For our wedding anniversary, we escaped for three nights & four days to the Carriage House Inn in Chatham, MA. The hosts Peter, Brian, & Raquel—all masked per Commonwealth guidelines (& common sense, I might add)—met us periodically during our stay, and were warm, friendly, gracious, and sincerely concerned that we have a good experience & were comfortable given the extenuating circumstances and constraints of vacationing during the pandemic. We were not at all disappointed: the accommodations were exceptional (including the large bouquet of roses that welcomed us in our room), the breakfasts delicious & prepared according to our preferences, & the overall service excellent. Our telephoned queries both before and during our stay were answered promptly, including "Help! we locked our room keys in the room...!" We also relied extensively on the varieties of their well-annotated maps to the Cape's near and far destinations. Given the perfect Autumn weather, we biked most of the Cape Cod Rail Trail, enjoyed a special anniversary dinner with complementary drink at Buca's Tuscan Roadhouse in neighboring Harwich, savored a takeout lunch at PB Boulangerie Bistro (Wellfleet, at terminus of the CCRT), hiked shore, marsh, forest, and beach at different nature preserves (including Wellfleet Bay's Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, South Beach/Monomoy Wildlife Refuge, and Chatham Conservation Lands. My one criticism of our experience is leveled at ourselves for not planning on a longer stay!

Dear D&S We are thrilled you chose to stay with us for your Special Anniversary getaway at the newly renovated C.1850 Carriage House Inn in Chatham Cape Cod, and that you thoroughly enjoyed the freshly renovated historic inn and your very private Nauset Beach King room with fireplace, private entrance and sitting garden. All our Carriage House Rooms have new individually controlled heat and A/C units and freshly renovated bathrooms. Chef Peter now offers many house made breakfast options each day for exceptional artisan breakfasts and we are glad you enjoyed the room service option as well as the garden patio dining. We are so pleased that you both took advantage of Host Brian’s extensive curated local maps and insiders day trip guides to get the most out of your trip to the Cape! In these challenging times it’s important for our guests to know we have uniquely earned Select Safe Certification in Chatham this season so you can relax on vacation and enjoy your private space without interacting with staff or other guests. No common areas this season to worry about and all private entries and outdoor spaces too. All rooms are buffered 48-72 hours between stays which allows guests to really spread out and relax. Unique in Chatham! We look forward to welcoming you both back soon! Brian, Chef Peter & Raquel

There are only 6 rooms at the inn so book well in advance. We were down in Chatham for an October wedding and booked 3 rooms. Two were in the carriage house and the third was on the second floor of the main building. All rooms have private entries and the common areas are closed due to Covid. The carriage house has 3 rooms and were a little bigger than the other rooms and had gas fireplaces and a mini refrigerator. Two of my friends had rooms 5 and 6 and both had a private outdoor sitting area. I was in Room 2 and to get there I walked across the backyard and up a flight of stairs to the entrance. All the rooms were extremely clean and had been updated within the last couple of years. The best part was the breakfast. You filled out a selection form the day before and then picked a time from 8 to 9:30AM for it to be delivered to your room. The staff would leave it outside your room and knock to let you know. There was a very nice selection and the food was delicious. I'd go back for the breakfast alone. The inn is a very short distance from Chatham Bars Inn, so if you're going to a wedding there, I would strongly suggest you stay here. The rates are reasonable and you're close to everything in Chatham. This is an adults only inn, so it was very quiet and laid back.

Thank you Jim: We are so glad you and your friends enjoyed your wedding event stay with us in all 3 freshly renovated rooms! That’s right that we are the closest B&B to the beach, Chatham Bars & the Fish Pier. Many guests perhaps don’t realize how different this season has been during covid to even remain open, to fully maintain our 5 star service and to keep guests and staff safe— so we really appreciate your amazing review despite all our exceptional protocols! You will always have a special heartfelt welcome here at the Inn! Chef Peter has really outdone himself with 7 made to order breakfast options and many sides and daily fresh house made pastries. Unheard of for any B&B on the Cape. Thank you for the amazing review and please spread the word to family and friends traveling to the Cape! We look forward to welcoming you back next season. Best Raquel Assistant Innkeeper

Thank you S&L We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us in your freshly renovated Monomoy Island King Room. We are indeed the closest B&B to the beach, Chatham Bars & the Fish Pier. Many guests perhaps don’t realize how difficult this season has been during covid to even remain open, to fully maintain our 5 star service and to keep guests and staff safe so we really appreciate your amazing review despite all our exceptional protocols. Having Chef Peter, a French trained professional chef, really sets us apart from the typical B&B or small inn as we are able to offer amazing complementary made to order breakfast options you won’t find even at larger hotels. We are so glad you enjoyed it! We look forward to welcoming you both back soon! Best Raquel Assistant Innkeeper

We enjoyed our recent stay at the CHI in Chatham. We were welcomed by Brian, socially distancing rules observed. Key was available on the front porch. Multiple breakfast choices were available and delivered each morning. All were very tasty. Due to COVID protocols housekeeping was not available, but we were able to get fresh towels on request. Raquel was also pleasant to deal with, and she provided advice when we encountered a car issue. Room was very comfortable as was our outside sitting area. We will return!

Dear S&CA: We are thrilled you chose to stay with us for a long weekend stay at the newly renovated Carriage House Inn in Chatham Cape Cod, and that you thoroughly enjoyed the freshly renovated historic inn and your very private Chatham Light King room with fireplace, private entrance and large personal sitting garden. Socially distanced stays are very easy at CHI. Chef Peter now offers 7 house-made breakfast options each day for exceptional artisan breakfasts and we are glad you enjoyed the room service option. We are so pleased that you both took advantage of our concierge recommendations and Host Brian’s extensive curated local maps and insiders day trip guides to get the most out of your trip to the Cape and that Raquel was able to assist you any time by text and phone. In these challenging times where some inns seem to think it’s business as usual, it’s important for our guests to know we have uniquely earned Select Safe Certification in Chatham this season so you can relax on vacation and enjoy your very clean private spaces without having to interact face to face with staff or other guests. No common areas or housekeepers entering your room this season to worry about and all private entries and outdoor spaces too. All rooms are buffered 48-72 hours between stays which allows guests to really spread out and relax. Unique in Chatham! (For longer stays we do offer housekeeping done in full PPE.) We look forward to welcoming you both back in 2021 when our dining rooms with white table cloth service and Captain’s Parlor reopen! Thank you! Brian, Chef Peter & Raquel The Innkeepers

My first stay at The Carriage House Inn. I stayed for four fabulous nights. Innkeepers were wonderful including their staff member Raquel. Room was perfect and immaculate as well. The Inn is located in the best location. You can walk to Chatham Village, Chatham Bars Inn and several small beaches perfect for walking. I highly recommend this wonderful getaway. I can't wait to return in a few weeks.

Dear Cape Karen Thank you for your review which really means a lot coming from a life long Cape Codder who is familiar with all the lodging options on the Outer Cape! We are so glad you enjoyed your extended stay with us in your freshly renovated Pleasant Bay Queen Room with large sun deck and private entrance —which is perfect for solo travelers or couples who don’t mind a plush Queen Bed. We are the closest B&B to the beach, Chatham Bars & the Seal Observation Deck at the popular Chatham Fish Pier. We loved your comments that Chef Peter’s breakfasts were some of the best meals had in Chatham. You will always be welcome here for a local’s getaway! See you back at the Inn in a few weeks!
