As of December 2013 this property now is closed and I believe it has been sold. I understand the new owner has other uses for it. I have no personal experience with this property outside of being a Gloucester, MA, resident and occasionally driving past it -- and reading about the sale in the local newspaper.

I've never written a review before in my life - but felt I needed to after my HORRENDOUS experience at this hotel. The fact that the owner shut us out of the bed and breakfast until 3 pm - literally, locked us out of the place - shows the "warmth" that this place had. The breakfast was beyond measly -... More

My Girlfriend and I had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful little place last weekend and I have to say that we will definitely be staying there again! Smack dab in the middle of some of Massachusetts' best attractions including Gloucester, Rockport, Salem and Boston, Inn Magnolia's location is perfect for a weekend get away. We stayed in the... Close to Gloucester,Rockport. The annex is like an older motel. Breakfast was nothing special. the Inn needs updating but is a pretty old building. We thought Magnolia was an odd place, town was like a ghost town. Beach was lovely. Probably wouldn't go back.

I would rather give ZERO rating for this horrible place if it was possible! We stayed in Magnolia Inn for two days - Friday to Sunday in September using Groupon deal. The average price was not cheap at all - around 140$ per night but it eventually turned out to be even more expensive since the keeper decided to steal... More

The best part of Inn Magnolia was its location. We were in town for a family wedding, and the Inn was blocks from the wedding venue. The outdoor spaces and the garden are lovely, especially enjoyable, since the weather was wonderful. The same cannot be said for the rooms of the annex. We reserved two rooms for a two night... I stayed at Inn Magnolia for Labor Day week end. First I was surprised that the annex (where we stayed) looked like there has not been any improvement since the 60's; as if we were staying in a cheap motel (ah, the lovely apple green shade of the bathtub, toilets and sink ...) A complete disconnect with the main building... More

The Inn and our room was spacious and nicely decorated. TV was 22 inch watched at a distance of 12 feet which is too far. Parking lot was not paved but OK. Bed was too soft for my liking. Smelled a bit musty but that should be expected near the ocean. Breakfast was a bit Spartan. Coffee was great. Short... More

Our inn keeper was unpleasant, the linens and screens in our room were ripped and the breakfast was cold and sparse. The whole reason to stay at a bed and breakfast is the warm and welcoming atmosphere--that atmosphere is nonexistent at Inn Magnolia!!!!

Part of the fun of staying in a Bed and Breakfast is meeting so many different innkeepers who are , for the most part, warm and welcoming. On the outside Inn Magnolia is just as it is pictured on the web page. Lovely old house, nice grounds and great location. The first indication that this is not your typical B&B... More
