast the next morning. More surprises (and comfort) were revealed in our guest room. The frosted glass window added a warm touch to the room as did the painted floor boards. The bathroom was exceptional again with the old played against the new. We will gladly return to The Porches and have the chance to "set a spell."…
This was perhaps my fourth or fifth time staying at The Porches. The convenience of the location, vis-a-vis the art and dining scene would be hard to beat. The staff is consistently pleasant and helpful. The refurbished breakfast area is a big success.
Perfect little getaway. Comfortable and lovely aesthetics. Nice pillows. Fun to look out the window and see into the windows of MassMoca at night. They’ve done a great job shaping the back of the property also! Steep but walkable, great view without leaves and I bet it feels magical and private with them!
This is our fourth stay at The Porches, and we will certainly be back again. Great location, nice amenities, terrific breakfast, helpful staff, and a very comfortable place to sit and relax. It's our go-to place when we visit north Berkshire County.
This was just a mini getaway for me. Reception staff made excellent restaurant suggestions, bathtub was lovely, enjoyed the decor, and the breakfast was terrific. The breakfast included way more than I was expecting. I’d definitely return if I was in the area again.
