Nestled in the scenic Berkshires, Vacation Village is a hit for its tranquil mountainside setting and proximity to local attractions like Jiminy Peak. While the hotel's cleanliness and abundant amenities, including pools and hot tubs, are highlights for many guests, opinions on the rooms vary. Some travelers relish the spaciousness, but others find the decor and furnishings dated. Although the cultural atmosphere is appreciated, the additional fees and perceived value have been points of contention. Service experiences tend to be positive, despite occasional lapses in staff responsiveness.

We've visited almost every weekend two ski seasons in a row. The convenience of the location (essentially across the road from Jiminy Peak) makes it easy and convenient. The good :
Almost all units are the same down to the same picture on the wall. For returning visitors like ourselves it makes for a very predictable experience. The furniture is a bit outdated, sofabed is really uncomfortable, but works for (small) kids. Bed is average (don't expect hotel standard). Kitchens are pretty well equipped and after a while you learn what to bring that is missing. Check in could be a lot faster (even returning guests fill in the same manual forms every time). Check out isn't necessary, just leave the room with the key cards inside.

Cons
Some really odd features like a jacuzzi in the carpeted bedroom, fake fire place etc.
Staff do their thing, but are absolutely not service minded. I don't know how they are incentivised, but it is pretty obvious that customer satisfaction isn't in their kpis. I wouldn't say they are unfriendly, but they just don't seem to care.
The lost and found system they have is a complete disaster. We've left items twice and just remembered on the way home. When you call them they will send you an sms with and online form to fill in. Upon completion you will receive an sms receipt where they say they'll contact you. Don't hold your breath. That never happens. We followed up with multiple calls. They claim in both instances they couldn't find the items (we are talking about a cooler in the fridge and some technical equipment). Not exactly things that gets lost in a hotel room. We've followed up in person when arriving the following weekend and the staff has met us with a frown. When we found out that nobody had checked in to the unit we used the previous weekend until the very day we came, we went down and talked to the very nice folks that were in our previous room. We checked for the equipment together. Nothing, which means the staff has removed it and either taken it or it is lost somewhere in their completely inadequate system.
We'll probably keep coming back out of convenience, but I really think they should consider schooling their staff and upgrading their standards. Everyone has a tolerance limit and we're reaching ours just out of the lack of respect for their returning customers and their belongings

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry for the few issues that you encountered during your vacation stay. Please know that we strive to provide the best service and accommodations to all of our guests. After having forwarded your comments to the General Manager, it was noted that we were unable to locate the actual “lost” report you filed with us. Our staff has searched all the way back to January 1st and there is no record of a lost cooler. We will continue to check with housekeeping to see if there is possibly a cooler that has not been logged but we are all on this new system of logging lost and found items for accuracy. It really is a very simple process. The link is https://www.chargerback.com/reportlostitemcbembed.asp?customerid=17404&languagecode=en-US. If you can, please call the resort's front desk to speak to the front desk supervisor more on your lost cooler. We wish you great future vacations.

This resort is in a beautiful location, check-in and check-out was quick and efficient and maintenance was very responsive. However , there were some drawbacks. Given the pandemic, the game room was not open. The staff did not enforce/encourage mask wearing, so going to the pool was not safe. The kitchen did not have a blender, whisk, mixer, baking pans, electric mixer so cooking was limited. The electric stove was hard to use if you like a gas stove and the smoke detector went off with only a little smoke. Many indoor places in Mass were closed or open only Thurs-Sunday so be sure to check in advance if you have specific things in mind that you want to see.

