It was the holiday weekend and we knew we would have a problem finding somewhere, but having been told one motel was full the person on the phone told us to try the above motel which we did. We managed to get a couple of nights booked. After seeing friends we booked in around 6pm. It was not very welcoming and even less welcoming when we entered our room. The smell of the room was anything but fresh. The room was in desperate need of repairs, repainting and cleaning of walls, paintwork. There was accumulated dust on the lights (very old dust), top of the electric baseboard heaters, air conditioner and grills. Behind the bathroom window curtains and screen was very dirty and dusty. The carpet was not that bad and the bed was comfortable and clean sheets. The blanket looked strange as through it had been eaten by moths, but it was clean. We decided to just stay the one night and my husband did manage to get the second night grudgingly refunded. I will add some photos. We did not try the restaurant as we just wanted to leave in the morning and put this experience behind us.

I stayed this weekend when I arrived too late to pitch my tent on Friday night. Ellen, the owner, took my call at 10pm and waited for us to come by. She was super nice when she greeted us and treated us really well! She gave great service and is a very sweet lady. The place itself is outdated, but if you're looking for somewhere just to sleep while you spend time in the outdoors, the place is fine. They have a cute restaurant and it's very affordable and good food. Ellen and her staff were super accommodating both at the motel and in the restaurant. I would come back because Ellen gave great service!

This hotel was like something out of a horror movie. Upon our arrival we were led to the basement of the restaurant in front of the motel. This is where we were checked in. There were 5 rooms that were available here. There were cottages on the property but they appeared to be condemned/closed. Of the 5 rooms, three appeared to be occupied by permanent residents. When we entered our room we found that the beds were unmade and there was beer and bags of chips in the room. We were told we would have to wait until someone could clean the room. When the room was finally ready we discovered that the the bed sheets were not changed, the bed was just remade. We noticed hairs and stains on the sheets. The room was very dirty. There were spattered bugs all over the walls and spider webs in every corner. The bathroom was also very dirty. There were layers of dirt and dust on the lights above the bathroom mirror. I booked this room because I attended a wedding in the area and it was the only motel that had a vacancy. After the wedding was over I returned to the motel and decided that the conditions were so bad that I couldn't stay. I found another hotel a half an hour away but I would rather have slept in my truck than in that motel.
