Everyone was exceptionally nice. I highly recommend Winnetu. The best restaurant in Edgartown is on-site. Our Romanian life-traveling waitress served us well. Lizzy and the other front desk ladies oriented us about area attractions. The concierge detailed our MV map. …… we especially appreciated the way Winnetu straightened the suite during whatever hour we specifically requested. There were amazingly unique touches. Somehow they’d curated the small ‘library’ placed on a suite shelf, creating an interesting, but politically balanced, mix. Everything exceeded our expectations, especially the robes. Expensive, but won’t regret the cost.

Hotel's Favorite
We recently stayed at the Winnetu on our first trip to Martha's Vineyard. The resort was really perfect for us. Starting with the resort itself, it's located on a beautiful part of the island, close enough to Edgartown to take a shuttle in easily, but far away enough to truly feel like a resort and not just a nice hotel. We stayed in an Aquinnah suite, which was nice and spacious for us and our two kids, and had a beautiful balcony with a (distant) ocean view. What really set the resort apart was the staff. From the general manager, Matt, to each and every waiter, waitress and front desk clerk we encountered, the staff could not have been more friendly and efficient. Particularly given the difficulty everyone is having staffing these days, and the fact that we kept encountering the same people in different roles, the staff here really set this resort apart. Everyone was willing to go out of their way to provide excellent service. When we needed to extend our stay for another night due to weather, again, everyone involved made it easy for us to stay another night until we could fly out and even kept in the same room (at a discounted rate no less!), which made everything much easier for us. We've stayed at a lot of nice places over the years and I'm not sure that I have ever encountered a staff quite like this one! Whatever the owners and managers are doing for training and recruitment/retention of excellent people, it's working well, and we wouldn't hesitate to return to the Winnetu.

My wife and I spent 4 days at this wonderful resort. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodations exceeded expectations (we had previously stayed at another high-end resort on MV). The food was great. The beach was close and the farms on the north side of the resort added a nice change of scenery. Also, we brought our dog and they could not have been more accommodating. We highly recommend Winnetu.

We couldn't have had a better experience at Winnetu. From the moment we arrived, the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. We specifically chose a location conducive to beach walks and the Winnetu didn't disappoint. We could see the ocean from our room. The grounds are charming, peaceful and beautiful. The accommodations were perfect for our family of three. We were traveling for a wedding with our college age son, so the bedroom suite worked well for us. Our room accommodations were perfect. Kitchenette was well stocked. There is a fridge, microwave, sink and stove top. There was an extra bathroom, which was great since our son is older. We had arrived after taking a red eye, and the staff was helpful in getting us into our room a bit early. The shuttles into town worked well for us. Again, the staff was helpful in so many ways. We saw many families with younger children and there were lots of activities on the grounds to choose from. We will definitely be back to the Vineyard and will stay at Winnetu again for sure. It was a lovely experience all the way around.

Located south of Edgartown, the Winnetu was our lodging choice for two nights on Martha’s Vineyard at the end of September. We had a 2 bedroom on the third floor of the main building and it was a great spacious room that could sleep 6 people easily. The guest bathroom was very spacious and was surprisingly smaller than the master bathroom in the master bedroom. The 2 bedroom had a washer/dryer which was great to have! The hotel can offer and arrange shuttle pick up from the ferry dock at Oak Bluff but due to covid and staffing, it was challenging arranging a pick up but they were able to drop us off at the ferry dock. Call ahead of you want to try and arrange something! The staff was super friendly at the hotel itself but calling them prior to our arrival was challenging to talk to someone, hence the 4 star review. Sometimes we never got a message back if we called and left a voicemail, usually they would email back instead. The hotel is really remote so if you want to get around, the hotel does offer shuttle rides to Edgartown. Otherwise you may want to consider a car to see the various parts of the island. You are within walking steps from the beach and about a 15-20 minute bike ride to Edgartown. WiFi for us in the main building was fine. Breakfast is not included here and the restaurant has some overpriced and not as great food. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Winnetu and would choose to stay here if I was looking for a remote and quiet place to relax and unwind on Martha’s Vineyard.

Thank you for staying with us at The Winnetu Oceanside Resort and taking time to share your thoughts with us. I am sorry for the few things that were not perfect from the pre-arrival communication to the value and quality of our dinner options. It appears you may have just, missed our complimentary breakfast, which starts at the last week of September through the end of our season. I hope that you will visit us again soon when you return to Martha's Vineyard.
