Rhonda went above and beyond to ensure a comfy stay! She even set out birthday presents and a balloon for my nieces 10th birthday! Everything was so cozy and comfortable. Terrific coffee and breakfast in the lobby each morning was a plus!

The whole atmosphere at this motel was amazing. Rhonda has such a great energy and was beyond welcoming to my coworkers and I! We will absolutely be coming back and look forward it it! The camp fire at night with s’mores and new friends was exactly what we needed to finish our work day! The rooms have everything you would need, breakfast in the morning was delightful with pastries and bagels, fruit and snacks! Plus the coffee was perfect! It felt like you walked into s friends kitchen with everything you could want! Extremely cozy lobby area with some great fur friends! Highly recommend this motel for any stay you need in the area!

This was our third year staying at the Briarcliff. The motel and Innkeeper Rhonda are phenomenal. An absolutely welcoming and accomodating location, would absolutely recommend staying here when you're in the area.

Best family stay ever! We even got to include our family dog! The rooms are very clean and cozy and can be connected. The continental breakfast was vast, from danishes and donuts to granola, fresh fruit and yogurt. Coffee options included almond milk and oat milk, both family favorites in our house. The innkeeper, Rhonda, is welcoming and very accommodating in a convenient way, in that all you may need is already waiting conveniently or steps away at the front office. We also loved the fire pit and our kids took advantage of the complimentary s’mores kits. Our dog enjoyed some sneak graham crackers too! The view is also amazing and tucked away from the road, which made the rooms quiet at night and felt safe to walk our dog. Then, when we were too tired to do more outdoor fun, the WiFi worked without glitching so we could watch our favorite picks with our fire stick. This weekend stay soothed away all the stress from the work week. Highly recommend this place for a getaway!

This was our family’s second stay at the Briarcliff. It is such a cute motel and was perfect for the four of us. Butternut is a short drive away as is Great Barrington with ith great restaurants and shops. Rhonda was very attentive and pleasant and made us feel quite welcomed. We can’t wait to stay here again!

This felt more like a lovely bed and breakfast than a motel. The attention to detail by the Manager, Rhonda, is wonderful. She is warm and welcoming and clearly takes pride in the Briarcliff. I enjoyed starting each day in the cozy lobby with Rhonda and her Boston Terriers having coffee and a bagel. She had very helpful recommendations about the area and its Restaurants and activities. I live in a Manhattan apt where the doormen make my life easier, more pleasant and make me feel safe. That is what Rhonda does. The rooms are cute and have a view of forest and mountain in both front and back. The motel is set back away from the road and only yards away from great trail heads. It is a quick drive to picture postcard towns. I cannot wait to return!

Reserved a room with one king bed & arrived in the middle of a snowstorm en route to Boston from Upstate NY. Upon arrival, the property was empty, with no sign of anyone on-site. A memo was posted on the lobby door to call their sister Inn (the Red Lion Inn down the street - which I think is amazing btw) for check-in procedures. When I called the Red Lion Inn, they instructed me that they didn't see any clean rooms available at Briarcliff, but would call their innkeeper Rhonda to confirm my reservation for a room with one king bed. I didn't receive a callback but walked back to the main lobby and noticed a woman sitting at the computer in the dark through the window - strange. Mind you; it's 2:40 PM with check-in at 3 PM in the middle of a snowstorm - frankly, I wouldn't have even been spending a night out in the Berkshires if the weather was better. Just looking for a simple, clean bed with a hotel group I trusted. I waved to get Rhonda's attention, and after several attempts, she finally came over to the door and opened it a crack. She smugly looked at me and asked, "can I help you?" I explained I was there to check in as there were no other cars in the parking lot. Immediately she abruptly responded, "Well, you booked through Expedia & we don't have any rooms with one bed." Ok, no problem; it was just me traveling, and didn't care if there wasn't a king room available at all, but why was that option even listed in the first place as an option online - not my fault. Then Rhonda's horrendous attitude and lack of empathy continued, "Check-In is at 3:00PM and it's 2:38; ok - do you understand? You got that information from the Red Lion already right" talking down to me as if I was a child. I was taken aback; the fake smile, extraordinarily rude tone, and clear lack of awareness of the situation - there was not a single other guest on property, and it was snowing with no room of my reserved booking specification available. At the moment, I just looked at her and responded, "Yeah, I guess that's cool - no need for the attitude, though." Her rebuttal - "No attitude, but I can cancel your reservation right now, and you can go somewhere else." - are you serious? At this point, I was so shocked at the extraordinary lack of hospitality that I just relented and told her to cancel. I've traveled to the Berkshires dozens of times. I have stayed at the Red Lion Inn for years as one of my absolute favorite destinations - really can't believe that an organization of that stature would employ an innkeeper with such an unprofessional, lazy and cold demeanor. I worked in Hotel management for the Hilton group for eight years and would fire Rhonda immediately. I was so bothered by this interaction that I drove back into Stockbridge to lodge an official complaint about Rhonda with the woman at the front desk of the Red Lion Inn, who was wonderful and apologetic. This is my first time writing a review on this site, and hope I never have to again - not seeking anything other than to let others know about my horrible experience at the Briarcliff Motel in Great Barrington. Many other beautiful accommodations in the area don't include the foul service delivered by Rhonda. Still waiting for the canceled booking refund to come through.

The Briarcliff Motel could not have been a better answer for my situation. My Mom is 87 and took a turn for the worse and was in the hospital. Landing at the Briacliff was what got me through it. The Inn Keeper was incredible, the rooms were adorable, clean, comforting and we were coming and going all through the night for about a week. I highly recommend this place it was better for us than a 5 star hotel and even the Ritz!

Always a great experience staying with Briarcliff 😊 Rhonda is exceptional and runs a tight ship. With complimentary breakfast, a lovely lobby, and a location within 15 minutes of anything I'd want to do, this is the perfect place to stay in the Berkshires. The rooms have mini fridges and microwaves, perfect for short stays and reheating leftovers from one of the many amazing local restaurants! If you're considering booking here, do it!
