My husband and I try to get to the Cape at least once a year and always our go to place to stay is the Coonamessett Inn. The staff are all wonderful and we always feel so welcome any time we stay. We stayed in a Village King Suite and loved the separate living room. The rooms all seem to be freshly updated with beautiful white drapes and comforters with a comfortable mattress and great pillows. There is a great continental breakfast included with the room with wonderful selections including homemade blueberry and strawberry jams, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, bagels, and wonderful pastries. We also always make it a point to have at least one dinner at the restaurant there. The food and presentation are excellent and eating there is always one of the highlights of our stay. The inn is very close to the Shining Seas bike path as well as near Woods Hole. We feel so grateful to not have to search where to stay when we go to the Cape as we'd never stay anywhere other than the Coonamessett Inn! We've gotten spoiled!

This was my second time staying at this lovely inn. We got the same room as the previous time, room 17, and had the same great experience. The room is located towards the end of the village area, in a corner which makes it really private.
The bedroom was still in optimal condition, and everything looked really nice and clean, with great decor. The livingroom area has a beautiful view of the pond, and is equipped with an extra tv and a mini fridge. The bedroom is lovely, and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom is a bit small for a suite room, but has a decent size shower with really nice toiletries.
Breakfast is included, but this time was offered as take out due to Covid19 precautions, but you can still have it in the terrace. There’s a table with lots of options and you can create your own take-out bag. For dinner you can also order take out from the Tavern or dine-in on the terrace.
I love the fact that they have bikes on site that you can rent for free for the day. Service was great as well. I don’t have any complaints, and in my opinion you get a lot for a very reasonable price.

In the process of booking and planning my trip to Cape Cod, I spent some time trying to find a place to stay that was relatively affordable but high quality at the same time. I came across the Coonamessett and was initially skeptical; its prices for a two bedroom suite were quite a bit lower than almost anywhere else on the Cape, and the rooms looked relatively smart. After having stayed there, I would certainly return, and wanted to put some of our experiences into a review as I think it would have helped me during my planning process!

In terms of location, the Coonamessett is well placed in Falmouth. You can walk from the Coonamessett down to Falmouth town centre itself, though we only ever drove. Falmouth is quite far from the National Seashore and a lot of the areas that we planned to explore, but we found it was nonetheless a great base for us to explore, particularly as we planned to spend a day on Martha’s Vineyard. (A ferry departs from nearby Woods Hole.)

The Inn itself and the communal areas are very bright and airy, and we appreciated the decor, though it was clear that some areas could do with some light maintenance. This extended to our suite, as there was some wear and tear. That said, the suite’s condition was generally very good, and rooms were nicely (albeit minimalistically) furnished.

Service really stood out during our stay and we had nothing but positive interactions with the Inn’s staff and team members, who were very friendly and eager to help whenever they could. The one issue that we had with our room was dealt with proactively and almost immediately after raising the issue with the team.

I wasn’t aware when booking that the Inn offered a complimentary breakfast - I booked through a third party and this wasn’t mentioned - but we made use of it each morning and were pleasantly surprised with the selection of food on offer. It is a continental breakfast and selections varied slightly each day, but we found that there was ample selection unless you are particularly fussy! There were always around 3 choices of pastries available, as well as fruits, yoghurt, bread and bagels plus some brand cereals. The pastries tended to be more on the unique side, and so I’d have preferred to have some more basic ones on offer (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc) for the fussy eater in our family, but otherwise, we were very happy with the offerings and it saved us a little money as we had initially budgeted to have breakfast elsewhere!

As I’ve already stated, we were really happy with our stay at the Coonamessett and in particular with the service provided by their excellent team. Though Falmouth isn’t as close to some of the Cape’s attractions as other towns, I would absolutely return given the value for money offered by the Inn and the standard of service provided throughout our stay!

Unfortunately, we think this hotel is more a motel and not as advertised. The lower rooms were dark and our room had a musty smell. There is no functional chair's to sit on in the room. The limited amenities cater to the restaurant patrons and not the hotel guests who can't enjoy the deck without an advanced dinner reservation with the restaurant even if it's empty. Both the front desk and bar closes at 8PM on weekdays and the continental breakfast is limited and left over from the day before including the fruits. We stayed for three nights and it was a big disappointment luckily we spent the rest of our vacation at another Inn that was much more accommodating.

