Featured on The Travel Channel and Great Escapes, this 1820 English Tudor mansion in the heart of the Berkshires was once the home of the railroad tycoon Ross Wynans Whistler, nephew of the painter James M. Whistler. Close to Tanglewood and all major Berkshire cultural venues, Whistler's Inn captures the warmth and elegance of a bygone era. On six acres of gardens and woodlands and two blocks from the center of Lenox, this quiet antique and art-filled retreat has an extensive library and French music room with a Steinway grand piano. A buffet breakfast is served with recipes inspired by the cook's world travels (Spain, France, Israel, South America, Japan and Morocco).

Hello Mike, Thanks for your nice review. Many of our guests stay at our inn for the ambiance of the Victorian Age ("Downton Abbey" lovers?). The price for each room depends on its size, as well as bed size. Room 1 is a small room with a queen-sized bed and a fairly large bathroom, but it is priced considerably lower than our master bedrooms. Heat can be regulated by turning a dial on the radiator. We encourage guests to let us know if it's too hot or too cold in the room, as regulating heat in this 150 year old house can be tricky. We enjoyed meeting you and are happy to see how much you appreciated the antiques, our wonderful library filled with vintage books, as well as our perfect Berkshire location.

This was a great bed & breakfast. The house was beautiful with beautiful antiques. The location was .2 mile from the downtown area. And before breakfast they had a coffee pot upstairs filled and ready to turn on. It was missing nothing with a refrigerator right there. Their
