Detailed Reviews
We stayed three nights in the very comfortable Marquand room, with a beautifully renovated and immaculate bathroom and the luxurious amenity of our own private deck with table, umbrella, and four chairs overlooking the garden. The location of the Clark Currier is excellent--a quiet neighborhood but just two blocks to Pleasant Street and the gateway to downtown Newburyport with many shops and several superb restaurants. Because of the pandemic Caitlin could not offer a cooked breakfast in the dining room, but she imaginatively provided a good continental breakfast delivered to each room in a picnic basket.

It was lovely to have you stay with us on your recent trip to Newburyport. We are pleased that you enjoyed your time here as well as all of what Newburyport has to offer. Our guests can take advantage of parking at the Inn and then a quick 5 minute walk brings you to downtown and its many shops, restaurants, etc. Relax in our garden gazebo or enjoy our fireplace living room or garden room for visiting with friends, reading a good book or watching a bit of TV. Thank you again for staying with us and for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you in the future. NOTE: During this time of COVID, please note that our staff is taking every precaution to insure our Inn is cleaned and disinfected daily. Masks are worn by all staff and we ask our guests to do the same. We offer a continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, pastries with coffee/tea and juice (a menu is provided for your selection) and is delivered to your room at time requested (between hours of 7:30 and 9:30 am). Our local restaurants are open with limited outdoor and indoor seating and all offer take-out options.

I have been leery of traveling in these times, much less staying in a hotel, etc. This B&B was just superb at no-contact communication, arrival, departure, etc. It was spotless, and made me feel relaxed, which I didn't think was possible in these times. I want to thank the staff and owner(s) for providing such comfort to me, both physically and in my mind, where going anywhere now is so stressful. Aside from being charming, it was a re-set of my spirit to just see it and feel that I hadn't made a mistake going out of my bubble - that it was one of the finest accommodations I've ever enjoyed.

Another wonderful stay at the Clark Currier Inn. We stayed in the Melissa Room on the second floor. Caitlin, the General Manager, was welcoming and friendly, and offered suggestions to our request for newer restaurants in Newburyport.
Caitlin delivered breakfast to our room in a picnic basket based upon the choices and time window we chose on a door tag the the night before. The juices, hot coffee, bagels and cream cheese, and fresh fruit bowl with granola an yogurt that we chose more than fortified us for our day. The fruit bowl alone was substantial and included blackberries and raspberries during our stay.
Yes, this is an older property, but the central A/C worked brilliantly on a day that inched up into the low 90's, and we did not lack for hot water in our our shower. We did not use the WiFi, as our goal was to unplug. Everything was super clean.
We also particularly like the Clark Currier Inn for its location. It is a short enough walk to restaurants and the waterfront, but quiet enough.
We look forward to staying again at the Clark Currier Inn.

I stayed one night at Clark Currier Inn in Newburyport as part of an extended weekend trip visiting friends. Upon arrival, the Inn hosts were there to welcome me, show me to my room on the first floor (loved that fact) to the Pike room, which like the rest of the Inn quite immaculate cozy, warm and very welcoming. Continental breakfast advertised doesn't do it justice. It was very substantial breakfast with freshly brewed coffee (another reason to love it!) I would definately return for another visit soon.

This beautiful Inn is covid cautious, with reduced occupancy rates, contactless check in and breakfast basket at your door. We never even passed other guests in the hall. The Inn was beautifully decorated for the season with garlands and a decorated tree. The whole experience was so restful and refreshing. Innkeeper and staff kept everything running, behind the scenes. A few blocks walk to town and/or the rails to trails path. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your kind review and appreciation of the hard work of our staff. We are trying our very best to make every guests' stay safe and relaxing and we are rewarded with your positive comments. Our Inn is very close - walking distance - to most of what Newburyport offers ... numerous restaurants, shops, museums, art galleries and, of course, our beautiful waterfront boardwalk. Again, we thank you for choosing the Clark Currier Inn and look forward to seeing you in the future. This Inn is very charming and historical (built in the early 1800's), very close to downtown Newburyport where there is always so much going on! Every morning there is a delicious breakfast with lots of choices served tastefully on a windowed porch overlooking a delightful garden and gazebo. Although the location is close to downtown, the Inn is very quiet and invites you to relax, read a book or even sneak a nap. The family that owns the Inn and all that work there are very warm and friendly are reach out to each guest and assure that your stay is "just right" in every way. I highly recommend staying at the Clark Currier Inn when visiting Newburyport!!

Our room was clean and warm when we arrived and the inn was so peaceful you didn’t even know others were staying there. The inn is also very close to Newburyport’s charming downtown area and we had a lot of fun walking around and exploring. We had a great stay, thank you Caitlin!

I usually rate my stay by the comfort of the bed and service. Both of these are 5 stars. We stayed in the King size bed room. Large room with windows on all sides. The bed was extremely comfortable with great bedding. Bathroom was large with thick towels and plenty of hot water in the shower. Due to restrictions we had breakfast delivered in a beautiful picnic basket. You get to choose from a lengthy menu and all was delicious. Plus you get 2 bottles of water each day. Parking in the rear of the building and in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. They are sensitive to the “no contact” climate we are in and the Inn is spotless and comfy. You will love it!

We stayed in the Merrimac Room for a couple of days after attending a wedding in NH. The room was charming and the bed absolutely wonderful and much appreciated after a day of driving! The whole house is beautifully appointed with multiple private rooms to choose from and many comfortable nooks to find to read a book or chat. The location is a pleasant 10 minute walk to downtown. Our recently married children joined us for a dinner in town but first enjoyed a tour of the house and thought it would be a lovely location for a wedding party to stay as the Catholic Church is across the street and 5 minutes from other churches.
Breakfast was a real treat on a lovely sun porch, with a buffet laden with beautiful fresh fruit of the season, fresh baked goods, scrumptious quiche and other traditional fare available. We have already made our reservations at Clark Currier Inn for our next visit to Newburyport in September!

My husband and I stayed here one night the end of March. It is a lovely, old house. It is clean and quiet. The word I would use to describe it is "home". The living room was available to relax in with a fire going, a newspaper to read and cookies. You felt like you were visiting as opposed to "staying somewhere", just a real sense of welcome. We stayed in the Currier Room on the second floor. It was a lovely big room with a king bed, chairs to relax in and an attached bathroom and even a little space that you could have sat out in if the weather had been warmer. The bed was very comfortable and nice touches like toiletries and chocolate. :-) The included breakfast in the morning really capped off a wonderful stay. The breakfast room had tables all set with bone china place settings and a wide variety of breakfast items like cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, pastries, a scrambled egg dish, coffee, juices, bagels ... just lovely. The owners were lovely and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. I'm sure it's even lovelier in the warmer weather when you could enjoy the outside spaces, too.
