We go to the Cape and Chatham often. The last time was in August last year when we stayed at the Queen Anne Inn in Chatham. Planning our next trip up there, I browsed Trip advisor and was saddened to find a comment , describing the inn as “ dingy and falsely advertised”. I felt I should share our experience. Our room had a large balcony , a King sized bed set into a beautiful painted wood frame
with one King mattress. Although located near the pool we had a awesome hot tub right outside our back steps. If our visit was a little later in the year, we would’ve enjoyed a beautiful fire in the fireplace to add more romance in the room. In any case we enjoyed our stay immensely and will request the same room again.
Id describe the sunny, very breezy feeling the breakfast room exudes coupled with our breakfast. Which was included to be 5 starred!! All we paid was a gratuity to the excellent and well mannered staff. During the evening I still remember the bartenders name, “ Blago”; he was terrific and gave us a ton of ideas, from Provincetown to Nantucket” for things to check out!
Overall, our experience at the Queen Anne inn put us in a good relaxed mood. We are staying at the Queen Anne again and will be there in May to see the whales.

We just completed a three night stay at this little inn. We had two rooms since we were traveling with our two teenagers. As much as I would have love to stay at one of the glitzier resorts in the area, they were just too expensive in July and honestly we wanted and inn experience.
I did a lot of research and read all the reviews, good and bad, and was a little nervous ahead of time but when I spoke to the innkeeper Dana on the phone when I made my reservation and prior to arriving she was very helpful.
Yes, the Inn is old, but that’s part of its charm. Its not perfect. Floors creak. Paint chips. It’s like staying in your grandmothers house. We enjoyed the full breakfast each morning in the sunroom and sitting outside in the garden during the evening with a cocktail. We walked into town every day. It’s a great location. Adjacent to local grocery market, CVS, and pond.
If you want to stay in this price range, I recommend the Queen Anne Inn.

I kind of got a bad feeling when I was making my reservation. I booked a room directly on the Inn's website that said "Book Now/Pay Later-Free Cancellation!" But when I confirmed, it said it was going to charge my card. I called the Inn and the woman I spoke to insisted I booked through Booking.com (I didn't) and she would not honor that. Since I didn't really reserve the room she went through the process with me on her computer at the same time and discovered that her very own website was doing this, not Booking.com but she still would not honor it. Anyway, it was kind of late in the season so I decided just to go ahead and stay there. A few days before we got there my husband sprained his ankle very badly and was on crutches when we arrived. This was rather unfortunate because there is very little help at this inn. There was only room for us to park at the lower lot, down a slight hill. I had to bring the suitcase up and into the Inn. (It's on a busy street, no sidewalk so we couldn't stop in front and drop it off) We were up 2 flights of stairs, no elevator. Luckily, Darla brought our suitcase up. In the mornings Darla brought our breakfast to our room so my husband wouldn't have to go up and down the stairs. The breakfast was very good. There was one odd thing about it and I think it's just like most of the rest of this Inn. The pancakes and french toast are served with "breakfast syrup" not maple syrup. There is is even a list of extras that you can pay for but there is no maple syrup on that list. Here is this lovely breakfast being served to you and all they offer is artificial syrup for it. That's the style of place this is, they're trying to make it look pretty but they don't really care about quality. Our toilet was broken. We complained, she told us we had to hold the handle down for a while to get it to flush completely. Our bed had one of those foam egg crate things on it. The shower was a plastic inset not properly set, had a line of mold on it, with a plastic shower curtain and was completely dark when you were in there. There are a few other things like this, but I won't list them all. I won't come back. It's not really within walking distance of Chatham itself but it's near some other places like the Village market and CVS that are convenient. The dining room was lovely, we ate breakfast in there on our way out. The Inn itself really has a lot of potential.

This is a cute little inn, well situated near the shops and restaurants in Chatham as well as a small beach. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.
I wouldn’t call this place luxurious or full service though—the decor is more classic New England and a bit dated in spots, and the restaurant isn’t open all day. That said it’s super clean and you can get practically anything you need as long as you’re happy to seek someone out and ask. For example, if you want a drink to enjoy by the pool there’s no bartender inside so you have to go to the front desk and ask. It’s not what I’m used to at a hotel, but everyone was super happy to help so it wasn’t a big deal in the end.
Given the other choices in Chatham I’d stay here again. The location is fantastic, the pool is a nice bonus and rooms are big. One more thing to note—there was a pretty big step down from our room (33) to the spacious private terrace. If you have limited mobility and want private outdoor space you should call the hotel and discuss which room you should reserve.
All in all highly recommend!

