First off we consistently stay at ESA hotels across the US so we do know the brand well. The manager said he was new to the property and trying to resolve issues but we've honestly never had an experience like this at ESA.

Hi AmTm4, I am being asked to address your "question" on the "housekeeping issues" as well as maintenance? During our stay there has never been any issues with the avaialblity of housekeeping , if needed. You may not know but the housekeeping usually isn't performed unless the stay is longer than a minimum requirement and you can request housekeeping services on a preferred schedule for a modest charge. Since the suites has always been well maintained, there hasn't been maintance issues for us as pertaining to the room. The elevator has always been clean and working along with the general appearance of the halls, lobby and parking lot.
Hope this helps and the staff is very accomodating in case of a personal request to make your stay more comfortable. Have fun in Boston and the Harbor Cruise is very educational and relaxing too!
