Circa 1863 - The Robert Jordan House. Stroll on walkways throughout this almost-one-acre estate that is accented by terraced perennial gardens. The Victorian home with Italianate detail was built by a Civil War veteran who became a general merchant. Accommodations include guest bedrooms in the main house and the restored Carriage House. All rooms have private bath, air conditioning, television, free WiFi - all the amenities you would expect in a fine Bed and Breakfast. A wholesome breakfast is served in the sun drenched dining room, on the garden deck, or in the formal dining room in the historic house and is included in with the room. A tranquil ambiance is imparted during a visit here.

This charming New England has a breakfast room that is open to the public. The omelets we had were delicious although not piping hot. My biscuits were a nice alternative to toast or English muffins. Wait staff was pleasant and accommodating when a slight mistake was made on my order.

I stayed at the Ipswich Inn Bed and Breatkfast for the days leading up to and including Christmas. I was lucky to get a room at this busy time and I took the Skylight Room which was the only one available.I was delighted to find a) fewer stairs to climb than I was prepared for and b) a very comfortable bed (one of a pair of twins) The room was well thought-out with all the necessities. The skylights (hence the name) bring in morning sun and give a lovely view of the woods behind, without allowing anyone outside to see in. No curtains necessary. The breakfasts were wonderful and the wait staff friendly and accommodating. I hope I can stay there again sometime.

I'm an Ipswich native who returned in October 2019 with my wife to spend a week revisiting my hometown. The Ipswich Inn was a great choice. My wife and I loved our experience there, and we would absolutely stay there again in the future. The location is perfect, in walking distance of all the happening areas in town as well as many historical sites. The hosts, Ray and Margaret, are warm, friendly, and welcoming. The breakfast is fantastic and locally famous. The room was comfortable, clean, beautifully furnished, and quiet at night. While not the cheapest options, the price is very reasonable and a great value. We stayed in the East Room, which has lovely views from the front of the house.

I have stayed at the Ipswich Inn twice. Both times I had come off a red eye and was in town to visit my sick grandfather. When you’re traveling for family, especially when they are sick and expected to pass... it sucks. No way around it. But when you stay somewhere where they make you feel at home, insist on feeding you a hot meal, it brings some light into the dark. I came to this Inn based on necessity, but it now holds a special home in my heart as the place I stayed when my grandfather passed, and how I felt so sad... but happy to be crashing my head here - the place I found solace when it was all said and done. My husband and I will be visiting Ipswich when we can to honor him, and I will always be staying here. I can’t suggest Ipswich Inn enough. Ipswich House of Pizza down the street has the best Italian sub, Ipswich Ale a mile away has great beer, and the Inn’s breakfast brings you back home. BUT! Most of all! the owners of the Inn are gracious, hospitable and caring. When far from home, you won’t be when at this Inn.

First of all, the owners are seriously the most enjoyable people. The hospitality and ease of checking in was top notch. Breakfast was equal to that of a great diner, not those typical hotel bland breakfasts. We stayed in the Wicker Room and it was so fun, spacious and quiet! Even when the first floor was full of people! I would highly recommend this place. I want to come back!
