Wonderful Hosts at an Edwardian era home, within walking distance to town center. Joan, Richard, and Lisa make you feel at home. They can help you plan your visit to enjoy all that the area has to offer. We will return for another stay.

Just back from a culture- and nature-filled trip to Lenox, Mass, where I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Whistler's Inn. The house is lovely, slightly run down and in need of renovation, but full of character, quirks, and maybe a ghost or two. Joan and Richard Mears and their daughter Lisa are wonderful hosts, and the breakfasts are delicious -- each... More

The room we stayed in was small with no space to put our bags or plug in our electronics. No closet space, night stands or chair. The room someone else in our party stayed in did not have a bathroom inside(something we were not told about). Everything inside the place was old and on the verge of falling apart. When... More

My husband and I stayed one night at the Whistler's Inn. The staff was extremely welcoming when we arrived. We were welcomed to help our selves to a pre dinner drink of sherry in the library. The library has an extensive book collection, where you are invited to relax and read. The decor is in keeping with the style of... More

We recently stayed at the Whistler Inn for a quick getaway in the beautiful Berkshire area. We found the Inn to be just the right combination of affordable, interesting, clean, and comfortable. The common rooms offered lovely antiques and many inviting sitting areas, both indoors and out. The room we stayed in was on the small side, but had everything... More

The place is beautiful, full of antiques and the owners and manager are welcoming and friendly. The Inn is walking distance to shops and restaurants in Lenox and the house and grounds are meticulously kept. Breakfast was made to order and offered a number of delicious items to go with the main course. We were there with one other couple... More

Built in 1820, this English Tudor mansion is the home/inn of the Mears family, boasting an adventure author, pastellist and ceramicist. Room 5 was huge and located on the second floor overlooking the back lawn. Daily sherry was available in the main floor drawing room furnished in original art and antiques. Breakfast is not to be missed-all freshly cooked and... More

My family and myself had a very relaxing time visiting this historic Inn. So much comfort while staying there. Enjoyed all homemade meals, meeting many guests from all over the world. The rooms were beautifully decorated with many upgrade facilities. Enjoyed our walks to the unique shops, listing to the Boston Pops and other musical programs in the near by... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Featured on The Travel Channel and Great Escapes, this 1820 English Tudor mansion in the heart of the Berkshires was once the home of the railroad tycoon Ross Wynans Whistler, nephew of the painter James M. Whistler. Close to Tanglewood and all major Berkshire cultural venues, Whistler's Inn captures the warmth and elegance of a bygone era. On six acres of gardens and woodlands and two blocks from the center of Lenox, this quiet antique and art-filled retreat has an extensive library and French music room with a Steinway grand piano. A buffet breakfast is served with recipes inspired by the cook's world travels (Spain, France, Israel, South America, Japan and Morocco). ... more   less
