unique spot. great fresh water ponds to walk to, ocean so close by. we go back year after year. couple of unruly stickler rangers. make sure to follow the rules! Be prepared to book six months to the day at 9am according to the atomic clock if you want August rezzi. it is worth it however

Swimming, my favorite thing to do on Cape Cod, has just been enhanced by my first visit to Nickerson State Park. We biked there on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and cooled off in a sparklingly clear, fairly empty pond. If you want a break from sand and salt, check this place out. If you get a Massachusetts State Parks... More

Nickerson is a family friendly park. This is my first camping trip. We stayed in area 4-- traveled around much of the park and most areas seemed nice. The size of the camp sites varied as well as their distance from the road. The bathrooms were ok. Yes there were some insects in them, but we are in the outdoors.... More

We're not really "campers" other than with Boy Scouts- but we couldn't get our Cape house rental on Friday night, so for $35 I figured we'd set up the large tent and rough it so we could beat the Saturday bridge traffic. Bottom line is we rented a tent site, check in was easy, staff was very nice and the... More

Nickerson State Park is located in an area sometimes called lower cape...or if you look at the cape near the "elbow". It is a great location, as the national seashore is a few miles east. The property is very large and there is adequate space between camp sites. Each site has a picnic table, a steel fire pit and a... More

This place was beautiful! The price for camping right in the heart of the Cape can't be beat. I was a little nervous when I booked our site because it looked like it was super close to the bathrooms, but our site was PERFECT. It was tucked back in and very private. We couldn't see another campsite from where we... More

Cliff Pond and Little Cliff Pond were heavenly during our hot week. Loved how bicycle friendly the park is and how close to bay beaches. Nickerson does a lot of things well for a park of its size--there were lots of well-placed sites with privacy, but also lots without. There were nice bathrooms and not so nice. It was hard... More

This is an excellent place for biking and kayaking. That said, we were not impressed with the sites. They were all relatively close together and we had to go down the one way street the wrong way in order to even get our camper into the site we had. Same thing leaving. No possible way to get out of the... More

Friendly, affordable camping area on Cape Cod. Centrally located, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail runs right through the park. It has a few glacial ponds, some for swimming. On our visit there were no mosquitos, but LOTS of gypsy moths.

A huge, beautiful and well-maintained park with lots of activities for all ages, such as swimming, hiking, cycling, jogging and basketball… There’s 24/7 security, and they really do the job, checking your campsite pass. The staff members are friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets and free hot showers. Proper dishwashing stations. The best area is probably Area 4.... More
