My wife and I have stayed here multiple times. The staff is so welcoming; the rooms are lovely and the location across from the magnificent Good Harbor Beach is amazing. Owners Tony and Ed are so gracious -- we consider our stay so terrific. If you want a lovely experience, you definitely should consider staying here.
We have been coming back to Blue Shutters for 7 years, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year. Owners have done a great job carving a variety of accommodations out of a wonky, historic building. Prices are more than reasonable given that you are steps away from a magnificent beach (and don't have to pay $30 to park). Gloucester has much to do and see (plus great seafood!), Rockport & Ipswich a short drive away, and Salem, just a 1/2 hour. Owners are so friendly and actually take time to know their guests. We have found our home away from home...
Great location, but shabby interior. Bathrooms are small, linoleum covered, airless spaces with no air conditioning. Some rooms must share. No breakfast and little service. It feels like your great- grandmother’s beach cottage without the nostalgia. Worn, mismatched furniture without charm. Good location for the beach. Surprisingly high room rates.
The owners were super friendly the place was superb! The view was breathtaking We went to celebrate a birthday and had a blast Would highly recommend this place and we hope to return soon Recommendations for nearby restaurants and things to do were also wonderful
Never thought I would enjoy staying at a bed & breakfast. I'm a "hotel kind of person". Got invited by a friend. I was pleasantly surprised. I didnt want to leave. Ed, an owner was so welcoming. I'm definately going back.
I've been both a guest and visitor to Blue Shutters. You won't find more pleasant hosts with deep knowledge of the area, comfortable rooms, and you can almost fall out of your room onto Good Harbor beach. What more could you want?
Nice and quaint little place (12 rooms). It was very clean wonderful views of the beach from my Room. The owners Tony and Ed were really nice. I would absolutely come back and I would also recommend it.
We've stayed at Blue Shutters several times, once in a regular style room and a couple times in a suite with a small galley kitchen. The kitchen was VERY helpful to have for longer stays. The folks that own/run Blue Shutters could not be nicer. The facility itself could use some updating, but mainly of a cosmetic nature. The location is outstanding as you can easily walk to Good Harbor beach. The view from the Inn is spectacular!
Our stay at the Blue Shutters was wonderful. Ideal location Great hosts who make you feel like family, incredible views just a perfect spot to relax.Located close to every thing, plenty of things to do in the area.
Unfortunately, our visit to Gloucester and Blue Shutters was due to our mother/grandmother’s passing. Our family gathered there to celebrate her life. Our hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming, warm and gracious. Thank you Ed, AnneMarie, Tony and Patty for providing a welcoming space for all of us! The place is lovely and the location is perfect for relaxing and enjoying one of the best beaches in the country! Best wishes from the Greengross/Levine family.
