Location is wonderful, on the state side of the Cape Cod Canal so no traveling over the bridge. Nice breeze at all times. Campground is small and quiet. One of the only area campgrounds that let you book less than a week in the summer. A few very disappointing aspects: 1. the administration staff at check-in were indifferent and grumpy... More

Its a rarity to find warm waters on new england beaches. This is one of the beaches which had them and we enjoyed it immensely. Awesome beach with clean water (no weeds) and high areas near the water where kids can make castles. It also has clean washrooms with a pretty good concession stand. It overs hot snacks and ice... We come every summer with our grandkids. It is a wonderful beach campground. Ocean water is clean and cold. Canal has a beautiful bike/walk path. It is usually completely occupied in summer months which makes it amazing that areas are usually very clean.

My husband was mesmerized, by the canal. The water tides rising and falling. Watching the local fisherman and boats come in. The campsite was clean and easy to locate. We spent 2 nights at this great campsite. Would recommend!

Good sized sites that were clean. Facilities were in good shape for a state campground and clean. Quick check in for memorial day weekend. Staff at check in and cleaning staff seemed miserable. Good areas to walk around camp area.

Fabulous beach for families! Ample parking, concessions, large bathhouses. Cool jetty that you can walk out to the end - small lighthouse (we called it the light stick because it has a rather peculiar shape). $14 to park in-state, $16 out of state. Would go back!

I love to take the canal trail from Mass Maritime to the beach on my bike. It's about 7 miles, one way and pretty flat. There are a few hills and it can get very challenging when windy, but I love the scenery and the safety of it. No cars and everyone on the trail are polite and respectful. Yes,... More

Off season it is a great place to walk along the miles of beach. There are nature trails from .5 to 5.5 miles long, through the edge of salt marshes. The beach has some sandy areas, especially at low tide, and has gentle waves for young kids to feel comfortable. But bring beach shoes as it sure is rocky! There... More

We stay here twice per year: once in the spring and once in the fall. Except for the spring wind, Its a perfect time. The kids are in school and mostly just old geezers like us are camping, which means its peaceful. With the new electrical infrastructure we never have to worry about going without power.