We had a 2 bedroom unit (which is actually 2 separate apartments). Any of the units are nice and roomy, clean and well stocked. The mattress in one room was great, the other wasn't terrific, but not a deal breaker. The pull out couches leave alot to be desired, but I don't think any pull out couch is ever great. LOL The outdoor pool was open, monitored closely by staff, & bathrooms there were always clean. Outdoor shower, poolside towels & lots of chairs and loungers - people were careful to stay 6 ft apart. All staff were polite, helpful and always wore masks. We had stayed here before and liked it. Before COVID they had DVD rentals (now you have to bring your own) but we just brought our Firestick since they upgraded the TV's.(don't forget your remote!). The game room, indoor pool, hot tub & activity center were all closed, but we came knowing that because we wanted the "quiet". Outdoor grills were usable as were softball & basketball courts. Hiking trails available in the area, small grocery store nearby and larger not too far a drive. We didn't bother checking any "activities" in the area since we figured they'd be closed due to the virus & we had done most last time. Brought our own Lysol & Clorax wipes to clean everything when we came in just to be safe. Across the street from a ski resort, so I imagine they are much busier in the winter. Would visit again.

If you’re a large family with young children, and you’re so rude that you like to let your children run around at all hours of the day and night without a care for anyone else around you, then this is the place for you! If you actually want to have a quiet and peaceful vacation then do NOT even think about staying here!! I have never experienced so many ignorant, oblivious parents in my entire life. People leaving their doors open and letting their kids run around in their units as well as through the halls without concern or respect for others that are also staying there.

We texted and called the front desk several times about the noise over the first few days but anything they may have done to quiet the rude families inconsiderate behavior only lasted briefly, and soon enough the running of the bulls was going again. After the second day we requested to be moved to a different unit and the woman at the front desk was very accommodating. She asked why we wanted to move, if something was wrong with the unit or was there a noise problem, so obviously the noise is an ongoing issue.

The big problem is that the buildings were stick-built, don’t have a drop of concrete or an ounce of insulation, so noise travels through the ENTIRE building. You would think people would realize this very quickly and actually try to be quiet, but no, I think they actually promoted their kids running around and screaming like maniacs!

Aside from the incessant noise, aesthetically the resort overall and the units were fine. They could definitely clean them better, unless the spiders in the same corners of each bathroom is something that they’re really going for. Also, the fireplace is just for show and doesn’t throw any heat. We stayed in a B unit which had a small kitchen with no dishwasher and a double hot-plate/cooktop contraption.

If you decide to stay here, good luck.....and pack sleeping pills, ear plugs, and a lot of alcohol to numb the pain of aggravation.

Thanks for your detailed review, kiki1776. We apologize for the noise issues you had with some of your neighbors. We may have a lot of very boisterous guests in house this week as it is one of the heaviest travel weeks we have experienced here in the Berkshires. We have many reservations that are linked with many others as there are so many families travelling together. We do try our very best to diffuse noise complaint situations and offer a room move if we have the availability. In the future, we suggest you request a top floor at least two weeks prior to your check in dates and that may help alleviate this noise issue. After submitting your comments to the General Manager, it has been noted that the cleanliness will be discussed with the Housekeeping Manager. Thanks again for your feedback and we hope to make it up to you in the future.

Please add saftey bars near toilets and spa areas Consider senilors usage. If there are no two bedroom available, and only a \ock out is available the user should not be charged extra. I just don't get why a $30 fee is charged when using points. What is that about? We became time share buyers so we could go to dilfferent places and see different things. That is what the point system is about. Why am I being penolized and charged and extra $30. This is the second time in less than a year. You guys don't want me to really make a stink..

Reserving a unit is always a gamble. This on e is a winner!
It checks off all the boxes that are a priority for me.
* Immaculate. No dust bunnies, no stains, no greasy grimy build up in kitchen and bathroom corners.
* Comfortable bed and pillows, with high quality linens.
* Air conditionering that is strong and super quiet.
* Full size refrigerator that works well and quietly.

A few negatives.
The unit lacks good lighting over the bathroom vanity mirror, which was the only mirror in the unit.
We were placed in unit 3202, which is on the ground floor and the only view we had was of cars parked right outside our window and balcony.

And many more positives.
All of the staff were amazingly nice and accomodating.
The unit was very spacious. All the furniture was very well maintained. I did not think that any of it was dated or needed replacing.
A large laundry room, with full size washers and dryers, is available on every floor. Whenever I needed to do laundry, the room was empty.
The pictures on the website are totally accurate.
Checkin was super fast and easy, checkout even easier. For checkout, just leave. You don't even have to call!

It is a fantastic place to stay in the Berkshire Mountains.

