Very romantic, quaint beautiful house. Breakfast was homemade and excellent and the room Was sparkling clean. Home baked cookies every afternoon and port in the library in the evening. Definitely recommend.
We loved the Captain’s House Inn! We never stay in B&B’s so this was a trial run for us. We were not disappointed. We booked a last minute weekend away to come to Chatham and check on our rental property. The Captain’s House Inn had a cottage room (Lady Mariah) available so we nabbed it. We didn’t really know what to expect. We were greeted by Aubrey one of the innkeepers who immediately gave us a tour and showed us to our lovely room. Canopy bed, luxurious bathroom including large soaking tub, plentiful A/C, coffee, tea and snacks were all presented. The next morning we had a delightful breakfast in the sun room. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. Everyone was helpful and attentive. Breakfast was delicious. There is no pool on property but they offer beach towels for guests planning to go to the beach. They have thought of everything, truly. Great experience. Lots of privacy and quite serene. It was exactly the relaxation weekend we needed. We will be back!…
We have enjoyed well over 30 Select Registry inns, and B and Bs. The Captains House Inn is among the best we have had the pleasure of staying in. Friendly and professional staff, great room, great breakfast, and great late night cookies. Perfect from start to finish. Definitely worth a return trip.
From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel more than welcome, but at home. The staff are extremely courteous and professional. Our room was wonderful — comfortable canopy bed, cozy sitting area with gas fireplace and a great selection of movies to enjoy. Breakfast was superb! Thank you to Stephanie and all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing!
As I was planning our fall getaway with my husband, I recall telling him: if you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you want to be ? Our answer was : Chatham,MA. And no visit to Cape Cod would make sense without staying at the beautiful Captains House Inn. We had previously stayed there in 2020 and had been dreaming of returning ever since. And so we flew all the way from Costa Rica ( where we live ) to this charming New England place. As soon as we arrived we felt as if we had stepped into a storybook: the perfect English style gardens, the carefully decorated main house, the wind gently brushing through the trees , the smell of freshly baked cookies and the welcoming smile from the staff. We felt right at home. Our room , The Whrilwind, was cozy, perfectly clean and inviting. We had a wonderful stay ! We enjoyed high tea, bicycle rides and the most delicious breakfasts we have ever had . Stephanie really ran the extra mile to accommodate our needs : early check in , early breakfast the day we left and incredible restaurant recommendations. She even baked butter free cookies for my husband, who hates dairy. The warmth, attention to detail and customer service this B& B offers is beyond compare . We are glad to call this little place out home away from home and will be back soon 🙏🏻…
Stephanie was our hostess who answered all questions and could not have been friendlier. Breakfast was great - tea and cookies in the afternoon were most appreciated - the room was clean. There were information cards for many things to do and see in the area.
The inn is in a charming, rambling old building with various cottages around the extensive and beautiful garden which was well maintained and a delight on the eye. It was an easy and pleasant walk to the fish pier and market, and then on to the shoreline. Also walkable to the main-streetof Chatham. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were a real feature - absolutely delicious!
My wife and I had a great stay at the Captain’s House. Quiet residential setting, but close to main street for restaurants and shopping. The staff here did an amazing job! They made us feel very welcome. The Lydia Harding suite was excellent, with lots of room. Loved the evening cookies and coffee :)
We enjoyed our stay. The grounds were being maintained nicely. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, made to order, with varied selections and offered in a breezy room. The Inn had a low-key charming vibe. I would have rated it excellent but a few things were out of date and/or not working right and/or not practical. The TV was tiny and the the location made it unwatchable; this didn't bother us because we spent little time in the room. Similarly the location of the lights made it difficult to read in bed, and this also didn't bother us much. There are some mid-priced hotel chains designed for practicality and have no atmosphere. This Inn is the antithesis of such hotel chains.
My family and I have stayed at this inn before, and the new owners extended a warm welcome to us in June 2022 as well. We love this inn and highly recommend it. It is less than a mile from Chatham Center which is the perfect location to stay on the Cape and not be too far from any town you want to visit. The inn's grounds are beautiful, they have a variety of rooms to choose from, they serve a wonderful breakfast and even offer high tea. There are snacks in your room and you can enjoy some fresh baked cookies from the kitchen in the evening. There is a casual elegance to the inn and it is quiet, peaceful, and comfortable to be there. We have already made our reservations for 2023! We are very glad to have found such a wonderful place to stay when we are on Cape Cod!