I highly recommend The Coonamessett as a wedding venue. We liked the beautiful sitting on the lake, and the Cape Cod room is a fabulous place to have as many as 300 people, with views over the lake and an outdoor patio and a full bar.
The food is fabulous. It starts with a continental breakfast, which includes quiche and pastries, fruit and yogurt, bagels, and peanut butter, as well as cream cheese, along with the coffee and lots of tea choices. Eli’s tavern on site is a good place to have lunch or dinner, with the same excellent food. And the food at the wedding is fabulous, with a number of stations like fajitas, seafood, pasta, mashed potato bar, etc.
The location of the Coonamessett is just a few blocks up from Main Street and within a mile or two of the beach. The nearby major road did impact the wedding service a bit, with traffic noise coming in from the side. But the setting is beautifully landscaped, and there are scenic niches for wedding photographs. Dawn, the wedding coordinator was very warm and welcoming, and very attentive to my daughter and her groom at the wedding, getting them food and drink, and making sure things went smoothly. The venue offers a list of vendors for music, flowers, baked goods, and anything else you might need on site for the wedding. I highly recommend this place and I’m very happy with our choice.

This property has everything you need and more but the true essence lies with Maureen and her Team. From the moment we arrived to goodbye (truly "see you later"), we felt welcome and cared for, specially in these troubled times. And with that in mind we drove home to the North Shore reminiscing on our 3rd anniversary weekend. And so, for 2 hours we talked about the room which was well appointed, clean, comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The complimentary bikes and the 12 miles we rode back and forth to the Nobska Lighthouse, and so many other little details that is just perfect. But again, most importantly, we could not stop talking about how The Coonamessett and the people there made us feel, it was such a special connection that I wish I could go back every weekend. A big THANK YOU to everyone. We are very appreciative.

The Coonamessett restaurant was a favorite of ours, we will not be going back after yesterday’s meal.
On the positive side the location is great and our server, Alyssa L was excellent.
My wife ordered Caesar salad with chicken.
The Romaine lettuce was served grilled as one large chunk, not very appetizing. My
sea scallops were good but only five on a thin coating of purée butternut squash.
Too many great restaurants close by to have to deal with those issues.

Thank you for sharing this feedback! We're honored you consider us to be a local favorite, but we're very sorry to hear you weren't satisfied by your most recent experience dining with us. While we are very proud of our menu, bringing creative twists to classic New England dishes, we also understand that sometimes we can miss the mark, and we'll take this feedback into consideration. However, we're glad you were pleased with our location and the service from our staff. We hope you'll give us another shot in the future to earn back our spot as one of your favorites!

This place is not as depicted. Beat up, peeling paint, in window air conditioners that are disgusting. When entering room, open screen door go into an area that feels like a cave. Use a key to access not a card. Once in room, ceilings low. Furnishings are new, laminate floor is trendy but overall it is bad. We had to pay for the first night even though we checked out as soon as we saw the place. Grounds awful. Unfortunately, the picture don’t depict how run down it is.

Hi skane27394, Thanks for your feedback and for giving our centrally located Falmouth boutique a try. Our team works hard to ensure that we have a diversity of room offerings to accommodate guest’s needs and upkeep those offerings to the best of our ability. It’s clear those efforts didn’t resonate with you which we’re sorry to hear. We’d suggest exploring one of our other accommodations during your next adventure in the area. In any case, it was a pleasure having you stop by and we wish you all the best. Take care!

Really enjoyed our stay here during the off-season. Stayed two nights in a queen room with couch. Loved relaxing in the living area since it rained a bunch while we were there. Enjoyed being able to walk to dinner in Falmouth downtown from here (walk is quite dark so bring a flashlight or use your phone.) Minor complaints preventing 5 stars - room was super hot no matter what we did with thermostat, and bagels in breakfast buffet were super stale.

The Coonamesset inn is always a delight to stay in. The rooms are clean, spacious and stylish. The hotel staff and front desk are friendly and accommodating. Free breakfast is wonderful sitting out on their beautiful patio. Falmouth isn’t the most central part of Cape Cod but I stay here specifically because the hotel itself is so pleasant.

Yes! There’s lot’s of restaurants and shops down on Main St. which is about a 15 min walk. They have bikes as well free of charge for hotel guests. I recommend Maison Villate for breakfast, they have delicious bake goods and déserts. And Glass Onion for a fancy dinner!
