Overnight stay for a Tanglewood concert. Plus: very convenient location, off street parking, ability to get a nice beer before dinner in town. Minus: Rooms very un-updated and a bit bare bones and cramped (and we were on tier 2, wonder what tier 1 was like?), and the hallways and stairs looked equally a bit tired. It was adequate for...

We stayed at the Village Inn many years ago and were greatly disappointed to see that in all of those years, nothing has been done to keep up what was once a lovely Inn in the Berkshires. Our room was old, with peeling wallpaper. The bed was uncomfortable and made with clean, but old and worn, linens. The bathroom was...

We stayed at the Village Inn B&B for the holiday weekend. While outside it was brutally cold (2F with a wind chill factor), inside we were enjoying a fireplace in our room and a collection of VHS tape (yes, people still use them!) from the library - take your pick: Sleepless in Seattle, Fugitive, James Bond's movies, Steel Magnolias, Sixteen...

We booked a room here last Saturday night. There was no other people staying here. The front desk closed at 5:00 pm. We were spooked away. Something just did not feel right here. We left shortly after. It's almost like the place is on the verge of closing. We drove back home. Does anyone know what is going on here?...

This was such a terrible place, it's comical. Remember reading Great Expectations in high school? This is Miss Havensham's! It's old beyond repair, sketchy, in need of demolition. Room was small, and cold, and so old, bed and the carpet distasteful. I slept in my clothes and left at first light to eat elsewhere, for fear of the food! And...

Two weeks ago we spent a "Parent's weekend away," meeting another couple there. We had been guests just over 11 years ago and loved the quaint, lovely atmosphere and service then. Now, it is just sad and is in desperate need of some love and care (and significant updating). The location can NOT be beat - next to shopping, pubs,...

When does quaint become tawdry, old become dowdy, really old, dingy? What in fairness to one eye comes across as authentic old world charm can easily be to another drab, dated and run down...so we have a gracious spirit as we travel and therefore will go soft on the critique of place and question rather some logistics. It is very...

Went on a couples getaway....didn't want to spend $300 a nite. Found this place which I got for half $150/nite. I agree with others reviews on it being run down. But it was comfortable enough for the price. The bathroom was quite small with was kind of comical. There was some nightclub noise but nothing the a/c on fan did...

We arrived to find noone at the desk. When we returned for the evening at 6:30 our room was filthy, bed unmade, hairs everywhere, filthy tub...and there wasn't anyone at the desk! Tried to call for 30 min and no return phone call! Drove over 2 hours back home!