We stayed at the Queen Anne on the last leg of our New England tour. This is a nice old hotel in a great location. The staff were all really pleasant and helpful. The room was comfy, although the shower could have been a bit more powerful. Our only gripe was with the breakfast menu, which is really unnecessarily complex. The cooked breakfast selections were free (if breakfast is included in your booking). However, if you just want cereals or fruit, these are extras and have to be paid for (along with several other items). The opportunity to swap one for the other was not really an option. Why not just have a straightforward selection, it would be much easier.

My husband and I stayed here a weekend in early July and decided this would be our summer getaway destination for many of our summer weekends. Everything about our stays was great. The location is perfect, the grounds are lovely and the staff is beyond accommodating. The breakfasts are wonderful too:). Plus, there are balconies and outdoor seating for social distancing.
The Inn is close to town and a quiet beach and accessible to many sights in the area. It is low key and relaxing. The rooms are all different (we’ve tried 4 now!) and each has been quaint and charming.
Above all, the attention to detail and warm customer service is what brought us back repeatedly. During covid times, we found the Inn to be careful with strict protocols while still keeping a relaxing atmosphere.
We look forward to visiting again!

First the good - the location is convenient, the downstairs rooms are pleasantly decorated. The receptionist was very helpful with dinner recommendations. The room was spacious.
Now the bad - the bathroom was ancient and the toilet didn't flush properly and overflowed at one point. The plug in the sink had to be praised up with fingernails as there was no plug lever. There was no hand-held shower, and no shower gel. The floor was stained brown around the toilet. The strange radiator was rusty and made weird noises. The cream bedroom carpet was dirty. This isn't charming, just tatty.
The room is advertised as 'Free cancellation' (see the website) but the manager attempted to charge me $75 for shortening my stay by one night when I gave 6 weeks or more notice. Like just 6% of American hotels, according to the internet, they tried to apply a hidden 'Amenity fee' allegedly to cover the advertised 'Free parking, free WiFi' (see the website and booking.com) of about $25 per day - it took a battle at the end to get this hidden charge in the small print removed. You also get asked to agree to a 20% gratuity for breakfast on arrival, when you have not yet decided if there is good service. Why not just pay your staff properly rather than expecting 'gratuities' for basically doing your job?
The breakfast was overcooked and overdressed, small portions, no oatmeal, we tried all the cooked choices and were disappointed with every one - the additional items were charged at ridiculous prices - $4.50 (plus tax/gratuity - inevitably) for a single British sausage! Similar amounts for a slice of bacon. For almost all hotels with breakfast included, you get to choose what you want from a buffet, not have a limited overcooked (potatoes were dark brown and reheated) choice. The coffee machines gave at best extremely weak coffee, and sometimes didn't work.
The chain-link fence around the pool looks a mess - how about something a bit more in keeping?
This inn/hotel needs a customer-focused rethink. It could be so much better with more attention to detail, simplified pricing and flexible more generous breakfast options. The tatty, non-working elements need a refresh.

My husband and I ate dinner at the Queen Anne Inn Restaurant on our last night in Chatham. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. The setting itself is beautiful - white table cloths, fresh hydrangeas on the tables, windows across two walls of the dining room. And the food! We each started with a beet salad, which included both yellow and red beets, arugula and candied pecans and was topped with spiralized beets - it was a work of art to behold. I had scallops for my entree. The scallops were delicately and perfectly prepared, served on a spinach risotto, with broccolini as the main vegetable. My husband had tuna served on a bed of guacamole with a sesame seed cracker garnish. He said it was the best tuna he’s eaten. And dessert was a simple, but perfect, cheesecake.

+1
This old established bed & breakfast with many features that are desirable, it is near to the center of Chatham, has a beautiful pool, good breakfast, and a warm and caring staff. It is clean. But for elders, seniors, the choice of a first floor room is essential as the stairs are long and narrow. The toilets are old and very low. The shower has no safety bars. You must also we wise as to the breakfast menu which is designed for visitors and every item has an associated price; you do not know what is included and what is not, the staff does not tell you either, buyer beware. There are no afternoon treats, you are own your own; but the staff is happy to help with reservations for your evening meal.

Sorry is that a question??
there is water close by, but the real beach is a drive
Sorry no photo but to add to other replies - It has a lawn surrounded by shady trees and shrubs. It's enclosed by the buildings that make up the inn, away from the road and fenced from the pool, so safe for children.
A few tables, chairs and parasols at one end to enjoy relaxing drinks and snacks etc. Nice.
The inn does provide free WiFi for its guests,. Thank you for your kind inquiry.

Petya Feeney