During the pandemic when travels are restricted to road trips for safety reasons, we decided to use our timeshare in the Vacation Village in the Berkshires. We requested the unit we purchased Unit 1311-A (and rented out Unit B lockout). It’s on the third floor facing the garden. This time we brought a lot of frozen and cooked food bc some restaurants are still closed or have limited seating and menu. In the resort staff and guests wear face mask. From Long Island we drove 3.5 hours straight and checked in at 4:15pm to make sure we get Unit 1311A. We learned in the past that one is not guaranteed of the purchased unit and that time when we checked in past 7pm we got the worst 1st floor unit facing the parking lot (and car headlights shining thru. Read the fine prints in the purchase agreement they informed us - so why did we pay extra to buy a third floor unit??) Anyway so happy we are spending a week here in unit 1311A. Was hectic days before driving here bc we lost power for 4 days due to storm Isaias and so doing a lot of resting and eating here. There are 2 huge pools and playground and see a lot of families enjoying these amenities. Hoping to find a bakery that sells cherry and blueberry pies.

The place is old . No updates in years. It will remind you of a neglected trailer park. There is no security anyone can enter the hallways of the units. There is a second door to enter your room which is not locked or require a key. Anyone can be hiding behind the door. My outside door had pry marks on it.
If you are looking for a nice family place go anywere else AVOID this place . It was the biggest waste of money

We are disappointed to hear that our resort did not meet your expectations. The safety and comfort of all of our guests is our number one priority. Vacation Village in the Berkshires offers 24-hour security and the front desk is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. For the safety of all of our owners, guests, and staff, all entrances and exits of buildings lock automatically at 5:00 PM and are only accessible with a valid guest room key. It is important to note that we have a centrally located security office and newly updated security cameras throughout resort. All security officers have golf carts and one officer patrols pools and buildings on foot during the evening. Vacation Village Resorts and Vacation Village in the Berkshires take security very seriously and will continue to carefully monitor the safety at our resort. We hope you have a better experience at our resort in the future.

Grounds and units are kept nice. Hotels and resorts are using low density foam mattresses these days, with no springs. I remembered to bring a 2" foam topper. Otherwise I'd have been unable to sleep. Thin pull-out sofa mattress has springs, but looks like same topper would be needed.
The Wi-Fi internet does not allow for streaming and DVD library is thin. No premium channels. That's way it is in northern part of Berkshire County. TVs are good, though.
Water in Berkshires is treated with much chlorine. Bring bottled.
Guests seem to be mostly older folks and families with younger teens and children this time of year. Quiet.

Vacation Village in the Berkshires does offer Wi-Fi, but it is unfortunate you did not have a strong signal with your cell phone carrier. Hopefully, you were still able to enjoy the resort's location and onsite amenities like the swimming pools, playgrounds, and fitness center. We hope to make it up to you in the future.

We had a nice one bedroom lockout unit, Full kitchen means it is the larger of the lockouts (2 bedroom) otherwise. It is across the street from Jiminy Peak ski and recreation area. The pool and outdoor hot tub were great and weekdays not at all crowded. The Friday before we left it was in active use by families and children. The grounds are large and we were able to get walking exercise in. We love the area hiking but it was abnormally cold and still snow covered so having the roads to walk on were great. We loved the gas fireplace. Direct TV offered adequate standard channels. The free laundry on our floor had 2 washers and 2 dryers. The room was clean. We brought our dog for a $175 for the week ,fee mind you. The outside recycle bins were overflowing and blowing around. They were that way for a couple days. The locks in pool locker room for men did not work. Electronic so my guess was dead batteries. Nearby is M&Ms Tap and Tavern in New Lebanon. Very good brick oven pizza, wings, beer taps etc. About a 20 minute drive. Check it out. Jiminy Peak's Christianson Tavern is very good too but more pricey.

Hello! The decor is New England style but with lots of brown that makes the style dated (and the kitchen has Formica tops). The big plus side is that it is clean, reasonably priced with full kitchen if in the A or C units and good for families with young children. Buildings 13 and 14 are nicely situated. Have a great time
