I loved this place for the friendly, helpful hosts and the delicious breakfasts of scones, muffins and amazing granola. The rooms have very comfy beds and good showers. The two drawbacks are that the walls are very thin-I could hear the entire conversation of the man on his cell phone in the next room. And the lighting isn't very good.... More

I've now had the pleasure of staying twice at the Briarcliff Motel, both times within the short span of a few weeks. Whether one is a solo traveler or traveling with family, the Briarcliff is a most welcoming and enjoyable place to stay when vacationing in the Berkshires. The location is great and the homemade scones and granola are impossible... More

It's our favorite place to stay in Great Barrington. We have been traveling to the area for several years now and it's always our first choice. It is a perfect location for enjoying any season in the Berkshire's and all the activities it offers. The setting is unique, cozy and friendly. You will feel like you just stayed with family.... Large spacious room. Two comfy easy chairs and small coffee table. Larger table and chair to sit at for PCs etc nice clean bathroom. Sat outside with artificial fire made to look real with a glass of wine. Home made scones and muffins for breakfast. Only stayed one night wish it was more Richard and Claire vey welcoming

We have stayed here every summer for the last few years and it never disappoints. We take our young daughter. The king room is large enough for the three of us. The rooms are decorated in a modern style, always clean and well taken care of. Claire and Richard, the hoteliers are hospitable, welcoming, warm, and provide great recommendations. The... More

We had a lovely stay with Richard and Claire this weekend for a family wedding. Hotel is clean, nicely decorated, close to all. Delicious breakfast served in the AM plus a great firepit in the evening. Had everything we needed including hair dryers, extra towels, wine glasses. Highly recommend going directly across the street to hike monument mountain- we took... More

My wife and I have stayed here five times since 2012 both summer and winter. The location could not be better, less than fifteen minutes to Tanglewood and about three miles to the Butternut ski area (and a few more miles to Catamount). Restaurants in Great Barrington, Stockbridge and Lenox are also an easy drive. The rooms are spotless, with... More

I was a little hesitant to book at a motel, preferring hotels. I was attending a conference in New York and this was the closest I could get. The accommodations were spot on and the desk person very friendly. Because I had to be at my meetings by 7am, I was unable to enjoy their breakfasts. They were so sweet... More

We stayed at the Briarcliff in early July this summer and it was a wonderful vacation! Clare and Richard are friendly, accommodating hosts with many ideas about local resources. Clare bakes a delicious variety of treats each morning, such as scones and granola, muffins and biscuits as part of the inclusive fresh breakfast spread which also includes locally sourced coffee,... Noting special. In many ways an old fashion, side of the road motel. But it was clean, well furnished in a 60's style. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was average, at best. But given the price of some of the other places in the area, maybe not so bad.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
New English owners Clare & Richard Proctor have turned this classic 1960 motor lodge, with its spectacular view of Monument Mountain, into a cool 21st century b&b. We offer great value, clean comfortable rooms with a stylish edge, free wifi, a home-made breakfast of scones, muffins and granola with locally-roasted coffee, and a warm welcome. Chill out on the deck in summer, or by the stove in our guest lounge in winter. We are five minutes from Great Barrington and Stockbridge, and under 15 from Tanglewood. ... more   less
