The Winnetu is an outstanding resort hotel located on the iconic South Beach of Martha’s Vineyard. We went as a family group at the end of September and we were delighted with the Winnetu’s facilities and services. For this visit our group had suites in the main building, some with bedrooms on the ocean side and some with living rooms on the ocean side. When the sliding doors were open to the porch, the crash of the oceans waves on South Beach provided a relaxing backdrop. This year the bocce court was added to the facilities afforded for family fun. The heated pool and hot tub made it possible to enjoy an early fall dip in the water. This is great place for families. We were an inter generational group and all of us had a wonderful time. The staff and service are exceptional and make the Winnetu a good value.…
We recently stayed at the Winnetu on our first trip to Martha's Vineyard. The resort was really perfect for us. Starting with the resort itself, it's located on a beautiful part of the island, close enough to Edgartown to take a shuttle in easily, but far away enough to truly feel like a resort and not just a nice hotel. We stayed in an Aquinnah suite, which was nice and spacious for us and our two kids, and had a beautiful balcony with a (distant) ocean view. What really set the resort apart was the staff. From the general manager, Matt, to each and every waiter, waitress and front desk clerk we encountered, the staff could not have been more friendly and efficient. Particularly given the difficulty everyone is having staffing these days, and the fact that we kept encountering the same people in different roles, the staff here really set this resort apart. Everyone was willing to go out of their way to provide excellent service. When we needed to extend our stay for another night due to weather, again, everyone involved made it easy for us to stay another night until we could fly out and even kept in the same room (at a discounted rate no less!), which made everything much easier for us. We've stayed at a lot of nice places over the years and I'm not sure that I have ever encountered a staff quite like this one! Whatever the owners and managers are doing for training and recruitment/retention of excellent people, it's working well, and we wouldn't hesitate to return to the Winnetu.…
We love coming to the Winnetu. It’s our favourite spot to getaway and enjoy great food and a beautiful location. The staff are excellent and do everything to make your stay memorable. This is our third visit and we brought our best friends with us. We are already planning our return visit for 2024. Highly recommend
We’ve been coming to Winnetu every summer for 14 years. My children have basically grown up here. We pay for the larger suite and amenities but it is totally worth it, as this is our only getaway all summer. Love Winnetu and will continue to go every summer forever.
I’ve been going to the place for the place 4 years and even though it is expensive, it is worth every penny. The staff goes above and beyond, and the owner is on the grounds — he clearly cares for his staff and for his beautiful jewel of a resort. The clambake dinner is the GOAT and the kids club is equally amazing.
In my opinion, the best vacation property on the Island. Great property, lots of property space and services. Instant access to the beach. Very nice pools. My wife ands I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so for years more! And, the best kept secret on M.V. - Stay at the Winnetu Mattakesett Townhouses. All the services of the hotel available plus a large private unit. The downside is you must rent in weekly increments but if you are coming all the way here for a vacation this should not be an issue!
Friends always told me “vacation with kids is never a vacation- just taking the circus on the road.” That was happily not the case for us as the Winnetu! They made it so easy to enjoy our stay and relax - as a family and as a couple. Easy access to a great beach, comfortable accommodations for our family in the townhouse, an amazing kids program and concierge who helped us enjoy all the island has to offer, and lots of fun kid friendly activities. It was a restorative trip, which is something I truly never expected with a 2.5 year old and a new baby.
We recently stayed at the Winnetu for Labor Day Weekend with our three kids and dog. The entire stay was amazing. Every single staff member was friendly and attentive. Our room (a 1 bedroom garden cottage) was well-decorated, spacious, and impeccably clean. The pool area is a little slice of heaven - we could have stayed there all day! We also enjoyed the path to the beach, the turtle pond, the lawn, and the on-site restaurant. We took advantage of the Edgartown shuttle, which always ran on time and was very convenient. We haven't been to the Winnetu in several years, and it is even better than the last time we came. We plan to come back next summer!
Our family had a wonderful vacation here. They have so many things to choose from and we took advantage of all of them. If you want a truly relaxed atmosphere you’ll certainly enjoy it here! Your requests will be answered in a friendly and timely manner.
Excellent family resort and amazing staff! Our family has now returned two years in a row and we plan on coming back next summer. We rented a townhouse our first summer and a duplex this time around. The facilities and amenities are fantastic, especially if you have little ones, and the service is the best on the island! Our family frequented many of the (highly recommended/top rated) restaurants on the island and the service at Winnetu and The Dunes restaurant far surpassed that of the other establishments. Thank you for a memorable summer vacation.
