I can’t say enough good about this creepy, professional, and fun experience! Very clean and followed COVID guidelines. There really is too much to describe fully here. We stayed overnight in the John Morse room, very unnerving considering that’s where Abby got murdered, hacked over 18 to 21 times I think is what the tour guide said. Our guide, Danielle, was phenomenal. That’s no exaggeration. She definitely knows her history and remained unbiased through the tour, giving us all the MANY facts to think through that could’ve led to anyone being the murderer (murderers?). She talks about how both autopsies were performed in dining room, WHILE you’re standing in the dining room in the middle of the night. Graphic pictures are shown that were taken from the crime scene. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. This is something I wanted to do my whole life, it’s a my bucket list thing, and it exceeded my expectations I would totally do it again.... but I don’t think my daughter, 16-year-old would do it again LOL ...she thoroughly loved it ...especially the tour, her 16-year-old friend joined us and said they had an amazing time and learned so much and it was so much fun for them, particular when we all got to play the jury at the end. ...........But she definitely did not enjoy sleeping in the John Morse room. It was creepy no doubt, and I’ve been wanting to do this my whole life, I love everything haunted and horror movies. I went downstairs alone at night and took some photos around 11:30. I stayed up till 3am and was going to go downstairs again and decided against it, honestly just said to myself..”nope I’ll skip it.” I do believe someone or something is there, and the examples shown and told by the guide are definitely believable. That’s all I can say. I had a an overwhelming feeling and want to be very respectful to my surroundings, considering I’m sleeping in the room someone was murdered in... and you stand in the spot where Mr. Borden was killed, also hacked over 11 times.... I didn’t want to go stand down there at 3 a.m (I was already laying right next to the spot where Abby’s corpse was found.) If this is something you’re into then do it! Save up to do it to stay overnight if you can, you won’t be disappointed. We didn’t see or hear anything paranormal, I took a bunch of photos and will continue to look through them. My daughter said the house didn’t feel comfortable until after the tour. I felt completely UNCOMFORTABLENE after the tour sleeping in our room and didn’t want to sleep facing the spot where Abby died. I was up till 4 AM and slept for three hours. My daughter who had been petrified fell asleep around 12:30 and slept through the night, so did her friend. Honestly just go, I’m so psyched that my daughter did agree to do this with me. I know it’s something we will remember that we did together for the rest of our lives, something very special, unique, and possibly once in a lifetime. My husband got us the overnight stay which came with a full tour of the house for my birthday, he was too scared to join us LOL. There were 11 other guests in the house overnight with us, they were a fun group to tour with too. Good times! The breakfast is pretty basic and there’s no access to food or beverages from them while you’re there. I don’t blame them though, you’re basically staying in a museum. And you’re not there for the food anyway. Definitely bring your own beverages if you’re staying overnight we brought snacks too. Still a five-star rating from me!…
We had an overnight stay in October 2020. We enjoyed the evening tour with Danielle very much. Very interesting things to hear regarding the story of Lizzie and the murders. The breakfast was also very good. I would highly recommend that people go and enjoy this unique stay. You may want to go to the cemetery in the area as well to see the grave site either before or after your stay. We didn't have any ghostly experiences but we did have an electrical device shut off multiple times and that never happened before or since our return.
What a fantastic tour... very detailed in the explanation of the whole story and very friendly tour guide... she was amazing giving us some extra details about the house.... highly recommended. The house is in perfect condition and looking back at the pictures of the murders they house is almost identical.
We stayed the night and received the evening tour. My friends and I loved every moment we were there. It was such a blend of history, true crime , and a ghost tour! We went during COVID, and you can tell the owner took safety very serious, which I greatly appreciated!
This place is the best experience ever. The tour guide Sue was amazing! I will be coming back with more family and friends next time. Rooms are clean, even thro this covid mess it was exceptionally clean. Breakfast is wonderful too. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Just loved it!!
