We had two rooms in this hotel for a long weekend in August. We chose one dog friendly, including a direct back door to beach private path which was convenient and spacious. The rooms were so clean for being steps from sand, but nothing felt overly precious so kids and dog were fine. The back porch had seating but was adjacent to a large and loud air conditioner. There was a mini kitchen with sink, dishes, and fridge. Bathroom had giant walk in shower and no tub. We were glad to have brought our own beach towels, and would have liked our own pillows, the bedding was not very comfortable. There were complimentary breakfast pastries and coffee/juice in a room not far from the check-in. The location is right next to a public beach access and many hotels, but we never felt overly crowded. Beach was "fenced off" to make a private beach area just for our hotel. The sand was abundant and somehow the water was so much warmer than in Sandwich. The small dog had enough room away from the beach for business and there was a trash can and bags. We did let her run when the beach was empty (dogs not allowed on beach June-August under $300 fine), though some neighbors came down and warned us of a fox, which sure enough wandered by from the dunes and was bigger than our dog. There was adequate parking but a bit of a slog to carry all luggage to the room from the front lot. Within a 20 minute drive to food and shopping options with Chapin's, Woolfies, Sundae School, Cuffies, and Chatham.

Quaint local motel located right on the beach. Not all rooms face the water, but many do. Rates were reasonable for the location. Non-contact check-in and check-out. Room was spacious and very clean. One of our party uses a walker and the motel has a winding ramp that connects from handicapped parking to room with only 3 steps.

We made a late reservation and were lucky to get a room here as it was the last available. There wasn't any view but who cares, it was steps to a beautiful beach. The sand was sooo soft. It was raked clean everyday of seaweed and a lot of lounge chairs and tables at no charge. The frony5desk hours are limited but there is a staff person available by text 24/7 who lives there. They were all helpful and friendly. Our room was had everything you might need, small stove, fridge, etc. Free parking for all guests. Very clean. There are several good restaurants close by, some walkable.

Our visit to this hotel was lovely and we can't wait to go again! It was on the beach; has a private beach and is pet friendly! Clean rooms, great showers and beds with a helpful kitchenette in our room. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
It's centrally located on the Cape with 2 great restaurants close by (one next door) and a pretty cool java stop down the road.
Definitely worth a stay if you're going to Cape Cod.
Already planning our next visit.

The place was very clean, the location was perfect. We went down the Cape for a wedding and the motel was within walking distance. They accept animals and the view from our room, on the water side, was spectacular. My only complaint is there was no hair dryer and not a box of tissues

We stayed for two nights to get away from it all. My wife and I have been staying here for years, keep coming back.....Awesome, quiet place with its own little private beach. Not a commercial motel, on a quiet street along the ocean, yet convenient to everything on the Cape! Although we didn’t this time, we have brought along our dog many times, it’s so great to be able to bring your dog on a getaway, they love the ocean as much as we do! Friendly staff and clean rooms and outdoor areas. We recommend you stay here! Once you do, we guarantee you’ll be back!

I searched for a pet friendly motel and Sea Shell was the most accommodating, pet friendly of any place I found on Cape Cod. They welcomed my dog with open arms and hearts and made special arrangements for us regarding housekeeping. The room was clean and cozy with an enclosed balcony, it was great to sit there and read or have a glass of wine and hear the waves. The motel is easy to get to and close to shops and restaurants. There's a small private beach with lounge chairs for customers of the Sea Shell. Lisa and Joy in the office are friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely go back again.

Friends recommended this place...we are very glad they did! Believe it or not, true ocean front rooms on cape cod are scarce and quite expensive...most require a 1 week minimum...we got lucky...for the most part (will explain later)...and got a discounted price $249.00 per night - the regular rate for August is $300 a night - for 2 nights in ROOM 31... and $99 for 1 night in room 26 - not so great ...view of neighboring hotel parking lot.(The move was not voluntary, btw) ROOM 31 is top notch 2 room suite with full kitchen, separate bedroom, flat screen tv, even an electric fireplace, and that WONDERFUL ocean front balcony! There are six rooms (3 on each floor) of the hotel that are true ocean front - avoid the others. Only ROOM 31 has the full kitchen...a queen bed in the main room and 2 twins in the separate bedroom...bathroom has separate vanity areas - very nice and clean...my only complaint about this room is the lack of toiletries one comes to expect these days...you are given 3 slivers of cashmere bouquet soap...no shampoo, conditioners etc...no hairdryer unless you request one. Room 26 is small and really needs to be refurbished...there is a screened-in porch area, but the air conditioner vents into it and make the porch very hot indeed, and noisy! The sliding door is difficult to operate...tiny bathroom with a very old looking vent/fan cut into the tile wall about 2 ft off the floor, with some ugly plastic tape around it...honestly it was creepy looking...although the motel mgt describes this as "ocean view", that is somewhat deceptive...you have to look past the parking lot and through or over the 8 ft fence surrounding the motel next-door to get a glimpse of nantucket sound. Bottom line - we loved our time here in ROOM 31 !...also staff were very pleasant...and free self-service breakfast was a very nice surprize.!

We stayed here for one night...the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Location is right on the beach, and rooms were clean and fairly new looking. This was our first stay at a 'pet friendly' hotel...we brought our puppy and she was welcomed with open arms. There were a couple other dogs there, but by no means was the place overrun with dogs.
only downside is dogs are not allowed on the beach, but that is a town rule, not specific to the hotel.
