My husband and I knew as soon as we saw Friendly Crossways, that this was the only wedding venue for us. We loved that we could add our own personal touches on everything and that we could spend the entire weekend with family and friends. Mary Helen and Keith were great, helping us work out all of the little details...

Autumn in New England, historic home, great weather. This was the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding and reception. Also provided economical accommodations for the wedding party. the food was excellent, especially the desserts.

Thank you! We are blessed with beautiful couples and their loving families and friends, and so glad the fall foliage and weather has also contributed to these joyous weekend weddings.

My group has been coming to Friendly Crossways for years so we know the ropes. Mary Helan is always very helpful and we love it here, it's our home-away-from-home! it helps that we bring our own food and have a system for cleaning up after ourselves, so this is a perfect DIY hostel for our group. The grounds are lovely...

We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home by Mary, the owner/operator of the hostel. Our group of 8 used the dorm and a smaller room. The beds were clean, comfortable, and with far better mattresses than one might expect of the old-school hostels. And although this is the oldest continually operating hostel in the US, there has...

Thank you so much, Declan, for your kind words and for bringing your students. So much fun to be around their happy energy! Just a clarification on renting linens: that is an option for groups. Linens are included for individual (non-group) guests staying overnight.

A group of 8 of us stayed here for a night and it was great. Mary is a fantastic host and it was very quaint and cute. We stayed in the main dorm and it was quiet and comfortable. Definitely would recommend for anyone staying in the area who doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for a...

I was recently at Friendly Crossways for the Moishe Kavod House Retreat. This has been an incredible space to hold this. The immense amount of outdoor space allows multiple workshops and activities to happen simultaneously without interrupting each other. The outdoor space is almost perfect for rituals. The only downside is the gun range across the street could interfere with...

Sorry for really tardy 'Thank you!' for your kind words. We so enjoy having the Moishe Kavod House retreats here. Yep, sometimes there is activity at the sportsmen's club during the day, and I appreciate that you recognize that it can be "tuned out" pretty easily.

We had exclusive use of Friendly Crossways for our wedding this month, and it was the perfect place for us! If you are looking for a private, luxury getaway in the heart of the city, this is not it. But if you want a budget-friendly, community-centered, laid-back lodge to spend a weekend with your closest friends and family, Friendly Crossways...

I recently stayed at Friendly Crossways for a weekend workshop retreat, and had a wonderful time. It was convenient -- I came up by commuter rail from Cambridge, and the station was only a few minutes' drive away from the center, and they'll send a shuttle for you. Plenty of parking for those driving up. The food was incredible, even...

I traveled here with a group of high school youth for a team-building retreat. We spent three days here, and it was a great stay. I enjoyed the hostel and its grounds, which were well-kept. Mary Helen provided many answers to my questions and suggestions for to-dos, and David was extremely helpful in making sure that my youth and I...

Thank you for your positive review our property and services. I am so sorry that you and some of your students experienced allergy symptoms during your stay in August. We are striving even more diligently to stay on top of this possibility.

A very pleasant stay: the surroundings are extremely beautiful and the owner indicated great jogging/ walking trails nearby. I believe public transportation to Boston/ Cambridge may be long, but if you’re driving that is definitively a good option--much better than a road motel.
