Circa 1863 - The Robert Jordan House. Stroll on walkways throughout this almost-one-acre estate that is accented by terraced perennial gardens. The Victorian home with Italianate detail was built by a Civil War veteran who became a general merchant. Accommodations include guest bedrooms in the main house and the restored Carriage House. All rooms have private bath, air conditioning, television, free WiFi - all the amenities you would expect in a fine Bed and Breakfast. A wholesome breakfast is served in the sun drenched dining room, on the garden deck, or in the formal dining room in the historic house and is included in with the room. A tranquil ambiance is imparted during a visit here.

I lived in Ipswich for close to 60 years so never had occasion to stay here until we moved away and returned to visit. The Ipswich Inn has always had an excellent reputation for years. To say it is well deserved is an understatement. And that says nothing about the superb breakfast.

Fall is a fabulous season to stay at the Inn. Staff is super friendly, facility is clean & the complimentary breakfast is delicious. As well, the room rate cannot be beat. We have stayed a few times and have been very satisfied with the accommodations.

We've been coming here for a number of years and always enjoy our stay. The location is extremely convenient and staff very nice and the rooms are great. In addition, guests receive their B& B breakfast at the attached restaurant with no limit on what can be ordered. This is a great plus!

Lovely stay and everyone was extremely friendly and caring! Our breakfast was so lovely on the porch and hosts were super personable. Our room was quiet and well kept, clean, and provided everything we needed over the long weekend.

We recently had out of town family stay at the Inn for our son's wedding and felt welcomed and perfectly at home. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The added bonus was the spectacular 5-Star breakfast which was included in the price of the stay. We would be delighted to stay there again!

When I needed to return to my home town of Ipswich for my class reunion, I chose Ipswich Inn. I knew they were special. What I didn't realize was how they would treat us like family and make us feel as though our comfort was super important! The bed was so supportive yet soft, and the bathtub was like the one I'd had growing up on the same street years ago. The breakfast was outstanding in every way. If there is a room open for you, rejoice!

Rooms are always so very clean, comfortable and plush. White comforter, lots of pillows. I had a claw foot tub which I adore. Breakfast is a ten out of ten. Everyone there will go out of their way to insure a lovely stay.

I was so disappointed in the state of the room. It looked as though everything in it was purchased at a yard sale. In fairness, I can only speak of the Carriage House room. The furnishings had a coating of dust when touched with your hand. There were no headboards on the beds. My daughter dropped a ring on the floor. In trying to find it, we lifted the bed skirt to look under and couldn’t believe the amount of dust and dirt that we saw. We were attending a wedding nearby, so we got ready, but decided not to come back to stay overnight. As we left we noticed green mold on the outdoor railings that lead upstair of the main house. Would not recommend and will never return.

If you are looking for history, comfort and accessibility on Boston's North Shore, Cape Ann this is certain to delight! Thus is truly a real treasured gem especially if you like the country Inn ambiance vs. the bigger hotel or big box chains that are plentuful in the area. Situated on the outskirts of Ipswich and a mere five minute walk into town where there are plenty of shops, cafés, restaurants, antique stores and a lovely river walk to please. Not to mention the lovely couple who run this establishment and their very warm and caring, welcoming staff who made every effort to welcome us. These are pros. who have run the Inn for many years with many stories to tell I am sure but love every bit of their hard work and thriving business. Locals come for their delectable daily breakfasts, where with good weather one can sit on the covered deck and view the pretty gardens below. Also if you are lucky you may get a visit from the friendly family chicken who comes strutting up the stairs to see who has what for breakfast..a humorous sight for sure, or may be not... Our special visit was a prelude to accommodations for a wedding near by next year and came highly recommended. They also manage small weddings, rehearsal dinners and other functions on a small scale. Nothing too much for these wonderful people Go visit them...you will not be disappointed.. promise!

This was our second visit to the inn and it was just as nice as the first. We were in the wicker room both times. This room has a little fridge and kitchen sink. Last time there was a microwave but it was not there this time. Would be nice if they replaced it for heating up leftovers. Very comfy bed and quiet room. The breakfast is almost the best part of stay. My husband loves the apple pancakes.
