We had a really nice stay at the Devonfield Inn on a cool weekend in spring this year. Overall, I would give this a 4.5 star rating, but will round up to a 5 to keep the great rating this B&B has! Stayed in the John Lloyd room - can recommend. It's not expansively large, but big enough. Things I really liked: -The view from the room was great -The fireplace made a welcome addition and we used it both nights -The breakfast was really great, maybe even a little too great! (Too easy to over eat - but I would DEF prefer this to the opposite) -The inn owners were very kind and we felt safe around the place with COVID still going on -Close proximity to town and good food/drink -Great bath products Things I'd love to see: -Cappuccino/Espresso options at breakfast. I know this is picky, but for the price of the stay, I think picking up a Nespresso machine (for less than the cost of 1 stay) would be a really classy touch. It would really escalate the standard drip coffee offered. -The bed was fine, if a little dated. It is within the shaker/B&B aesthetic, but again, just a bit of an update for the price would be great Tips/Thoughts: -We ate at Alta and Brava on our nights there - highly highly recommend. (Reservations needed for Alta through Resy) -The trails behind the inn are beautiful, but just simple walks in the woods - very stress free but also only worth it if needing some outdoor time on the grounds. -Check out The Pass on the way in to town. -The hand sanitizer smelled amazing - no idea how they did that.

Going stir crazy and looking for a nice B&B for a socially distanced family getaway for a young family of 4, we luckily found the Devonfield Inn which had a nice separate cottage from the main house that was perfect for us. We have a one year old who was born during the beginning of the pandemic and had never been away from home overnight before so we were glad to have the privacy to calm a crying baby without disturbing the rest of the guests. For both mornings, Doug the innkeeper graciously brought breakfast to us at our cottage which consisted of a choice of either a hot sweet or savory option as well as an assortment of other continental breakfast items, including fresh baked goods, juices, and coffee. There is a small kitchenette with a full size refrigerator and microwave to keep and heat leftovers which was very convenient for us. There is also an in-unit laundry to accommodate longer stays. We mostly stayed in our cottage, but we were welcomed to use the main house as well which was very charming. The grounds were vast and beautifully kept and there was ample room for my 8 year old daughter to put up her kite. The location of the inn was central to everything we wanted to do during our long weekend in the Berkshires. Doug and Jim the innkeepers were very helpful in recommending places to eat/order takeout, and places to visit for our young family. We very much enjoyed our stay and wish we could've stayed longer. Thanks Doug and Jim!

We stayed at the Devonfield Inn for a family trip and had a fabulous time. My husband and I were in the Rosevelt room and our teen boys in the Zachary room, both rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed. We ended up buying their King sheets because they were so soft! The view of the birch trees lit up at night from our room was very special! Doug, one of the inn owners made our stay so welcoming, giving us interesting historic facts about the inn, town and people. Jim, the master chef bakes the best blueberry scones and the boys enjoyed the banana bread French toast! It was the perfect getaway and we had the best time. Most highly recommend and we hope to be back soon. Zahida

This inn is a little treasure in the Berkshires. The grounds are beautiful, the beds comfortable, and the home inviting. We stayed in the Zachary room and it was really cute. They also have a pool but unfortunately it wasn’t open during our stay due to the weather. Note to stay to come back again in the summer. Moreover, the breakfasts were delicious and the inn owners (Doug and Jim) were delightful. We had long conversations with Doug and he is one the nicest guys around. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Berkshires, consider yourself lucky to snag a room here.

Doug & Jim were born to run the Devonfield Inn! They are the perfect hosts and go out of their way to make the experience so memorable. We had such a wonderful long weekend that I just didn't want it to end! We were celebrating a milestone birthday and they did everything to make us feel welcome. My husband wanted to surprise me. After dinner out, we came into the room with the most gorgeous dozen red roses that are a week later still stunning, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. Talk about feeling spoiled. We stayed in the Queen's Cottage which is the perfect name as I felt like a Queen all weekend. It was immaculate and perfect for Covid. The lush robes were so soft! My son, his wife and their dog stayed in the garden suite which was beautiful and so comfortable. Doug's recommendations for local restaurants and hiking were superb! We also enjoyed just relaxing on their gorgeous property that has such a lovely view with some fun trails carved out in the woods. And then there is Chef Jim's famous breakfast! Oh my heavens - how delicious and what a treat! I couldn't wait each morning to see what the options would be between sweet and savory. We look forward to our next stay and highly recommend the Devonfield Inn! Bravo Doug & Jim!
