Detailed Reviews
Even lockdowns have silver linings. Like working from anywhere (WFA). In my case, a cranberry bog in Massachusetts. Friends Jose, Paul, and Elia bought On Cranberry Pond, a B&B in Middleborough, so I fled my cramped apartment in downtown Miami to work remotely — really remotely — for a couple months.
The rambling house sits amid cranberry bogs, a reservoir, and a forest — space, peace, quiet — and three suites have kitchens and private entrances. I stayed upstairs. The bedroom had a big comfy bed, and I used the spacious living room as my luxurious corner office, with a stand-up desk and two big screens. Spent weekdays videoconferencing and posting huge files, and the Wi-Fi was up to the task.
Out the windows to my left, the sun rose over a misty pond with nesting geese. To my right, it set over the bogs, painting the world red. During breaks, I hiked the forest and circled the ponds. The fresh piney scent of rural New England in spring is a sensory experience I don't get in Miami. Yes, I inhaled.
No, cranberries don't grow underwater. That's harvest time in October, when the bogs get flooded so the berries float to the surface. It was too early for fresh cranberries, but Paul had some stashed in a freezer and baked a wondrous cake.
Yes, I really could work from anywhere, and On Cranberry Pond proved a delightful place to escape the city. I recommend it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay. I could tell driving down the driveway that this was a special place. Across the expansive lawn and around the pond and cranberry bog is an easy walk. From my suite and the porch I enjoyed a varieties of birds including orioles, doves, red wing black birds and hummingbirds to name a few. On one of our walks we saw a pair of swans and tracks from other two- and four-legged critters. Paul, Jose and Elia are generous hosts who provide comfortable accommodations, delicious breakfast and an atmosphere for easy conversation and relaxation. One chilly afternoon, Paul surprised us with a tray of just made pie with a carafe of hot water and an assortment of teas. So kind. I highly recommend On Cranberry Pond B & B. I am so glad I found this real B & B.

Our “On Cranberry Pond B&B” experience was most rewarding and fulfilling. Our amiable hosts, Paul, Jose, and Elia, offered us our choice of well-appointed accommodations surrounded by lush manicured foliage, cranberry bogs and an amusing assortment of playful wildlife. Their breakfast offerings were most delicious, satisfying and creatively wide-ranging. Having had such a memorable experience afforded by superb hosts and their beautiful relaxing surroundings, we willingly look to venture the 2600 miles from our home for another visit!

Jose, Paul, and Elia were such generous and kind hosts! I slept 9 hours straight my first night because of how safe, clean, quiet, and comfortable the place is. All pictures were accurate. My room was large with my own private bathroom and a mini fridge. I even had a door that connects to the back deck, so I could go in and out of the house if I did not want to interact with others. That was never the case since the owners were too fun to not chat with. There is a short path towards the cranberry bog that goes into a small wooded area if you want a quick walk and be immersed in trees. The cranberries are harvested in the fall, so I am sure that time of the year is even more beautiful. I had to work and be on video calls during my stay, and there were no issues with the Wi-Fi speed.
Delicious and healthy food, friendly company, and beautiful views (plenty of hummingbirds and gorgeous sunsets). This is the best place to stay for a city escape. I will definitely be back!

I stayed a few nights at On Cranberry Pond B&B last week. What an amazing place! The setting is wonderful, with a beautiful pond and cranberry bog surrounding the property. The house has a big porch to sit, relax and take in the view or you can walk along the many paths throughout the property to appreciate the amazing landscape. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating; ensuring that I was comfortable and well provided for. The second floor room was more like an apartment, with private bath, living room and full kitchen, also overlooking the pond and cranberry bog. What a great view to wake up to! I'll be returning to On Cranberry Pond for my next New England trip; hopefully for a longer stay.

My wife and I needed a retreat for a few days and On Cranberry Pond fit the bill perfectly. We had a nicely accommodated room at the end of the first floor with its own private section of the porch. The view was overlooking the cranberry bogs and we were greeted each morning with watching a flock of dear having breakfast while we sipped our coffee.
The breakfast were delightful and all of the hosts went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home.
We look forward to our next stay when we need to escape again.

This was my second stay in On Cranberry Pond. I really enjoyed this 2-week stay in the Cranberry Room. It’s spacious, well decorated and has the best view of the cranberry bog. It was lovely to experience mornings, working remote, to the sound of nature and the view from the comfy burgundy deck. Paul and Jose made sure I was enjoying my stay and were available if I needed anything. The quiche breakfasts and Bustelo coffee in the mornings was just what I needed to start my day and continue my work. Also, Paul’s coconut cranberry cake made with fresh local cranberries is AMAZING! Paul suggested using my HDMI cable to connect to the large television (Why didn’t I think of that?) for better viewing while streaming “Absolutely Fabulous.” :) Paul also referred me to a local Crossfit for some great 5:30 am classes! It’s the little touches and the amazing location that make On Cranberry Pond my favorite bed and breakfast in New England. If I ever need a longer stay, I know they have a spacious long term private apartment style space. Thanks, Paul and Jose! Please tell Elia I missed her during this visit.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Cranberry room for a weekend recently. Jose, Paul, and Elia were kind and gracious hosts. The room was clean and well maintained. The grounds were bursting with wildlife and I spent lots of time sitting on the deck listening to birds. The breakfasts were delicious. Elia was a pure joy and her cooking was wonderful. I will definitely go back to the bed and breakfast next time I am visiting friends in Middleboro.

I cannot rave about this place enough. It is in a beautiful rule setting in Middleborough Massachusetts. Just beyond the deck or cranberry bogs and pods. The innkeepers are incredibly delightful. The rooms are quaint and cozy. I recommend this place to any business travelers in the area, and especially for couples looking for a nice getaway tucked in the woods.
