The Harborside Inn is in a great location - right in the heart of Edgartown, you can easily walk to all the main destination spots. And, as far as prices go, though not cheap, in comparison to other places like the Harbor View Inn, it is a bargain! However, the rooms were not so great. We had 2 rooms on the ground floor. The rooms are a good size (we had 2 queens in each room) though the bathroom is quite tiny. And, although they "updated" the bathroom, you could tell it was slapped together. The real problems were as follows: 1- The rooms were so dark, dank and damp when we arrived, it was unbearable. We quickly realized that the dehumidifiers they had in each of our rooms was full and not running. We emptied them, put them on high and opened our doors to air the rooms out. That certainly helped! We needed to empty our dehumidifiers twice a day each day of our stay it was so damp in there! Unfortunately, one cannot really keep ones shades open to let light in because, being on the ground floor right by the pool, the whole world sees right into your room! 2- The Noise! Oh. My. Gosh. - To start with, all of the rooms above have a little sitting area outside of their room with a little table and 2 chairs. All you hear from early in the morning until late at night is people scraping those chairs and tables on the floor above. Horrible! - Secondly, we had this super obnoxious couple staying in the room at the end of the row of rooms we were in, right next to the room my 86 year old mother and 84 year old aunt were staying in. This couple decided that they would have a party every night in front of their room. They had a big cooler set up with beers and they sat out there all night - truly, ALL NIGHT - drinking beer, having friends over to party, right outside of their room. The first night, I went outside at 11:30pm and asked them if they could please keep it down and they were very apologetic. That lasted for 5 minutes! There were 4 or 5 people outside - right outside of our rooms - laughing and screaming stories at one another, etc, etc. Around midnight, I called the front desk and asked if they could please intervene. They said they would but the noise continued for hours. The hotel staff was no help whatsoever. Well, as they say, you get what you pay for. We tried to stay gone as long as we could, though the older ladies needed to go back to the room a few times each day to rest. Thankfully, my sister and I were able to step out, just down the street, for cocktails and avoid the melee of our neighbors. And, thankfully, the older ladies were a bit hard of hearing so they were able to get their rest!

This is my happy place! We’ve come every year for at least 10 years and always enjoyed the stay no matter the weather. Great views of Edgartown Harbor, friendly & helpful staff, comfortable room/beds, perfect location for easy walk to eateries & shops, beautifully manicured lawn/garden, clean and well-maintained common areas. We like to travel & experience different places but Harborside Inn on the Vineyard is an annual “must-do”.

We stayed at the Harborside Inn in April 2021. It was school vacation for my boys and we were looking to get out of the house for a few days. We drove down from Maine on a Sunday and checked into the Garden View Suite which was perfect for us. The room was clean, nicely decorated and the layout worked well. My husband and I loved having the privacy of our own bedroom and entrance to the bathroom. Our kids loved having the tv to themselves in the other room at night. We enjoyed sitting outside to have our coffee in the morning in the nice patio area outside our door. My two son’s were thrilled that the heated pool opened for the season the weekend we arrived. The pool area is lovely with a beautiful view, nice chairs & umbrellas. The staff at HarborSide were incredible- I would say the nicest and most accommodating I’ve ever encountered. Specifically, Celine made sure our visit was perfect. This was a much needed three day getaway for us. It was so nice to relax in comfort and be welcomed by such an amazing staff. We can’t wait to go back.

This was my first time visiting the Vineyards, and I enjoyed myself. I would definitely visit again during the peak time when more shops and places are open, There was still plenty to do and see. Harborside Inn was a very clean hotel, and the staff was very accommodating . The manager Celine, and the security man (forgot his name) was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay and even gave suggestions on places to visit. Although, the hotel is located in a great part of town close to shops and restaurants it's still great to have a car while on the island, If you do have a vehicle the only down side with staying at this hotel is that the park lot is detached and it's approximately a 4 minute walk each way but it's no charge. My suggestion would be to offer valet, I can't image what they do for elderly guest. We drove to a lot of the different parts of the island everything is in close proximity. I had a great time renting bikes (Wheel Happy) , Island Alpaca (great for kids or adults), Martha Vineyard Museum, The Cliffs/Lighthouse, Circuit Ave shops Ben & Bills ice cream is amazing & C'est La Vie shop, arcade, Inkwell Beach, Cottages, Oceanview & Lookout restaurants had great seafood.
