My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised by this quiet, quaint mom and pop motel. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. Only 10 minutes from downtown Gloucester. A good value with no bells and whistles.
Stayed for 3 days for a fishing trip. The owners were absolutely wonderful & very accommodating. It is a bit of a smaller room but it was super clean, probably the cleanest room I’ve ever been in. Would absolutely stay again. Easy access to everywhere
My growing family has stayed at the Wingaersheek for years. If you're looking for slick & modern, look again. We love that the owners are warm & welcoming & the rooms are homey and feel like Cape Ann.
We booked this motel for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. It's conveniently located a few short minutes from the West Gloucester train station which we took into Salem and Rockport. It was clean and cute, and located in a quiet neighborhood. I loved having a microwave and a fridge, not a feature in many budget motels I've stayed in. Housekeeping kept our room tidy and stocked with fresh towels and coffee. We loved the fast wifi and even watched a movie on cable TV like it was the 90s! Could the room use a coat of paint? Sure, but are you coming here for that? I would definitely recommend it if you're coming to the North Shore.
We stayed in the Cottage (Room 9), it's quite outdated but well furnished and equipped. Kitchen has utensils / pots / fridge / small coffee maker. We chose this motel for the proximity to Wingaersheek beach and stayed for the night. Bathroom amenities were provided, kitchenette has a table, small deck is unusable as it was too damp and is next to the propane tanks. Overall, good cottage for a short family stay.
My husband and I went away for the weekend, this was such a cute Place to stay. Very clean room, very roomy, nice staff. Only stayed one night, but we would like to go back closers to the summer. It was a good location, so we would like to return.
I spent a weekend at the Wingaersheek Inn & Motel. I was in the area to scuba dive with Seals. I was in room #8 - it was clean and comfortable. It had a mini refrigerator, large jacuzzi tub, coffee station, and sky light. The bed was queen size and was very comfortable. The Inn & Motel is located just a few minutes by car to most attractions and dining options. The grounds are very quite which provide a very relaxing atmosphere.
It was an awesome vacation! The house location was perfect - across the street from the entry to the private beach. The house was absolutely perfect too- three decks facing the ocean with one screened in. With 4 children 7 and younger, the 1st floor family room was so great. The kids could watch tv, play games and spread out with toys without being underfoot. The open concept on the 2nd floor made it easy to make dinner in the kitchen while someone else grilled on the deck and still left room for drinks to be made on the island/counter. Three full baths and an outdoor hot & cold shower made it possible for all to shower and get ready for dinner quickly after a day at the beach. The 3rd floor master suite was amazing with its large bath and the private deck with amazing views. The owners were the nicest people. They left a little gift of local treats and wine. He came by during the week to do a task in the yard. He was as unobtrusive as possible and so friendly. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who’d like a great house in a great location for the perfect beach vacation…
I have to say...I was very pleased with our stay here. We stayed June15-17 in unit 5. The room was very clean, nicely furnished and the bed was really comfortable. Yes, the room was a bit small, but it was very cozy. There is a nice patio area in front with chairs to relax. For $110 a night it was worth every penny. This area is quite expensive, so this was a great deal. The owners were very friendly, as were the other guests. The property was very quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what we were looking for. About a mile away is Wingaersheek beach. There are also some great restaurants close by and a country store right down the street. We will definitely return! I took a look at the suites as well, which looked pretty great. I think we may treat ourselves to one next time : )
Ellen and the team at Wingaersheek Motel generously opened their doors to our crew from the Schooner Roseway when they arrived in Gloucester in early April one cold night. Their hospitality was a welcome respite for several days. Their rooms are the definition of "cozy" and are well furnished and equipped. There is a lovely lobby that will remind you of home. We are so grateful and happy to recommend this spot to all. - World Ocean School aboard Schooner Roseway
